The Particular Flavor of the CotswoldsReview Date: 2006-05-25
But what North and Nicholson have elected as a tour is to knock on doors of various citizens who are not necessarily those with wealth, moneywise, but those who make life more beautiful. We visit the homes of florists, designers, craftsmen - the regular people of the streets and lanes of this beautiful region, and the book feels like a neighborly stroll. Interiors demonstrate the use of the elements of Cotswold design that are often copied in United States homes, but here retain the basic simplicity of functional design.
The paths and gardens are also scanned in this beautifully designed book. For those interested in traveling through England or for those with special interest in the Cotswold style, this book is well worth the investment. Grady Harp, May 06

A Wonderful Collection!Review Date: 2000-05-31
Mitchell explores human desire and the hungers of this animal existence. "Think flicker and fluid and flow" and you will be caught up in the lyrical transformation that the language lures us into. The poems pull and tug and tempt and stir. Their worlds are worlds worth entering. "What is so strange / it feels like home? It calls. I follow."

Not For Casual BEATLES FanReview Date: 2005-07-05
For instance: "She's A Woman" has a four-beat count off by Paul in a more uncommonly heard stereo mix. In the final verse of "Your Mother Should Know" the vocal and percussion tracks were electronically phased in mono; in stereo, everything was mixed flat. The original mono version of "Revolution" is heavily compressed and has John's guitar mixed way up. The stereo mix has the instruments really separated losing a lot of the power punch as originally intended. Too detailed for most?
Probably. But if you're like me and find any slight variation of a BEATLES tune to be exciting, I think you'll love this book.

A must have for teachers of EnglishReview Date: 1998-08-02
Of all the resource texts for teachers that I have read since then (and I've read MANY), this is by far the best all-around resource for the classroom teacher.
The only problems with it now, in 1998, is that it hasn't been revised. Until a 4th edition is available, this is still a top-notch resource for English/Language Arts teachers - whether you've been teaching for years or are just starting out in the profession.
