Warm fuzzies. I have to agree that this entire book says what many people would like to say but can't put it in words. My favorite is page 56 "My Music". I come from a very musical family, so this really gave warm fuzzies. And, I love the last line. I can imagine my daughter's fiancee reading this to her - because, her name is "Melody".

"I Need To Know" is a great little book. It takes you deep into the real definition of relationship and true love. For a guy like me, who struggles to find the right words, this book really hits the mark. I am truly committed to my relationship, and this book has helped me find the right words and ideas to share with my spouse. Many times, we simply read it to each other, which then generate a lot of great conversations that we would otherwise get lost in our busy lives.
This is a great book and should be shared by all who seek to nurture and grow in love and relationships. By the way, my wife and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this year... we love each other dearly and we are setting our sights on 50!

I loved the book I Need You to Know!

The book is an in depth, emotionally touching expression of the strongest human emotion, and the ideal level of communication in which we all aspire to reach in order to express that which is hidden, untapped or merely the lack of being unable to communicate the treasures that lie within the heart.

The gentle and tender expression of H.Thomas Saylor's poems have a way of melting the heart and is a refreshing fragrance of purity, truth and hope that transcends this expression.

Thank you H.Thomas Saylor for your gift from the heart!

This book is a MUST read for all who are single or in a committed relationship. It gives insight and direction in how to have a deeper, more meaningful relationship by communicating.

I wish I had known more about this book and the author before I bought it. I was looking for subject matter for our Bible Study, and the reviews were encouraging. However, I did not know that this book was written from the perspective of a transcendentalist. The content IS good, but it does not have the Biblical backing in content that I had been hoping for. This book will still be useful, but it's going to take some work on our part to make sure the points are Biblically sound.

I was delighted with this book's uplifting and practical messages, as well as with the lovely prose. I have little pieces of yelllow sticky notes poking out of the book at places where I want to be able to find again certain poetic, well-turned phrases. Anyone who wants to become a better loving partner can find inspiration and concrete ideas in the well-organized, concise sections, stories that illustrate each section, and "questions to ask yourself" at each section's end. As a therapist, I see multiple ways to use the information in this book to help couples create more mutually satisfying relationships.

Marriage from the Heart is one of those books that doesn't come along often enough. The text is chock full of words of wisdom to share with friends and loved ones from authors who have obviously learned the truths contained therein from the trenches. This book does not belong on a dust collecting bookshelf, but on the nightstand or on the coffee table to be referred to frequently, by couples young and old, sharing relationships fresh and tarnished. Marriage from the Heart breaths new life into the self-help genre with its weaving of life experience with a good dose of philosophy and psychology, a dash of theological insight, and a splash of humor towards life's challenges, making it a perfect recipe for an open, honest, and lasting relationship.

I like how this book applies itself more towards strengthening an existing relationship rather than fixing a broken one (although the techniques presented are applicable to both situations). In fact, the content of this book could easily be applied to non-romantic relationships as well. The authors style and liberal use of applicable anecdotes yields an easy and enjoyable read. I will be sending copies to both of my sisters.

This book is very small, but has a hard cover. It is just right to tuck in another gift as an extra surprise. Even though I have read this book before, it still has the power to touch me and help me take inventory of my walk with God. Sometimes we do tend to leave Christ out of certain areas of our lives, and this book opens your eyes to see these areas, but it is done in a very loving way. I was going to order some more copies as gifts, but have not been able to find this particular edition on Amazon again. Perhaps, I will take another look to see if I have missed it.

I realize that this booklet has been highly reviewed by others, and I can understand why. "My Heart-Christ's Home" is essentially an extended analogy between our lives and our homes. Munger translates the common evangelical idea of inviting Jesus to live in our hearts into a situation in which Jesus is invited to physically live in our house. He walks through the house and describes how Jesus would interact with each part.

It's an interesting analogy, relatively well-executed. My critique is that it definitely enters the world of cheesiness a few times, going overboard with the "Christ as my buddy-buddy" idea. Though personalizing Jesus is helpful, there is something hokey about a picture of Jesus in bathroom slippers sitting in my living room reading the newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. Maybe this is just a reflection of the pamphlet showing its age.

I was also overwhelmed by the brevity of this "book." It can easily be read in one sitting, which is convenient. However, I would have preferred something more substantive. Ultimately, this booklet is solid and worthwhile, if somewhat incomplete.

My Heart-Christ's Home is a clear, easy-to-read book that talks about how you should refine and shape your heart for Christ's home. Pastor Munger uses his home and Christ as his guest for an example . If you are struggling with finding room for Christ in your heart, I highly recommend this book. It teaches you how to "clean your heart" and only set it aside for God.

What an ordeal Matthew has overcome, he shows remarkable faith.
From childhood to adult he has "watched" those heartbeats, because, for him, they often go awry.

Now he sells the devices that help stop sudden cardiac death. A real testament to someone using their own product!

If you liked this book, try another on the same subject, written from the perspective of a spouse (me!) of a sudden cardiac arrest survivor. It's called A HEART TOO GOOD TO DIE: A shocking story of Sudden Cardiac Arrest

I am a Pacemaker/ICD nurse and was recommended this book by one of our reps. I LOVED this book...and read it in a day. I can't wait to share it with my husband and teenage sons, my friends and co-workers, and our church youth group leader. I will definintely recommend it to my patients...and plan on purchasing extra copies just to share.

Matt tells his story with so much clarity...I just felt like I knew him! There is never a hint of self-pity, instead there was a focus on how God has a plan for our lives and by releasing our own plans and fears to God, we can find hope. His faith in Christ is presented in such a way that it couldn't help inspiring believers and nonbelievers alike.

"One Beat at a Time"--simply put is riveting book. The author grabs the reader and tells an incredible story of hardship, uncertainty, and leaves the reader with questioning themselves: what is really important in life?
The manner in which this story is unraveled reveals insight into what it would be like to live each day as if it were your last.
As a physician, this book has provided insight into the daily thoughts, feelings and fears of patients that have similar conditions (implanted defibrillators and being at risk for sudden cardiac death). What is striking is the positive attitude and fortitude the author incorporated into his writing. One cannot help but empathize for him and his family.
I would highly recommend this book to patients, family members, medical care workers and everyone looking to put their own lives into perspective. After reading this book, I feel I learned more about the vulnerability of life and the need to prioritize the way I live.
Without revealing too much, my favorite parts were about how these events in his life psychologically impacted the people around him.
Secondly, one part of the book that struck a chord with me was on Page 34. He states that "None of us lives the perfect life.....we all do things in life that depart from the choices expected.... This part of the book really go to me in that, sometimes people are lead to believe that wrongs committed are reasons for current misfortunes especially in circumstances that are beyond control such as medical events. In my life, this dealt with these feelings I had about an illness that occurred in my mother when I was a child that I felt I caused by my wrong actions.
As a cardiologist "in-training" I verify that this book is very accurate. As a person and a family member, I recommend this book to anyone to "put their own life in perspective".

I read this book in 3 1/2 hours. I was hooked from the beginning acknowledgments to the last printed word. I literally could not put it down until I had devoured every word. It was as if Matthew Noble was in my living room telling me the story of his life...and I wanted to hear about it! I was moved to tears at times, laughter at times and always inspired. I realized that my few "struggles" in life could in no way compete with the daily chore of "living" that Matthew had to deal with every single day of his life. He is an inspiration to behold and a man filled with courage, strength, and devotion. I recommend this book as a "MUST READ" to anyone and everyone...period. I promise it will make you evaluate your own life as it did for me. I want to thank Matthew for sharing his amazing life with me and with the world. I look forward to reading anything else he may be working on.

I enjoyed Matthews story of his personal struggle and survival with an early implanted ICD. He has lived with his for over 10 years, and it gives hope to those like me who have just received theirs. I had a massive heart attack at 40, and my ICD gives me and my family the peace of mind to go on living, just as Matthew talks about. This book is good for your soul.

Dr. Lester Sauvage, the founder of the Hope Heart Institute in Seattle, wrote The Open Heart, one of the most uplifting books I've ever read. He describes his philosophy and practice of open-heart surgery, and then turns the book over to a number of his patients, who describe their treatment and recovery. It's humbling and inspiring to read of the challenges some people face just to prepare an evening meal or walk to the store to buy food for a loved pet. This book is a great read about those who love life itself.

A primer in how we should live, "Open Your Mind, Open Your Heart" is an endearing collection of words to the wise. Like having a favorite grandparent at your side to remind you of these things, the book offers guidance in life.

The first half of the book is full of these reminders; from think positive to speak kindly, honesty matters and trust is key. Though these statements are words of wisdom and worthy reminders to readers, we don't tend to learn from simple statements. It takes a good parable, a story to get the message across meaningfully. The second half of the book does a better job at this by using poems to portray the messages. Simple and straightforward, they lend meaning to the messages and will likely be remembered more.

The author shares her wisdom in this lovely little book on life. It would be perfect as a gift to a young college student or to young adults who are setting out on their own, grandchildren and children as they begin new adventures and anyone who needs a reminder in the area of self discovery.

In reading this book, I traveled on a wonderful and thought inspiring journey of a reaffirmation of life. Marie Giles opened her heart and soul to eloquently pour on to the written page what most of us would find a struggle just to bring forth in a coherent thought. As I read her words, it is as if she has some how reached inside my being and helped to articulate to my guiding principals. I truly enjoyed and continue to enjoy this book as I keep it on my desk at work and when I need a break from a stressful situation or just a quick pick-me up I read a page or two. Thank you Marie Giles for your wonderful words!!!

This book expresses, in simple words, rich lessons that create a happier and more responsible life. The author, with warm and sincere openness, does a remarkable job of implicitly encouraging the reader to examine his own personal relationships with self, family, friends, community...world - to create a more positive outcome. It teaches that when we change others will change. After reading the book, the reader is left with a feeling of importance and well-being - that he, too, has the power to make a difference not only in his life, but in the lives of others. It will entice the reader to unlock what he already has inside - love, peace, joy, kindness... Mrs. Giles' personable expressions and desire to touch others in a positive way draws the reader vicariously into a one-on-one dialog.

She gives you many things to think about - the impact of your behavior on others, loving and respecting others as equal to yourself, being open and honest with self and others, being sensitive and aware of others' needs, seeking positive solutions to relationships, and considering your own legacy.

The reader does not have to read the entire book at once to receive the full impact of the lessons. Each lesson is stand-a-lone, yet inter-connected to make for a more positive and fulfilled life.

I read this because my Parenting from the lungs just made me feel bad and didn't work. As I read each page, I thought, this is how I want to "be" in all my relationships. I have found the simplicity and loving focus on the book to bring me back to what I knew when my children were born. Sometimes it seems too simple, but when that thought comes to me, I think of the other options and realize that only coming from love, holding my children as the perfect wise people that they are helps us move toward understanding and growth together. This book helped me change my relationship with my children and partner in a way that almost seemed to easy to explain. Dr. Pransky does it with ease. Thanks for writing from the heart!

This was my first Doris Johnson book, but it won't be my last.

The storyline enveloped me from the beginning, and I was no less engrossed by the time I finished the book.

The author uses a dysfunctional family(to say the least) to bring out some real life issues/concerns. Her delivery is strong, and the characters that she uses to bring the story to life are PERFECT! You won't soon forget any of the players in this novel.

Yet, even with all the sidebar melodrama, Ms. Johnson still presents a sizzling romance between Steven and Diamond. She has proven that a romance novel can still have some "depth"

Read it, you won't be disappointed.

"Precious Heart" was an eye opener. It was a good book. This was my first book by Doris Johnson. Ms. Johnson expressed the issue of organ donation from two views -- the importance of organ donation, as well as the negative views regarding organ donation.

Diamond was a sincere person. She had negative views against organ donation, but proceeded to see how an organ recepient lived after being awarded a precious gift and given another chance to survive.

"Precious Heart" was a learning experience. Not only did Diamond have to cope with losing her beloved mother, but with knowing the receipient of her mother's heart. Diamond became embroiled in the receipient's family's matters. Diamond and Steven fell in love. She became a mentor to Steven's teenage niece, and an assistant to Steven's mother, the heart receipient.

"Precious Heart" was about life, caring, and most important of all -- love and the gift of sharing.

Good book, Ms. Johnson. I look forward to reading other books by you.

Thought-inspiring, passion-filled romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. In a mere 376 pages, Ms. Johnson skilfully wove an entrancing tale with well developed, complex characters, an interesting plot and thought provoking themes. The story took me through a wide range of emotions - I laughed, cried, sighed and ranted and raved through the story. Diamond and Steven are going to be heroes for me for a long time to come. Diamond - who chooses to face her fears head on and come to grips with them, who cares enough about a young stranger to want to befriend and help her, who gives her all to the one she loves. Steven - who is haunted by the memory of a lost love, who overcomes his fear of that kind of commitment and resulting pain to truly love again, who takes on the burden of trying to hold together a family bent on destruction, who cares about his loved ones even when they appear to do everything to push him away. The story touched on social issues like class prejudice and dysfunctional families as well as organ donation. And in spite of all that, it was an amazingly wonderful, passion-filled romance. The issues were all addressed in a way that made them real and not superficial or secondary, but at the same time the story was not heavy or depressing.

Kudos to you Ms. Johnson. I am now an avid fan!

In her wonderfully clear style, Ann Stewart uses beautifully and simply stated word-pictures to give new life to the familiar old story of the first Christmas. As she reintroduces me to the the story's priciple figures, I'm attracted anew to long-forgotten details filling all of it with fresh new meaning. My wife and I are using Ann's book as our daily devotional guide leading up to Christmas. Has Christmas grown dull and cold to you? Let Ann help you Prepare Your Heart for Advent. You'll be forever glad you did.

Our women's Bible study group studied this book this year. It was a wonderful spiritual journey; however, the amount of study involved surprised us as we were expecting it to lessen our stress load - not increase it. We ended up taking 10 weeks to complete the study because there was so much spiritual food plus interesting facts about our favorite Christmas carols. The daily devotionals for December - January 6th were an added blessing.

Christmas for me just comes rolling in, with many to do's and a longing for the "joy" that is suppose to come with all those to do's. This book truly prepared my heart in so many ways, my Advent season will never be the same this year, and for years to come. The book led me to often feel like a detective sifting through many parts of the Bible, only to discover over and over again God's perfect plan and his saving grace for the world through Jesus. If you are one who is searching for a Christmas Joy that is deep and true, read this book, and it will lead you to a Joy that lasts. A book I will re-read every year!

This book is a delight because the author recognizes our desire to approach Chritmas with joy and the crazy demands placed on all of that at that busy time of the year. I love the concept of "preparing my heart" in November when things are more calm and then reaping the rewards in December. I strongly recommend this book!

Sometimes in all of our good intentions, we get wrapped up in the preparations: baking goodies, meals, traditions, gifts and commercialism that has become part of the holiday. We forget to prepare our HEARTS as well. How ideal for Ann to delight us with the Word every day of November, when the stress and the chaos is beginning to close in on us. This study is a wonderful journey back in time. With scripture and a thought provoking lesson, Ann sets the stage for the most beautfiul story ever written, the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of Christ! The study is written from a woman's perspective with our unique questions and concerns. It is sure to capture your heart, and light a flame for our Savior. You will not be the same after this book. It has changed the way I approach the holiday season. I am filled with a joy and peace that can only be found in Jesus Christ. I wish the same for you this Christmas. Please take the time for this study. You will be richly blessed.

In the many years of my personal spiritual path I have read many books and learned a great deal. This book was written from a place honesty and spirit. For those of you who are intuitives like myself, you will find comfort and more validation of your path. Anyone can gain from these insights, experiences, and exercises. This book was written with down to earth humor and complete realness. This was my birthday present to myself this year. I don't suggest, however, waiting for your next special occasion. Two thumbs up to Darrin

Wow. This book felt like an authentic and sincere gift from Darrin Owen's heart directly into my own...I was fortunate enough to see Darrin speak several times while he was on tour in San Francisco and there is no denying that the holy spirit is working through this wonderful man in special ways!! His style is entertaining and uplifting, his readings were spot on, and I walked away with tons of spiritual wisdom I was able to directly apply to my life.

Buy the book....and google his website so you can see when/if he is going to be in speaking in your area! He's fabulous and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Go check out his work and decide for yourself. You won't be sorry.

I haven't ever read a spiritual book that delivered itself with such candor. This book gives you a good understanding on how to look towards a more fulfilled life, and makes you want to learn more. I have read the book cover to cover many times and often find myself looking over different chapters so that I can gain a better perspective on life's ups and downs.

What to do while waiting on the path?
Darrin clearly defines stages of the psychic journey. He also demonstrates where one can obtain the fuel to accomplish the journey remaining. "In other words, divine guidance keeps you manifesting the destiny that is all your own."
The cover design caught my attention. The content spoke wisely to my heart.
With eternity as the background, why should we feel rushed.
