What could be better than pre-painted plastic miniatures for your Star Wars roleplaying neeeds? I highly recommend these to anyone playing the game or just into collecting Star Wars stuff. The detailing is better than anything I could achieve if I painted them. Open a box and get ready to play!

Catch it while it lasts!

This is an ideal intro to Star Wars Miniatures, and it's pretty cheap too! If you want to get into Minis start with this one. The only problem is that the board is paper and prone to ripping. Laminate it and you're good to go!

A quick, enjoyable read. If you're looking for a book with good character development and a plot so gripping you can't put it down, this is the book for you. Put yourself in the hands of a writer who knows what he's doing.

A new kind of mystery!!!

Tamshi's Imp is, by far, my favorite book Jonathan has written. This is where he first introduces his world of wizards and magic (which you will recognize in Children of Rhatlan). Tamshi is a sorceress who has lost her memory and her imp familiar Blue. She soon realizes she has been worshipping an evil god. Tamshi can not trust anyone or anything. She feels she is being possessed and is fighting to find the truth.

This book left me paralyzed up to the last pages. There's so many twists and turns, I am compelled to read it again and again. This is going to be one of my hardest reviews. Tamshi's Imp is so intense with one thing happening after another, I do not know how to start or how to explain without destroying the ending of this amazing story. Fate!!! That is the only way to explain it. I'm a high believer in everything happens for a reason. Tamshi is basically led through a twisted path to find out her past. Every turn she takes she is finding out something new, meeting someone who knows the "truth" or atleast can help guide her in the right direction. There is a lot of betrayal and evil, which makes it very confusing and hard for Tamshi to succeed in restoring her life. When reading this book pay close attention to it. Try to read in between the lines. Fate will soon reveal itself.

Definitely worth the read!

I just finished reading Tamshi's Imp last night, and I can whole-heartedly recommend it to one and all, especially the avid fantasy fan. Jonathan really does a superb job of spinning a tale that is original, captivating, and a just-plain-great read. And even the best guesser will be thrown by the major plot twist-- it's worth the read just to see if it fools you too! Likeable characters, great descriptive narration, and true originality make this book a winner. Fantastic!

Wizardry and sorcerory have had negative conotations. Carlos Castenada helped to portray sorcerors in a better light. This reveals Merlin as a Seer (like the prophet Samuel). This book is filled with terrific insights. It may be the universe teaching us about the next step.

I found myself relating not only the symbolism of the Arthurian Lengend to my own real life in this time, but also other symbols that had been in my life but without interpretation until after listening to the book version of Chopra's "Way of the Wizard." So much more of my life became clear to me. I might have preferred another reader (perhaps I will read the written version). Nonetheless, I found the book quite inspiring and highly recommend it.

The Wizard of Ads is an exciting approach to advertising that uses wit, philosophy, and inspiration to educate the reader on succesful advertising for any business. From ad copy to strategy, the Wizard of Ads supplies short, easy-to-read vignettes that can be directly applied to many specific issues an advertiser may encounter. I often refer back to these books to tackle daily encounters and share them with my clients because they are presented in such a way that makes perfect sense. I liken these brief essays to parables told by Jesus in the Bible. They are perfect metaphors for so many things we deal with as advertisers.

What is branding? How do people really remember you? How do you build your brand? These books get back to the basics. There really is a magical formula. For you. For your company.

I bought these books because it was different. It disagreed with everything I had previously learnt. This book can change the way you think. Forever. My mind turns in a completely new direction. Seeing things from a complete new angle. How can anybody pass up such an opportunity?

I found Zack's book The Wizard of Flaws to be an outstanding book. He turned a childhood classic into a superb modern day poetry book. This book shows a reader an alternate side to many characters from the Wizard of Oz. I found it to be something that any Wizard of Oz collector must have, to complete there collections. I own this book and highly recommend it.

This book of poetry depicts such insightful reading into the mind of a gifted writer.
Zack was able to touch us with a vision that sees behind the doors of the magical kingdom of oz.
The depth of his works guides us on a tour past false images lacking the right pair of glasses to see. He then fits our eyes properly awakening each step upon the yellow road of many truths.
Beautiful imagery travelling in this world of magical words.

I only have 1 complaint about this book: it needs to be updated every few years!! This Oz "reference book" is an absolute must-have for Oz fans and collectors. It's like looking through the Christmas "Wish Books" from the department stores when you were a kid, saying, "I have that......I want that......I need that...!"

The photographs are a feast for the eyes! The text is perfect. The research that went into this book is unbelievable.

If you can get your hands on this gem, BUT IT NOW!!

I really love this calendar. Because who doesn't have fond memories of "The Wizard of Oz" or Judy Garland? The pictures are really beautiful. There's only 1 black and white and the rest are all in color. The paper isn't the shiny magazine type of paper, instead it's thicker and doesn't have a glare to it; so IMO this almost gives it a retro or a nostalgic look. I also enjoy how each month is color-coded. For example February is in pink and red, March is green and of course July is red, white & blue! My favorite month is April because this includes a lovely picture of Dorothy and Glenda. With the "Wizard of Oz" every day this year can be a good day, if you work at it!

Past Wizard of Oz calendars have had colorized and bastardized images from the movie that I suppose were considered "artistic," however, for die-hard fanatics like me who want their images "pure," this calendar offers real frame-blowups (done well, too) from the actual film itself. Fun graphics and comments throughout, this is the nicest licensed Oz calendar in years.

I RECENTLY BORROWED THIS BOOK FROM A FRIEND AND DID NOT EXPECT IT TO BE AS ENTERTAINING AS I FOUND IT TO BE. MR. SAMPEY HAS HAD A LIFE THAT MANY PEOPLE SEE ONLY IN MOVIES. HE HAS OVERCOME MANY HARDSHIPS IN LIFE AND STILL SEEMS TO HAVE A POSIOTIVE OUTLOOK. THE SCIENTIFIC PARTS OF HIS BOOK CAUSED ME TO SLOW DOWN A LITTLE IN THE BOOK, BUT I NEVER LOST INTEREST IS WHAT HIS NEXT EXPERIENCES AND ADVENTURES HAD IN STORE FOR HIM. ALONG WITH BEING VERY ENTERTAINING, THIS BOOK SHOULD INSPIRE PEOPLE TO NEVER GIVE UP. MR.SAMPEY IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM COME TRUE. HIS STORY WOULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE.

If you are interested in shamanic subjects & are reading people like John Perkins and Carlos Castaneda, then you will want to read this.... which pre-dates those. This is a story not an essay or direct teaching, but understandings are there for the taking. I come away from this book (read in one day) appreciative but also with a vague wondering if the story is exactly as it seems... did it really happen? does it matter if it really happened?

A beautiful and enthralling story

An authentic account from the early twentieth centry of villiage life in the Amazon jungle. Told in a simple and direct manner, one is captivated by the sophisticated and complete social life of the Indian people. Since it is a first hand account , non-anthropological, one gets a glimpse of a way of life rich in religious, cultural and human acheivement. It offers insights into the way of life of the Huni Kui people, and into the Western way of life, both complete and wonderful in their own right, but utterly seperate. The civilization of the Huni Kui people is hard to relate to the animalistic, instinctual slavery of the greed driven capitalist world, where everything is reduced to its financial worth, as oppossed to its intrinsic value. Although the Huni Kui people are ultimately pragmatic about the world they live in, their intellectual integrity allows for recognition of the interdependence of all life. This is explored in the book through enjoyable tales of hunting trips, religious ceremonies and villiage incidents, revealing a taste of the satisfaction of an integrated way of life, apart from the materialistic fantasies engaged in by the machinistic, beurocratic Western worldview.

This is a second hand account that is written with beautiful clarity. The story, which was related by Manuel Cordova to the author, unfolds in an entirely believable way. It tells of Manuel Cordova's kidnapping when he was a teenager working for rubber cutters in the Amazon in the early 1900s. He was forced by a group of Indians to undergo a long march through the jungle, several hundred miles to a very remote, primitive Indian village. These Indians were of a fierce hunting disposition, and had fled into the interior because they refused to give into the slavery imposed on them by rubber barons.

Cordova must learn how to adapt to primitive, tribal conditions where a Chief must control his people's impulses enough to keep the tribe from spinning apart. The Chief must also assure that his people are able to thrive as hunters in a hostile environment, where a dense jungle covers almost everything and dangers lurk. Success as a hunter requires a lot of knowledge, and that knowledge is acquired not only through experience but through ingesting Ayahuasca (See "DMT, the Spirit Molecule" by Strassman). Cordova relates the extraordinary sessions that were very carefully planned and taken very seriously. By the use of chants and cues given by the Chief, the particpants experienced in unison non-ordinary sensual perception that brought them in touch with the life of the forest.

Although I felt some sympathy for these Indians, who had the wits to evade forces greater than themselves, I got the impression that they were basically an unruly, impulsive bunch easily influenced to the point of being motivated above all by vengence. The violence of their hunting lives seemed to supersede in large part a sacred regard for their environment gained from their shamanistic experiences. That was my impression anyway. For his part, Manual Cordova put his shamanistic experiences, his knowledge of native plants, and healing ability that he acquired to good use.

"The Nine Lives of Catseye Gomez" was the first book of Simon Hawke that I read, and I was so amazed by the storyline and the writing that I went to every used bookstore I could find to try and get my hands on the entire series. "The Wizard of Whitechapel" is the second book in the series, following "The Wizard of 4th Street," and it is well worth your time if you enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, and/or creativeness. It had more of a horror twist in it that its predecessor, but it was just as good. In a conclusion which I'm sure is not necessary, get this book and all the others in the series, as well as some of his other works. You (probably) won't regret it.
