A real and honest insight into how Muslims really feel about the WestReview Date: 2006-07-25
Back CoverReview Date: 2006-01-03
"Islam, as a religion, has no issues with Judaism or Christianity. It acknowledges Torah and the Bible as divinely ordained books and respects the Prophets of both of them as its own. The Koran assures the Jews and Christians, 'We believe what you believe; your God and our God is one' (29:46). This acceptance is not reciprocated and Islam has been historically viewed by the other two religions as a heresy and a perversion. Consequently, it has been misrepresented and maligned in the West for centuries and the process continues unabated even to this day.
In the past twenty-five years, nearly four million Muslim men, women and children have been killed as a result of religious cleansing and wars waged or supported by the West in Europe, Africa and Asia. More than eight million Muslims have been driven out of their homes and obliged to live in squalid refugee camps scattered throughout the world. Much of this suffering has been inflicted for political and economic reasons. These crimes against humanity are being covered up and justified through an organised and well orchestrated media campaign aimed at demonising Islam and the Muslims in the West.
There can be little chance for peace in the world as long as the excesses and injustice persist and people continue to be persecuted and denied their legitimate rights and liberties. The book attempts to present a view of world events and developments from the Muslim perspective in the hope that it will lead to a fair and balanced understanding of the issues.
The author served in the Pakistan Navy before making his home in Canada. His other books include 'The Pathans of Jullunder' and 'Soft War on Pakistan'."

No Matter Which Side You Beleive, This Book Will Amaze You!Review Date: 2000-12-15
Ordinary citizens, police officers, military officers and enlisted men, and children have all claimed to have seen something in the skies...but what did they see?
Gordon I. R. Lore takes an in-depth look, with witness accounts, Air Force and other government documents and sources, NICAP, and surviving witnesses to past sightings speak of their strange effect upon the remainder of their lives.
Bud Hopkins himself commented on the scope of this book, and his comments appeared in NICAPS publications shortly thereafter.
Lest we forget: UFOs are Unidentified Flying ObjectsReview Date: 2003-12-14
It was in 1968 that Gordon I. R. Lore, Jr. and Harold H. Deneault, Jr.published _Mysteries of the Skies_. The authors had access to NICAP's files and produced a wonderful compendium of pre-1947 sightings. (Lore would be deposed from NICAP along with Donald Keyhoe in December, 1969.) The intent of the authors was to show that there was much more to the subject of UFOs than the sightings reported subsequent to Kenneth Arnold's widely publicized encounter.
There is detailed coverage of the Airship Sightings of the 1890s, Foo-Fighters, and the Battle of Los Angeles in 1942. This isn't about "little green men" and rectal probes. This is about strange things seen in the sky by reliable observers, things that never get explained.
One of the bonuses of reading this book is getting to watch as Lore and Deneault swallow Kansas farmer Alexander Hamilton's now-debunked 1897 airship lie, hook, line, and sinker. They practically open the book with it. It constitutes a warning to those who would too readily believe the succeeding accounts. And yet, people saw these things, and they are still seeing them.
If you are interested in or amused by nuts-and-bolts UFOs, and you get a chance to acquire this book, you would do well to do so.

Excellent Introduction to America's Little Known ColonyReview Date: 2001-12-22
I was really surprised that a Member of Congress could endorse the pagan and gruesome Ritual of the Tatau. The current medical literature suggests that severe physical punishments during initiation rites can be life threatening. And then after such a persuasive plea for Americans to take Pacific policy seriously, the Congressman asks for only half a loaf. After 101 years of being required to be Americans, the people of American Samoa deserve Commonwealth or Statehood status. If their price for joining the Union is permanent protection of the Samoan tradition of communal property ownership, it is doubtful that very many Americans would object.

Neurobehavioral disorders of childhoodReview Date: 2004-09-18
To learn, make friends and develop self-esteem are major tasks for children and adolescents to succeed in the school environment. If the child will manage to succeed in school the economic future, social and emotional status, career and quality of life will be positively affected. The issue at hand in this book is what sometimes is referred to as learning disability (LD) or disorder. LD is a disorder that affect the ability to either interpret what is seen and heard or to link information from different parts of the brain. These limitations can show up as specific difficulties with spoken and written language, coordination, self control or attention. Such difficulties extend to schoolwork and can impede learning to read, write or do math. But LD must be seen in a broader picture of developmental disability that also include attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, pervasive developmental disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Asperger's syndrome and autism. We are talking about many children involved and therefore the importance of this book.
This book has 11 chapters with topics like the evolution of the brain and why the brain works the way it does, sign and symptoms of neurobehavioral disorders, therapeutic theory and strategies. This book is well researched with many references with a focus on alternations of the normal child development in relation to the learning disorders described above. A working theory is presented based on what is known of the neurological and cognitive development in the context of evolution of the human species and its brain.
This book will be of interest for neurologists, professionals involved in child development and the human brain. It is another step forward in the work to find solutions to learning disability.

Great cover led me to buy the bookReview Date: 2006-08-15
I really enjoyed his many references to popular culture (Back to the Future, The Wizard of Oz, etc.) and I thought the best chapter was the one on the Catholic Church's teachings on contraception. A couple of criticisms though: the misspellings and grammatical errors kind of throw you off when you see them while you're reading.
Also, DeMarco has a tendency of making statements like "It is well established scientifically..." and "There is virtual universal agreement that...", but doesn't provide any supporting evidence. I can see if you were reading the book from a skeptical perspective how those establishing sentences wouldn't be very satisfying.
However, I did enjoy the book and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the case against contraception.
The cover art alone says it all!Review Date: 2000-03-28
Philosophical, yet practical, the book demonstrates that knowledge and true love (not contraceptive love) are the cure for the "Culture of Death" in which we find ourselves.
Highly recommended!

Microsoft Access 2000 with Visual Basic for ApplicationsReview Date: 2002-04-20
This is a superbly organized and clearly written book that anyone with an intermediate knowledge of Access who's interested in moving forward into VBA will appreciate. The figures and illustrations are well-integrated with the text, allowng the pictures and the words to work together to improve the knowledge of the reader. It's a good balance between theory and practice. It's difficult to point out specific qualities. In short, I think the strength of this book lies in it's organization and clarity of text.
The "Reference Window" concept gives a general overview of the procedure being taught. This has helped me understand the "big picture" and gives me ideas on using the concepts in my existing databases. The book is also a gold mine of good ideas that I'll be able to incorporate into my databases. Additionally, a well-detailed table of contents and good organization makes it fairly easy to find what you're looking for. All the above makes this book a keeper for future reference.
Technical concepts and overviews enhance the ability for the reader to learn some very challenging procedures. They are presented on an "as needed" basis and in sufficient quantity to increase understanding without being technically overwhelming.

This book could easily have been a simple vilification of the West and its governments to bolster the Muslim cause. In actuality it is a well thought out look at the reasons behind both the Western media's campaign to demonise all followers of Islam, tarring them with the same brush as extremists like Bin Laden, and also the reasons why many Muslims fear the West, and often it seems with good reason. It contains criticisms of both sides, presenting a much less biased approach than other books I have read from the Western point of view.
It incorporates a great many quotes from non-muslim Westerners in support of its case, which to me adds a good deal more weight to the central argument. Some of the facts regarding Bush and his government (again supported by quotes and documented evidence from Western journalists and politicians), and the reasons behind the so called war on terror are quite shocking, even to those of us who try to keep up with the situation.
I came away from reading this with a much greater understanding of Muslims and Islam. The author is clearly a man of conscience who is simply trying to put some facts straight, because the Western media, either through simple sensationalism or more disturbingly through a government controlled campaign of propaganda, are currently misrepresenting an entire religion based on the actions of a few zealots, in order to allow our governments to plunder their land and control or destroy their population, with our happy consent.
