This book is about the class war federerations tabloid (Class War). It contains the history of the paper, and events surrounding it, very interesting for anyone interested in class politics and direct action. Not much on the deeper side of the politics, refer to their book "Unfinished Business" for the politics behind the chaos. Great stories, comics, and propaganda graphics, a must have for syndicalists and anyone into what democracy really looks like.

As a revered scholar, philanthropist and spiritual authority, Claude Montefiore belongs to that important group of learned laymen who have sought to revolutionize Judaism. He was a founder of British Liberal Judaism at the turn of the century, considered to be the most original Anglo-Jewish religious thinker of his day, and still remains a highly controversial figure. Montefiore infuriated his enemies and often alienated his supporters with his radical agenda in which he applied the findings of historical and literary analysis to the Jewish scriptures, attempted to radically systemize rabbinic thought, and by his desire to learn from and re-express aspects of Christian theology. The extent to which he incorporated the teachings of Jesus and Paul into his own ethical and theological musings makes him unique among Jewish reformers. In his dealings with Christians and Christian thought, he can also be regarded as a forerunner to those who would later fully partake in Jewish-Christian dialogue. "The Life and Thought of Claude Montefiore" is an intellectual history and biography, together with an attempt to place Montefiore within the context of Jewish thought during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Controversially, it argues that Montefiore's own personal conception of Liberal Judaism, which was never fully appreciated by his followers, should be regarded as more than simply a progressive Jewish denomination, and rather as an attempt to re-mould Reform Judaism in terms of contemporary liberal Christianity. Montefiore is an important figure in Anglo-Jewish history, not least for the way in which his complex identity reflects the difficulty inherent in attempting to make Judaism genuinely relevant to the modern world.

Clay's Handbook of Environmental Health is a consice guide to the career of Environmental Health, and provides an exellent tool for any Enviromental Health Officer. The handbook covers the main areas of Environmental health, and is useful as a all round guide of the career. Clay's is a good study guide, and reference guide for students studying Environmental Health ,and would be an investment to any student as it acts as a good bookcase filled to aid newly qualified students, and when not using it , it acts as a wonderful doorstop. Clay's handbook of Environmental Health is a very good basebook and is very useful to the new EHO starting out in their career.

I couldn't put the book down until I'd read the last page. Sir Cliff is truly one of the most admirable men I've read about. He has worked very hard to be where he is now. Never have I read such an insightful book about British foreign policy after the second world war. This book was obviously thoroughly researched and Blackwell obviously is very knowledgeable of British and European history.

Prior to Hendrie's recently released "Cinderella Service" this was the best overall review of Coastal Command Operations during WW2 I had read. I bought a copy for my father as well. Well written and thorough it remains a good staple reference. It covers joint service operations from the start of the war to the end of hostilities.

A great addition to your bookshelf, but hard to find now as it's out of print.

Excellent Map. Everything you need is on one side. Color coded attractions and Metro are well marked.

This wonderful book gives a rendition of the world since 1945. Many events that have been hitherto forgotten, are covered, such as the Yemenite Civil war and the Cyprus emergency. This is an eminently fair account of almost every major world crises since 1945. The idea is to present the weakening of the world powers throughout the world, and the rise of new conflicts. We see the epic encounters of the Great Powers with smaller powers, such as the Vietnam war. Important conflicts such as that between Israel and the Arab world is given a fair and unbiased explanation.

Smaller conflicts such as the Falklands are also covered, as well as the international system during the cold war. Anyone interested in Current events or the post war world would do well to pick this book up.

As the only survivor of the New Model Army of Cromwell, the Coldstreamers have proved to be very adaptable and above all survivors. (Good traits to have in a soldier) This good book covers the history of this elite Unit from its frist fight at Dunbar to the end of WWII. The illustrations are very good and interesting. Altogether a 1st rate job and well done to all hands involved.
