Mitchell Books

I found this book in my library, and it is a gem. Amazingly it is from the 70's and no one has updated it yet. The reality is it really isn't in need of updating, but is a work of perfection, and wonderful for rehabilitating and re-educating every joint in your body.

The program starts out with "Articulations" in which you learn how to gently move all the joints of the body, increasing mobility and flexibility.
I found this series to be incredibly powerful.
The series is Articulations, Posture Toning, and Basic Stretches on to more difficult ones.
The toes, ankle articulations are incredible. Having sprained my ankles, and still 1.5 years into recovery, I found that the toe exercises and ankle exercises (unlike any I have ever seen or been given in PT) were incredible. They seemed to assist in improving nerve conduction, control and balance in the lower body, by seemingly insignificant, and easy, gently controlled movements.
When I mentioned this to my physical therapist, he thought I was studying Alexander Technique or Feldenkrais!
I am now reading books on Alexandar Technique, and find that working through this book and its program is incredibly helpful,and combined with Alexander books, and Pilates (such as the Pilates Back book) to be a wonderful and gently but powerful, and sAFE way to restore motion, balance, flexibility, and grace into you lives (At home, and without the need for gym workouts).

I strongly recommend this book to be the best and most important book I have ever found of exercises for the human body. I can't say more better things about it. If you buy this, you will NOT be disappointed.

While this book covers many already familiar houses, the layout is thoughtful and inventive, the text is informative while including many interesting asides that make it one of the best introductions to the topic that I've seen. If you just want one book on the Arts and Crafts house, this is it.

What do you do with a caged and hungry tiger if you don't have all that much faith in the cage? Mystery and History combine to produce a fascinating tale of deception, intrigue, and murder. This is one of those books best read on a weekend when you don't really need all that much sleep. The writing style entices you to skip ahead: chapters detailing the modern-day murder investigation alternate with chapters describing the events on Elba Island in the early 1800s. At that time, European Heads of State weren't convinced that Napolean I could be effectively contained on the island to which he had been exiled. But an outright execution of the former emperor might precipitate widespread civil rebellion.
So, in steps the spy...

But how do you reconstruct a subtle murder plot which took place over 150 years ago? I'm looking forward to reading the revised edition (Assassination at St. Helena Revisited). Recommended for those who enjoy science with their mysteries. Kay O'Cullane.

This book has been helpful to me in selecting instruments for research, and would also be useful for clinical work. The authors are well-known and respected in their field.

Spiral bound book with maps showing where frogs/toads, salamanders, turtles, lizards, and snakes have been found across Virginia. There are no photographs in here - just maps by species. For the gray tree frog, for example, there is a map of Virginia with the county lines drawn. There are dots on the map showing where the frog has been identified. There's also a small map of the US with the broader distribution of the species shown so you can see how isolated or not the species is. There's just a brief paragraph that tals about the species so you need to look to other books for habitat needs, reproductions, etc. This is a super resouce. I'm really glad I found it as I start getting into amphibian monitoring.

There are 194 mammal species living in Europe. Some of them are common, widespread and well known, but others are rare and mysterious. What makes the Atlas especially valuable is that it gives accounts on all of them. Equally. I personally use it either to find out what species could be expected in a given geographical region (going on vacation somewhere?), or I seek what species of a given higher taxonomic unit occur in Europe and finally, one can find detailed information on distribution border line of the species of interest. The maps of the Atlas are its best features. On the other side, the text possess small mistakes in some places. But finding information on species is usually not as difficult as finding thorough details on its distribution. I rank this book as high as I could.

The great Sir Patrick Moore has done more to popularize astronomy and to explain the mysteries of the universe to us mortals than probably any other professional astronomer in history. I was weaned on his books as a junior high school student back in the mid 60s, and I continued to be a fan of his books for the next two decades, minoring in astronomy in college partly as a result of his influence (back in the days when no-one bothered to minor in things :-)).

This book is an updated version of his original book from 1970. It includes the Voyager photos of the planets and their moons that benefitted from those probes and with additional text discussing those developments. Revised material on deep space objects like galaxies and quasars is also included, since much as been learned in the past 30 years on those topics, as well as on cosmology in general.

Moore's prose reminds me of the old days of reading his books, as it hasn't changed much in 40 years. It may sound a little old-fashioned stylistically to today's ears but there is no better writer and explainer on the subject of astronomy today just as he was 40 years ago. I'm glad to find Moore is still working, and also, I noted he's been knighted in the intervening years since I last read any of his books. Here's to Moore and his contribution to science writing and to bringing astronomy to the masses.

This is a gread bood that I have ever read before

This is a great book if your a beginer with cars. It really talks alot about the way the engine works and how to service and fix your car. I am a car mechanic and this book even tought me some. It is really interesting.

This is a text book and is written for working automotive technicians. It covers everything from what basic tools you need to the functions of the component parts of every common steering and suspension design. I've learned a lot from it. The book is well written, layed out and edited.

If you are looking for a book on building race car suspensions, raising or lowering your vehicle - you might want to look somewhere else. If you are studying for an automotive certification this is the best book I've found. It has quizzes at the end of each chapter. It's full of tips, real world examples and diagnostic tricks. There are lots of pictures and illustrations. Included with the book is a coupon for an online ASE practice certification exam. I don't know what's on the CD.
