Card Games Books

The Tarot Rhenan has always been one of my favorite Tarot card sets, the bright medieval style pictures and clear symbology make them very easy to read and set the proper tone to the reading. The originals were done on wood blocks by Ignaz Krebs in Freiburg, Germany. Piatnik Vienne in Austria did a great job restoring and printing this set in 1983.

Truly beautiful. I love these images and the cards work well too. Just remember to clean their energy before each use.

This deck is not only gorgeous, but holds accurate and traditional symbology. It dwells in a land of faeries that are not really cutesy but filled with character. The court cards are Kings, Knaves, Pages and Queens. The suits are pentacles, swords, wands and cups. The Strength and Justice cards are in the traditional position unlike Rider-Waite. The minor arcana are pips, yet each suit is uniquely done in every card, some hold images in them.

The deck doesn't come with a book but some extra cards with guidance information.

Not really a deck for children, nor beginners. I recommend this deck for anyone with experience and searching for extreme fantastical beauty.

By far the most interesting and challenging of all card games, bridge is enjoying renewed popularity following a decline from it's peak several decades ago and is currently under consideration as an Olympic sport. As an activity for children, it provides the opportunity to develop numerous skills and attributes beyond sheer intellectual stimulation. It requires such social skills as communication and cooperation with a partner as well as respect for one's opponents. Likewise it develops personal abilities such as how to think and perform under pressure and demands an honest assessment of one's assets and liabilities. There are hundreds of bridge books on the market written for adults, including easily a dozen for beginners, but only one that is designed for children. Fortunately, it's a good one. This book leads the reader through the game step by step and takes nothing for granted, not even the fact of there being four suits in a deck of 52 cards. However, don't think for a minute that it's simplistic or that teaching is by rote. On the contrary, it presents the material in such a way that the reader actually understands the game rather than just learns the rules. Anybody who learns the material in this book - adult or child - will not only be a better bridge player than the party bridge players he or she encounters, but will be well on the way to becoming a serious duplicate bridge player.

What fun, looking at the cards... perfect stocking stuffer and gift for even the youngest child.

I was looking for a book on card tricks that didn't require a physics degree to do. I gave this book to nephew and was amazed. This kid seldom gets up from a monitor or TV long enough to say Hi! I reccommend it for anyone trying to get children interested in doing something constructive. The only negative is that evidently the book says your not supposed to tell the secret. My nephew told me to buy my own copy.

Deals with 10 different areas such as doubles, signalling, etc that can help an intermediate player get to the next level. Definitely recommended!

As with most Kelsey books, these are not for the faint of heart. But do they pack a punch! Very concise, very to the point, and very instructive.

Do not plan on reading them straight through; for best effect, you must reread them on occasion, learning new lessons too hard the first time. A must read for those on the path to expert bridge.

Nice and sturdy box with magnetic flap holds all calendar pages. Bought as a gift so I haven't played myself but it looks like good fun for the next 365 days!

This is a great book for the beginning card player. It teaches you the basics of a lot of games, without being too stuffy...

It's also a great book for the experienced poker played, because there are a ton of new games in there that are a riot!
