I got the book, Fit and Fat, and read it from cover to cover, stopping several times to conduct certain "tests" (surveys, questionnaires, fit tests) on myself. When I completed the test on myself, I did the tests on my husband, my mom, my best friend and in some of the classes that I teach! I found the tests the funnest part in the book. But what I like to tell others is that you really can be fit AND fat, and I want people to look "inside: at the heart muscle" to determine how fit they are. In fact, just look at the mortality table to make the point that if you are Fit and Not Fat, you will die at the same rate as someone who is Fit and Fat (read the book for the research studies on this one!). Get it and share it with someone you love. It could save their life!

This book dispels several myths about fitness and fatness that I found very refreshing. The authors really did their homework in providing the latest in research and providing the citation for each source. The book is relatively easy to read and is packed full of practical activities designed to increase self awareness, motivation, and physical and emotional fitness. Definitely exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to explore and enhance their metabolic, emotional, and physical fitness.

I read Fit and Fat and loved it. It has a lot of useful information. It is well written, and the analogies were especially powerful for me. The book takes shame or embarrassment out of not being fit, and teaches how to get more fit in a friendly, nonjudgemental way. It has made a big difference in my life! My friends have read this and report it was helpful for them, too, as they made lifestyle changes.

If you are trying to lose 5 lbs or 50 lbs, the real life stories help you feel that you are not alone in your quest for health. As a personal trainer, the information in this book is valuable. The program designed in this book is a great supplement to the strength training excercises I recommend to my clients.

What I like most about Ms. Peterson's book, Follow Your Heart: And Discover God's Dream for You, is the simple language in which she writes it. Actually, her message is a simple one too--Follow Your Heart-- but one most of us have great difficulty doing. In her book, Ms. Peterson teaches that we all have a dream, but we have to have the courage to believe we do and feel we are worthy of having it. Dreams aren't lofty, they're necessary to live a fulfilling life. I hope Judy Peterson writes more books about finding and following your dreams.

I highly recommend "Follow Your Heart" to women who are on a heart's journey of discovery. How many of you have had hopeful dreams and yet time slips by without giving more serious thought and respect to them? Judy Peterson effectively "catches" one in this ambivalent dance and gently guides and helps point us back to those unfulfilled desires while holding our hand as we dare to summon these dreams to life. Dare to live the dream. This book will greatly assist to this end!

"Follow Your Heart" is an inspiring approach to finding your inner self and the path that brings deep inner peace. This comes when you are in the center of God's plan for your life. This book led me on a remarkably insightful journey - I have read it over and over again, and discovered new truths and new depths each time. I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for more meaning in life!

'Amazing how, "Follow Your Heart" weaves together vision and reality. A sense of faith and belief in God, and in one's self is woven throughout the book. The real-life experiences cited elicit identification and renewed hope. Ms. Peterson's insightful 4 Stages of discovering and pursuing a dream are shockingly accurate! This book helped me realize that, after fifteen years, my educational TV/Internet show, SCHOOL TALK, is in Stage 4 and growing.

In this competitive, high-tech, hi-stakes-testing era, this book brings great balance to those with creative minds and seeking
hearts. 'Sadly missing in much of today's education. I recommend, "Follow Your Heart" to teachers, students, and all dreamers.

The best (and most interesting!) way to learn is from stories. Judy Peterson includes numerous real life stories of women sorting through their dreams and talents to find out who they really are and where they should go with that. She then helps readers apply the thoughts from these stories to their own lives. Inspiring!

There's nothing else Eddie Gresham has to do to be a famous writer except write more books.

Footfalls had me from the first chapter and would not let me go. The characters were so detailed that I felt like I was in their day-to-day lives. And just like horror fiction should be, it played on the simple fears we all have without resorting to gore.

I know some day I'll be in a book discussion and someone in the group will mention Eddie Gresham's name. I'll tell them I have a signed copy of his first book and no one will believe me.

I love when a book is able to put you in a certain mood. I think that is a sign of great story telling. With this novel, I had a sense of dread almost from the start of the book. I liked the character immediately and wanted good things to happen for him but at the same time, I wanted to warn him about the terror that waits for him.

A very good thriller that captures real life very well. In fact my favorite part of the book was the romantic subplot. The story was fast paced but never rushed. It's a great book to enjoy on vacation. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next from this promising writer.

A brilliant horror tale, in the perfect set

Footfalls is everything that you want in a horror story, pitting an honest and likable cast of characters against a mysterious (and seriously creepy) nemesis. Gresham's brilliant attention to detail in the portrayal of everyday life -- such as how a dog acts as his owner returns home, the way someone kicks off their boots, or a co-workers love for odd-tasting pizza -- adds considerable depth to the story, and I was pleased to see that the book maintained this quality through to the end. The author paints a vivid and highly immersive setting that drew me in from the beginning, putting me in the middle of a picture-perfect midwest town.

Footfalls is eerie, chilling, and haunting, but not overly graphic or terrifying; replacing gore with clever hints of danger and the type of steadily-growing tension that puts you on the edge of your seat. It is easy to read, and the short chapters make it easy to put down and pick up -- although I rarely put it down, devouring the entire story over a weekend. Footsteps is well written, well crafted, completely enjoyable, and highly recommended.

Horror is not my normal genre to read, but this book gave the fun of a horror book (suspense) without unwanted gore. The writing style is engaging and short chapters keep you wanting to read just a few more pages....until you realize you've read many more pages. The characters are well-developed, so you easily develop a relationship with them. The 1970's flashback sections brought back to mind many childhood memories. This book is a fun, quick read.

It will make you laugh, cry and say, "Lord why." It has been a source of inspiration and strength to me. This book will encourage the reader to persevere in whatever he / she is going through. Once one begins to read the book, it is hard to put down.

Are you looking for a fresh way to dig into God's word with a small group of women? This six-week study is designed as a journey through Paul's book of freedom. Author Sarah Howell has a heart for modern teens and women through writing studies infused with pop culture and music.

Each week highlights lyrics from a different secular artist, including Kelly Clarkson, U2, Coldplay, Avril Lavigne, and Tim McGraw. The author instructs readers to download certain songs from their iPods for a true multi-media interactive experience.

For women longing to be set free from the world's way of thinking, Howell's study will help set them free by the love of Christ.

Dear Amazon ~

Galatians: Breakaway to Freedom Bible Study is a refreshing departure from the run-of-the-mill variety. It is soulful, warm, enchanting, and simple to grasp. It is ideally suited to the IPOD generation; relating to them on every level. I foresee this book exploding onto the scene in college/career classes everywhere. It has been said that "only the unmet need can motivate." Anyone exposed to this study will be MOTIVATED because it definitely fills the unmet void in the lives of so many twenty-somethings in this postmodern era. I give this study a resounding 2 thumbs up!

The bible study was amazing. I really enjoyed how Sarah incorporated the use of secular music to parallel points within each study. Something that I have never thought to do. The study really brought me into more deeper relationship with Christ by me realzing that I was set free from common life disturbances. Our girls bible study group was able to relate to the issues that were brought up each week and the weekly studies aren't too time demanding either.

I really enjoyed reading this book again after Sister Hinkley's recent passing. It was a fun and enjoyable way to get a peek into her life. She truly had an inspiring spirit, and a magical sense of humor that put everyone around her at ease instantly.

This is a book to be read at times of happiness, or in times of trouble. It is a great gift for any LDS household, and even for those who are not of this faith. There are so many wonderful insights about living and loving in this book.

It is such a great book. She told a story aout when her and President Hinckley were about to get married. He talked to her and wanted her to know that he only had $25 to his name. When you need a boost-- look at this remarkable women's example and you will be inspired to "carry on," as you are reminded of the most important things in life. Published transcripts of talks are risky. Sometimes a lecture that is powerfully persuasive because of the personal charisma of the speaker comes across as dull and uninspiring when read. This is usually (but not always) an indication that there's little substance in the talk, and that its original appeal was founded more on smoke-and-mirrors than insight or wisdom.

I'm happy to say that the transcript of Father Seraphim's 1981 Santa Cruz talk, "God's Revelation to the Human Heart," comes across as well on the written page as it must've when he gave it to college students a quarter-century ago. Delivered a year before his premature death, it can be viewed as a concise statement of his spirituality.

The purpose of religion (re+legio=to reconnect), says Seraphim, is to "open up contact" with a "reality deeper than the eveyday reality that so quickly changes, rots away, leaves nothing behind, and offers no lasting happiness." In our deep hunger for this reality, we frequently settle on the one hand for effusive experiences that feel good but which don't necessarily lead us to the Truth we seek, or cold, calculative philosophies, which promise to reveal Truth for us but typically wind up dissecting it instead.

What we need do is recognize, as Pascal said in the seventeenth century, that the heart has reasons that the mind knows not. The heart, Seraphim reminds us, is that organ designed to reveal God to us, because the heart is the seat of love, and only love takes us to Truth/reality. That which reconnects us is love. But to love necessarily means to suffer, for in loving we empathically experience the pain of those whom we love. In willingly taking on the cross of suffering, we invite God to crack open our hearts and reveal both Himself (Truth/Reality) and our true identities.

The path of love/suffering defended by Father Seraphim in this lecture, then, takes us to Truth by avoiding gushy sentimentality on the one hand, and detached, rationalistic analysis on the other. His approach is the same as that defended by the Fathers in the first centuries of the Church.

Ironically--sadly--the questions asked of Seraphim by students after his talk (the transcript is included in this volume) suggest that most of his listeners just didn't get the point of what he was saying. The questions tend to be off-subject ("What do Orthodox think about non-Orthodox?" "What's the Apocalypse?" "What does Orthodoxy teach about fasting?"). But one can hope that seeds were planted. Certainly the published version of Seraphim's talk is rich and fertile for those of us fortunate enough to read it. Many thanks to St. Herman of Alaska Brotherhood for making it available.

Why Study Religion?

_God's Revelation to the Human Heart_ is the transcript of a lecture that Fr. Seraphim Rose delivered to the students of comparative religion at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1981. It can easily be read in one sitting, and although it is not the most in depth or detailed introduction to Orthodoxy, it is an insightful nonetheless. Fr. Seraphim begins his address with the question, "Why study religion?" The answer to this is to find out the meaning of Reality itself. The nature of this reality is in contrast with mundane reality, all of which eventually passes on in this world. True reality is something that cannot be perceived in a strictly empirical manner, but comes from within and glimpses at eternity. Fr. Seraphim also speaks of the search for religious experience and religious truth. An individual should not look for religious experiences per se because they can be the paths towards spiritual delusion, but rather towards Truth itself. The importance of suffering in Orthodox Christianity is also discussed, giving the well-known example of Alexander Solzhenitsyn (author of the _Gulag Archipelago_) who was persecuted by the Soviets for political dissent. Unlike in many Western countries, Christianity in Russia under communism was directly and brutally persecuted. Fr. Seraphim's conclusion discusses the spiritual rebirth that is happening in Russia today. Finally, the last few pages are the Question and Answer session after Fr. Seraphim's lecture.

This is a good little book put together from a speech given by Father Seraphim. It enlightened me early in my conversion to the Faith, and illumines the patristic understanding of human suffering as unavoidable in this life but ultimately a good thing. Buy the book, it gives courage.

What has set Fr. Seraphim Rose of blessed memory apart from his contemporaries is that he was so far ahead of his time in his writings. In this little classic, we get to see how Fr. Seraphim Rose presented material to a group of college students. The degree of clarity and foresight in his thoughts and conclusions are on a level by themselves. What I enjoy most about Fr. Seraphim is not only his conversion to Orthodoxy, but the degree in which he crucified his intellect and subjected to Christ and the early Christian Fathers. This is a quick read, that if you are like me. You will have to read it several times to plumb the depths of the writings.

Dr. Graham's book is vivid and inspirational, one of the best spiritual awakening books I've read in years. I especially like his chapter (14) about the power of naming things. Dr. Graham renames the people of God as "go-forwards" because we have slipped our feet in Jesus' sandals and have decided to go forward with him. We have set our face toward the things of God and will never turn back. I also like the humor he adds to each chapter by including personal human-interest stories from his own life. I laughed throughout the book, all the while realizing how little I really know of God, compared to Dr. Graham. I was awed by how much I have to learn. I want to re-read the book over and over again! A must read for any one who is searching for spiritual awakening.

"Graham Crackers and Milk," just the thought of that nighttime refreshment sounds soothing. There are many soothing passages in this book. It has religious, family and helpful psychological references. For instance, I had never thought about Jesus making "I am" statements: I am the bread of life. I am the resurrection and the life. I am the good shepherd. I am the vine, you are the branches. The book mentions miracles and prayers Graham said while a doctor. I also learned a lot about the beliefs of the Episcopalians. Relating family stories, we see how human a Godlike man such as Dr. Graham is by wanting his children to play down the street so he can wash his car peacefully and not sympathizing with his wife whose jewelry was stolen until he was robbed of something precious to him. He gets personal with other family stories like his wife mentioning seeing the full sun, which he changes metaphorically to full Son, bright and shining. I learned a new psychological term called triangulation and how to avoid it. We triangulate when we talk about someone who is not present. The book gave me several things to think about: How many pigs am I scrubbing right now-seeking earthly prizes that will pass away? Perhaps my favorite quote in the book was: The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety, attributed to George Muller. The questions for discussion and reflection included at the end are great for individuals or for Sunday school classes or church groups. I have read Dr. Graham's other book, "Mold Me, Shape Me." Every time I hear the story about the 4-year-old's arm being re-attached while he was a surgeon, I get chill bumps. Before reading these books, I would have written, the story about "Dr. Graham re-attaching a 4-year-old boy's arm." I am careful to say now that God has the glory for that success, not a doctor. Graham says, David did not say, "Look what we have done after battling the Philistines." He said, "Look what the Lord has done. Give God the glory for success." Dr. Graham ends with how he makes Jesus Lord of his life and second, lets God lead, guide and direct. If we put God first in our life, God will be the last thing in our life as well is another thought I went away with.

I've been enjoying the Moon Series.

Fulton's novels are refeshing and a new spin on each of them, even though the main characters (Cody and Annabel) remain the same.

A novel to take you mind off your troubles. Take this one to the beach with you.

I Can't Believe Fulton Can Keep This Up!

Jennifer Fulton has very quickly risen near the top of my list of favorite Lesbian authors. She can easily compete with the likes of L.J. Mass, Radclyffe, and Blayne Cooper. I am amazed with each new book she publishes. The Moon Island series is one of the best I've ever read. Each book is full of fresh material and storylines, and the series refuses to get dull. Three cheers for this wonderful writter!

As usual, the setting is Moon Island -- owned by Annabel, Cody, and their daughter Briar. No men are allowed on the island due to an ancient curse, the island's most advanced technology is a short wave radio, and the only way to get there is by plane or boat. Fulton also brings back Chris, a character from Book 3, and introduces a new love interest for this lonely woman.

In Book 4, Lauren Douglas, a famous soap star and daughter of a Senator, is outed by her former girlfriend. Their breakup was immediate after Lauren found her in their shower with a man. Lauren's father hires Pat Roussel to be her bodyguard. Pat has recently had her own share of problems with a seemingly unsolvable case and is on long-term leave from the FBI. Pat's goal is to remain professional and keep Lauren safe, but their hearts get in the way.

On top of it all, there is a boat full of men looking for a lost treasure just off the coast of the island. If you read Book 3, you know why this is a problem (If you haven't, you should!).

Do youself a favor -- go grab a Mai Tai, a plate of fresh pineapple, and some shade then sit down and read this book. It's one you won't soon forget and you'll be craving the next in the series.

Doesn't get any better

So far this is my favorite book in the incredible Moon Island series. I loved these two women, especially Pat, the FBI agent who's torn between her strong sense of duty and her equally strong passion for Lauren. I can see that this author also writes mystery novels because the mystery part of the story was extremely well done even though it was not the main plot of the book.
This author packs a lot of story into her pages and expertly sweeps the reader along without missing anything important. Her writing is stylish and humorous, and also packed with wonderful descriptions and observations. I couldn't put this book down. It's one of my best buys this year.

A stand out lesbian romance

I just discovered lesbian romances and I've been reading too many of them! However this one really stands out. A soap star gets outed and is being stalked by a nutty fan. Her dad hires a gorgeous butch bodyguard for her. Neither of them want to be stuck with the other, but at the same time they are hot for eachother. Lauren the star and Pat the FBI agent are very human characters who make some serious mistakes and almost have to pay for them by losing eachother. Their story is much more than just a romance. There's a gripping plot full of unexpected turns, the setting is very sensual and so is the erotic connection between the characters.
A Guarded Heart is witty and fast-paced, and also genuinely touching and satisfying. I recommend this book to anyone who wants all the enjoyment of a romance, but with wonderful writing and more emotional power than you find in most.

Splendid Escapism

While this is the fourth book in the Moon Island Series, it is the first I have read, but it is definitely not the last. A Guarded Heart by Jennifer Fulton is splendid escapism. It has everything from romance and mystery to buried treasure and erotic love scenes.

Lauren Douglas is a TV soap opera star who is closeted mainly because her father is a Congressman. Lauren's TV contract is up for renewal, but before she can score a new contract, she is outed. The Dr Kate Show uses her "morals'' clause to put her on hiatus with the urging of her father who doesn't want his political future ruined. To make matters worse, a crazy fan that has been stalking Lauren, decides to shoot her, leaving her critically wounded

FBI Special Agent Pat Roussel was burned out with her job. After spending three years searching for a serial killer and getting nowhere, she decides to take a leave-of-absence. However, the idea of staying at home and not working at all loses its appeal after several weeks. Lauren's father offers Pat the job of guarding Lauren, but he wants them out of the country so the two head off to secluded Moon Island. As an FBI agent, Pat takes her responsibility of protecting her charge very seriously, but Lauren has other plans. This conflict leaves the two at odds, leading to much friction. But not all of the tension is unpleasant.

Fulton uses Lauren's and Pat's antagonism for each other skillfully, illustrating through thoughts and actions the different needs and wants of each character. The story builds on this, creating a journey for the two of them. It begins with each having stereotypical views of each other's profession and lifestyle. It progresses to the reluctant acceptance by Lauren of the intrusive nature of being guarded, while Pat is forced to relax her hard-line professionalism and allow her tenderness to surface.

Fulton displays her mastery of sexual tension. Lauren and Pat convince themselves that they are not attracted to each other, but the reader is treated to vivid sexual fantasies that invade their thoughts. It is these revealing thoughts that tell the real story. We, as the reader, are just wondering when the two protagonists will figure out what they want. The reader must wait, and this wait is excruciating. Fulton continually teases us throughout this story, but in the end the author knows what she needs to do and executes it brilliantly.

A Guarded Heart is a journey of growth and self-discovery for Pat and Lauren. One cannot help but root for them, and in so doing, we are totally absorbed in this delightful story.

Don't buy this book, if you don't want to live, a long and
healthy life!
Don't buy this book, if you don't mind, helping your Cardiologist pay off his Ferrari!
And don't buy this book, if you don't mind, having your
entire chest cavity ripped open like a Crab shell!

But, if you want to actually "cure" your Heart disease,
instead of just "treating its symtoms", then, DO....BUY
THIS BOOK!

EECP is the #1 Heart Theraphy in China!

Buy this book and then learn why the almighty ($) based Western Medicine is much more apt to "operate", than the less invasive based (less trama and less bleeding) Eastern methods.

EECP has already been approved by the FDA for Angina!

It also works on, and CURES, Congestive Heart Failure, (since it "renews" the Heart muscle itself and is refered to as the "Natural By-pass")! It, (EECP), has also shown great results with other diseases, like Alzhiemer's, Parkinson's, Sexual Dysfunction and even Diabetes.

But it does have a very notable side effect! Most patients lose
10-12 pounds after a course of treatments! So, we might have to throw in, weight-loss!

If you have a loved one going through the pain and suffering of the current Heart treatments, you, NEED, TO BUY THIS BOOK!

EECP - passive exercise - super benefits

The following are my notes to myself on this great book.
( I take notes on each of the 200+ books I read each year)

Alternate names: virtual exercise, passive exercise, deep tissue massage, big squeeze (austistic?)
The 35 session program strengthens the cardio system - by applying pressure at the right time during each heart beat. Makes it much easier for the patient to get into exercise later.
Stronger and become better able to deliver more blood, oxygen, and nutrients.
Typically needs to have second treatment in 5 years - similar to by-pass and other heart treatments. Far less expensive than US invasive techniques.
35 session treatment plan was established in China. China now has 1,800 EECP centers (US has 650 locations) . 74% of Chinese patients maintained improvement for at least 7 years pg 58. Also patients were 4X less likely to suffer a cardiac death in the following 8 years. Chinese doctor's salary, until several years ago, was based on keeping person healthy, not on treating problems. 1 million Chinese have had EECP treatment. They use it for a wide variety of circulatory conditions, including strokes, Parkinson's disease, and visual impairments (pg 59)
Blood flow is critical to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Ancient Egyptian Medicine, and Ancient Greek Medicine pg 34
EPA approval for chronic stable angina and cardiogenic shock, then in 2002 congestive heart failure pg 61
There was a successful double-blind test of EECP in 1999.
Which prompted Medicare to being paying for that treatment for that heart problem in that year.
Very impressive international Angina statistics on page 75. 5,000 patients,
140 centers, patients had been diagnosed with heart problems for 10 years on average,
85% had undergone at least one bypass surgery or angioplasty or stent previously
42% had diabetes
32% had congestive heart failure
84% were deemed inoperable
Results after 3 years: 35% no angina, % of patients with 4 obstructed arteries went from 23% down to 5%
In the US, EECP is used for Stable Angina. Elsewhere it is used for both stable and unstable (comes on suddenly) angina - success rate being 74% and 80% respectively.
Her report on use with elderly: 24 patients with average age = 85.
96% reduced symptoms, increased activity level, and improved physical mobility - all with no adverse events. 81% maintained the benefit for at least 1 year.
Diabetes (9.5% of population) and EECP
Study of 658 patients with diabetes and symptomatic heart disease.
87% has previously had invasive procedure and were not candidates for additional surgery.
69% responded favorably and
72% still had benefits 1 year later.
None worsened. Also improved blood sugar control pg 106
Also helpful with Rheumatoid Arthritis (1% of population),
tinnitus decreased significantly in 47% after just 5-10 sessions (pg 102),
Some forms of deafness and blindness are also treated by Chinese with EECP
She believes that EECP gets you to the next fitness level, from whatever level you are at. pg 111
Sleep better; a side affect reported by many patients
While EECP is now offered to patients as treatment of last resort, various studies indicate that it could be the first treatment for heart disease. pg 123
2.4 million Americans have coronary artery disease and are considered to be inoperable. pg 123
Vasomedical leading manufacturer - 650 locations in the US 800 455 3327 www.naturalbypass.com
Washington as of Feb 2006: Seattle, Yakima, Long View, Vancouver
Poor blood flow -> blockages.
So she feels that need to work on better flow, not cleanup the consequence of poor flow. pg 124
EECP was first developed in US 30 years ago, but then widely adopted and evolved in China
Future: she believes that it will become the first treatment for heart disease, and perhaps even a way to prevent heart disease. pg 160

The only non-invasive, not the only non-surgical

I really like the sound of this treatment, no pain, no real risks and lots to gain. The book is very convincing that EECP works. Also, it is apparently covered by health insurance in the USA. The hardest thing might be committing to the one hour treatment sessions, five days a week for seven weeks.

On the down side, I was tempted to give the book 4 stars since the author trashes chelation therapy (on pg.190) but in all honesty, the EECP treatment if not the book, does deserve 5 stars! Braverman states that chelation therapy is unproven, 'harmful - even fatal - when administered to the wrong person'. I don't agree. Perhaps she is so sold on EECP that she felt it unnecessary to research chelation therapy. Having worked in a chelation clinic for over 10 years, it's my opinion that Chelation and EECP could produce far better results in tandem than either modality used alone and there seems no reason why they could not be used simultaneously, if not synergistically. After all the negative comments, there is one redeeming sentence at the end where she states "Chelation does not interfere with EECP, so you may undergo both therapies if you choose" p.191. I would be surprised if Dr Julian Whitaker, MD (from the Foreword) doesn't use both in his practice. Like chelation therapy, EECP requires some maintenance treatment down the track whether it be 1, 2 or 5 years later. A full course of EECP runs about $6,000 (covered by insurance) over 7 weeks; a full course of chelation runs about $2,000-3,000 over 10 weeks.

A Magnificent Life-Saving Book

Immensely readible and clear, this book documents the amazing efficacy of a simple, painless, out-patient procedure that resolves problems of angina and heart disease in 80% to 90% of sufferers without the pain, anxiety, costs and risks of having invasive cardiologists put stents in your arteries or attempt open heart surgery.

It shows, only too clearly, that the vast majority of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons are declining to advise patients of this option until the patients are so far gone from invasive efforts that no more can be done surgically.

At this point, if ever, these exhausted patients are told about EECP only to discover that it will work even for them.

The book also shows how double standards are used by professional entities to demand ever more "gold standard" studies of the efficacy of EECP while surgical methods, used universally, are not required to meet the same standards and, indeed, cannot ethically be tested to these standards anyway.

I learned about EECP from a Life Extension Magazine article, researched it myself and insisted on trying it. My decent and loving cardiologist readily agreed to the procedure once I raised it, agreed with my reasoning ( mainly non-invasive procedures before invasive ones), and said it had helped some of her patients. But had she told me about it before I insisted on trying it? No.

I read this book only after receiving my first EECP treatment and it explained to me, among other things, why I needed less nitroglycerine walking the dog even after one treatment of the thirty-five recommended! I do hope that all sufferers will read this book and, then, give a copy to their cardiologist.

Faced with this inspiring and documented book, I think your cardiologist will accept your wishes--as mine did--and that, in the end, the cardiology profession itself will be forced to come to its senses.
