Dice Books

This book is about cosmology, it presents a new and suggestive way of seeing the Hindu world as it unfolds from the inside though the media od play. Siva is palying dice and as he plays he seperates into male and female, and as he plays and looses the moon, the sun the mouintains and thus creates the world.

This is case #006 for the High_ Rise Private Eyes, Bunny Brown and Jack Jones. It all start when they decide to take a walk to the park. They pass the bus stop and find a parked bus and lots of angry people who want a ride on the bus. Upon investigation they discover that Melvin the bus driver's luck dice has been stolen and he will not drive any where with out it. The High Rise Private Eyes gather clues and are soon to the bottom of the case!



The book was easy to read. The story line moved at a fast pace keeping the readers attention well.


We would recommend this to others. If children have read other books in the High Rise Private Eye series they will enjoy this one as well.

This is a wonderful book. Garcia took the time to explain many of the scams that are used from friendly household games to those that have fooled the casinos. Even though the book is old, it still covers many of the same things that are covered in more modern books. He has many pictures and tells you what to look for to protect yourself. If you gamble at all and think you may be the victim of a "mechanic" read this book.

I had the opportunity to review "MANUAL PARA PADRES." (the Spanish translation of "The Pocket Parent") I showed it to one of our Spanish speaking parent educators, a mother of two, and she said it was just the type of book she needs. In reviewing the chapters, I found the book very user friendly, and easy to read. I think parents will find the question and answer sections at the beginning of the chapters, as well as the vignettes, very helpful. Often, our Latino parents struggle to find helpful parenting resources in Spanish. This book is a wonderful resource for them. I will be sure to recommend it to the parents we serve.

It's a very powerful play taking the story of the Holocaust and putting it into today's struggle for homosexuals to gain equality. John Rush, is imprisoned in a homosexual death camp and the play journeys through his fleeting memories as told to his nurse who is beginning to realize the horror in which she is participating. A solid play with an ending sure to bring a tear to anyone with a strand of compassion.

If you like geometry, you might like these dice. There is one for each of the 5 platonic solids, just as the picture shows. They are about 5/8 inch in diameter. You can use the numbers when rolling them or study them as models.

I don't own it, but there's a book on using polyhedral dice in studying math: Exploring Math with Polyhedra Dice: Skill Building Activities in Problem Solving (Learning Resources, Grades 4-8). Or you can just play Dungeons and Dragons until your brain fries.

I originally was reading Kim Isaac Greenblatt's books on fiction and I saw that he writes non-fiction. I don't play poker but I tried playing craps in the past. I didn't get it. The book explains in a no-nonsense way how craps works and how different systems all lead to losing. His section on dice setting explains that a person can set up their own experiments and track them on their own without having to spend thousands of dollars to conmen to teach you to win at a negative expectation game. I have read other books on craps in the past and they have all sorts of money management systems and basically it is all luck. Kim Isaac Greenblatt at least reminds us that if you are lucky, great, if not, remember that the odds are stacked against you. There isn't anything groundbreaking in the book but he is refreshingly honest and simplifies how to approach playing the game. He also donates part of the proceeds from his book to Rett Syndrome research.

This is a fascinating book that goes into great detail on cheating methods for many gambling games including slot machines, poker, roulette and craps. There are also discussions of three-card Monte, cheating devices, carnival games, counterfeiting, pool, horse racing, and "miscellaneous schemes and frauds." Protection is rich in visuals, including slot machine schematics and reprints of old news stories about cheating. It's a great reference work!

Tenga mucho cuidado con este libro. Al parecer es un libro de pensamiento positivo cristiano, pero en el fondo es parte del movimiento de la Palabra de Fe, movimiento que ha promovido doctrinas torcidas. No necesariamente recibes lo que dices porque tu no puedes manipular a Dios. Estos escritores de la Palabra de Fe creen poder manipular a Dios a su antojo y todas sus mentes torcidas siempre pretenden ponerlo todo en favor de ellos. Yo me atrevería a comparar su actitud andte Dios y ante lo divino como la de un macumbero, un espiritista, un santero o vuduista, pretenden manipular la realidad. Amados, esto no es correcto para un cristiano. Cuidado con las doctrinas falsas.

Yo compre este libro que explica la biblia para mi esposo. El no le gusta a leer la biblia porque se confunde a el. El le encanta este libro. Nos leemos a juntos y el se siente mucho mejor. El dice que este libro no se confunde a el y le ayuda a entender la biblia mejor. Yo recomendo. Yo tambien me gusta el libro!
