Rules of the Game Books

A book of extremely unprofessional conception, design, and execution. Amateurish in extreme. Future editions--if any--must feature heavy revision. However, it is, in fact, a superb model for how *NOT* to publish a book.

Dr. Stevens thank you for sharing your heart! Your candid and often humorous approach is refreshing. You have married the Word to practical and relevant experiences.

This book is filled with powerful principles and both wise and practcal insights. The message is clear, the directions are workable, the illustrations are real life and the goal is achievable. It gives us all great tools for success in our journey.

This is without a doubt the most over-priced wargames booklet I've ever purchased and I own hundreds of rules sets. It's poorly written and most of the game concepts are not explained very well, so a beginner in this hobby (which I am not) would probably be clueless as to what he's supposed to do.

The rules themselves cover only a few pages and the rest of the booklet is filled out with some potted histories of the "ancients" period. Trust me, you can find better rules for less money; you can even find better rules for the period online for free at places like freewargamerules.co.uk.

I'd have asked for my money back on this one, but that's probably more trouble than it's worth.
