If you think evangelism and christendom are two different things, ...THINK AGAINReview Date: 2008-04-07
Zumwalt gives you a solid biblical foundation to think different about your life now and how God intended it to be in respect to your neighbor, and the rest of the world. I wish there were more books like this, that make fire inside of you that you just can't wait to take to other people.

Engaging story of a spiritual seekerReview Date: 2004-01-24
The story takes you along to discover a feminist's search for enlightenment, in addition to providing suggestions for your own personal journey. The book discusses concepts about meditation, energy conservation and psychic sensitivity that introduce a larger metaphysical world to the reader. You also see how this path transforms and refines the author - her experience of life - and her experience as a woman.
The prose is so engaging, it feels like you are having coffee with a friend. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in self discovery, the teacher Rama or feminism.

Finding Enlightenment in Life ItselfReview Date: 2003-10-20
I have read many books over the years on the subject of personal growth and transformation. Some books tell a story about a student's magical journey of personal growth through interactions with a teacher that the reader could never expect to experience. Others simply tell a story about a single transformational experience that appears uncommon and unlikely for most. Passionate Heart is different. The story itself is a lesson. Passionate Heart is the teacher and the reader is the student. The reader is taught how to take the magical journey of life and use it to experience personal transformations - not just once, but over and over.
Even though the lessons of Passionate Heart apply to men and women alike, it is particularly empowering for women. It is simply a must read for women of all ages.

A must read for teen girlsReview Date: 2007-10-09
Having gone through many of the same issues with lost love and back stabbing friends I found myself really bonding with the main character Momo.
Every teen girl should pick up a copy as their next manga must have!

New love, old problems Part 1Review Date: 2006-04-14
Momo has had a change of heart. Despite the fact that she had lingering feelings for Toji she has moved on and is now in a relationship with Kiley, the man who helped her through all of her prior romantic grief. Things are not as wonderful as they should be though. Momo's former friend (and enemy) Sae is on the warpath, trying to insinuate herself into Momo's life again by supplanting nasty rumors about her and Kiley, while rubbing into Momo's face that she and Toji are dating.
To make matters stranger there is a bizarre interlude with Nurse Misao that has left Momo skeptical about Kiley's feelings. When he says Misao and his older brother used to be an item is he really telling the whole truth? And what's worse, why does he have an old photo of a woman that may be Misao and him? And who is the strange girl that Kiley is meeting up with in the bookstore in secret?
I'm so happy, "Peach Girl" is back in all of it's angst y goodness. And this series proves to be better than ever. I am so utterly excited that not only are Momo and Kiley dating (finally) but that we now get to have an insight on who Kiley really is...and he seems to be much deeper vessel than we formerly gave him credit for. This playful individual has a dark side and a past and now that Momo is getting to know him better we finally get to venture into that side of him. Joy. On the other hand Toji has diminished into the shadows, but I am certain he will resurface, most likely whenever Sae plans something nasty on Momo.
Fans of Peach Girl rejoice... the second series is as good as the first, thus far.

This volume is written in the original right-to-left format. The benefit of this is that none of the artwork has been flipped, or altered. The downside is that, if this is your first encounter with this style, you will most likely get confused and dizzy trying to figure out the order by which to read the panels (but don't worry, you get used to it after a few pages or so, and there is instructions in the book).

I love this book. It is as generous, salty and wise as a good grandmother.
I can't think of a person, or type of person, who wouldn't enjoy this book. Well, all right, all right, maybe a serial killer wouldn't like it, but, other than that ...
Really. Insights about love, about hearts, presented in a fun and warm way. That's what you get in this book.

Zumwalt argues that much of the problem with the Western church is that we have lost focus on what matters to God, and instead focus on ourselves. He argues that the Christian walk is not meant to be easy. Blessings that we receive aren't meant for us to be used selfishly, but are given so that God's name will be known among the nations. The same is true of the nation of Israel. Israel was chosen not just to be blessed, but instead to be used by God as part of his plan to reconcile every nation to him.
This is a challenging book. It is easy to understand, but it is not easy to apply.
