It is so funny! We all knew that politicians could at times be really stupid, but this book proves it even more. It has some quotes that I had not caught before and now I certainly wish I had. I'll warn you, this book will have you laughing for a long time.

They just don't make 'em like this anymore. This is an exhaustive collection of articles and reviews dealing with music released during the 1979-1980 financial year. There's a wrap-up of the Year in Rock, Jazz, Blues and more-- with a focus on genres that wouldn't get page space today. There are features on the 'Acts of the Year', including The Pretenders, Tom Petty and The Specials. There's the US and UK charts for the entire period-- chuckle as you remember what singles dominated the summer of your youth, and puzzle over other titles that made it to the top (but are never remembered). A great read, with the kind of quality critical analysis that's hard to find anywhere these days.

A Wealth Of Knowledge.

I bought this book mainly because my girlfriend loves it when I quote Shakespeare and I was running a bit dry on material. It has tons of quotes, even from some of his stories (read: not plays) and some of the plays you wouldn't necessarily percieve as being romantic i.e. Othello, King Henry et all.) It also has all of his sonnets. Great buy, but not for those uninterested in love (it's an inspiration thing)

Completing a multi-volume set 'Latin for the Illiterati' but standing well on its own too is Jon R. Stone's The Routledge Dictionary Of Latin Quotations: The Illiterati's Guide To Latin Maxims, Mottoes, Proverbs And Sayings, a conclusion to a trilogy which offers a treasure trove of Latin quotes, proverbs and maxims gathered from disciplines ranging from philosophy and rhetoric to politics and science. Professor Stone teaches philosophy and religious studies at CSU Bakersfield: his background lends to a solid reference in affordable paperwork.

Pure New York!

As a New Yorker who not always agrees with the mayor's views, I loved this book! It neither glorifies the mayor nor degrates him. It is just a book of things he has said... and you gotta love it. I was laughing out loud in the bookstore at some of the frank things Rudy has said.
In my opinion, the best comments made by Giuliani are found in the section on the greatest team in history (the Yankees, who else?) and the section on Hillary Clinton.
Giuliani, as portrayed in this book, is a true New Yorker.

A wonderful book that friends left as a gift for us. It made me think about my family and our rural roots.

Much like a "Chicken Soup for the Rural Soul". This is a MUST READ if you live in a town where the stop light is the most exciting thing that came to town in 10 years!

This collection of Krishnamurti's wisdom is organized alphabetically by subject and beautifully displays the man's philosophy of life. Any attempt to summarize the contents of this book would be less than futile- open the book and then open your mind.
