You're the Best Friends Anybody Ever Had! - Dorothy, from MGM's Wizard of Oz

I love this book, and recommend the hard-back edition if you can find it! It is nostalgic, collectible fun for the true Oz fan. Photos are all black and white, but large, rare stills you don't often see. It gives a basic, but thorough description of the story line, the filming process of the movie, the casting, production trends, music, and what makes this movie a classic. "Super Cute!" I'm into cute, and would purchase this book for any little one who loves the movie as much as I do. Fun gift for an older senior, who doesn't want to focus on the words so much as read something sweet, that is easy and informative. A terrific basic read on a timeless film-classic, and a worthwhile collectible.

A unique American story told well

I picked up this book by chance while on vacation in Alaska. I almost didn't buy it, but the picture on the cover was so adorable of the author as a child that I couldn't resist.
THE DRAGLINE KID is a memoir about a girl growing up in Alaska and how she overcame unforeseen obstacles to find success and happiness. The classic American story. Who says someone has to be famous for their life struggles to be worth reading. I am so bored by books about Princess Diana and Elizabeth Taylor. With all the recent talk of tragedy and terrorism, what an inspiration it is to read a unique American story about an "unfamous" person who simply tells it well. Her narration is so familiar, it is as if she is right there in front of you sharing her life; like an old friend or someone you should already know.
I especially recommend this book to anyone who grew up in remote or rural surroundings. They will identify with the author's innocence and sense of humor. It is also a great telling of life in territorial Alaska and a good read for anyone interested in Alaska history, pioneer life or women's history.

GORGEOUS EPIC FANTASY!

Dragon Arms by David Hutchison begins an epic, Manga-stlye heroic fantasy in the grandest traditions of Tolkien, Jordan, and Leiber. In the opening volume we find a world under they tyranny of Lord Eon and his demonic servants known as the Majin who are seeking to dominate all the free peoples of Lordez. They spread across the land conquering and destroying anyone who dares to oppose them. But there is hope, the legendary wizard Anrack, long thought dead has returned and assembled a group of powerful heroes to oppose Eon and his forces. Among them is Kyoko who wields a many-bladed whip, Stone who was formerly a trusted lieutenant of Eon's but who now champions the cause of good, and the mysterious Naga who is related to the ancient dragon-kin and may hold the key to defeating Eon. The group travel to the ancient temple of Harsi-Kell to find the legendary dragon arms but find the temple already ransacked by Eon and the ancient weapons destroyed.
Starting with the fantastic art, Dragon Arms is a spectacular story. It reprints the first five issues of the regular comic from Antarctic press into Manga format. The action and panels flow beautifully and it's truly a gorgeous book. The combination of heroic fantasy and Manga elements blends quite well. Hutchisons renditions of the terrifying Majin are truly evil and vile, and as pointed out in the story, even more a threat than Eon himself. The story moves briskly and before I knew it I was at the end and wanting more. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

My son Danny, now fifteen years old, had one favorite book through his childhood - Dragonbones. Second favorite were the Treehouse Series.
I must have read this book aloud to Danny at least twenty times. Good thing I enjoyed it, too!

The Synopsis was decent, but left out a few things. This package comes with 8 dice, 1 Monster from 20, 1 Rare from 25, 2 Uncommons from 25, and 4 Commons from 25. There are 5 races from which the dice are selected, Coral Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Lava Elves, and Amazons. This really helps when putting together a good army. This comes with NO DRAGONS. Great product, I've bought over 40 of these.

The Dragon Dice "Dragon Sheild" is a must-buy for anyone who wants to really connect with the game. The Dragon Sheild itself is VERY useful for places such as tournaments, with the quick-referance on the back that shows all sides of every die of the original 4 races, and the beautiful battle scene on the front side makes a stunning effect of the battle about to be fought, especially if all players have them while setting up. This "sheild" does a good job of keeping your strategy secret while constructing armies. The price is a bit high for a large piece of cardboard, but there is compensation. With the sheild, you also get a short book that tells the creation story of the fictional world of Dragon Dice, and has a short story and poem. A beautiful set, and a must-have for all players.

If you love fantasy and books that talk about a time of dragons, mages, elves, dwarfs, and many other races that fight for the balance of good and evil, this is the type of book for you. Out of all the fantasys written, I think the Dragon Lance saga is the best fantasy saga ever written. Everything you might have wonders about, like how magic can be cast and used in the real world or any other questions, will be answered for you in these books and will carry you through an excellent realm of fantasy where you will gain feelings for the characters and actually become part of the book itself.
