In the LDS church, we hang on every word that the prophet Joseph Smith wrote or uttered, yet very few people know that he wrote a (quite long)poetic version of section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants that adds insight and clarification. It is a beautiful restating of what Joseph Smith called "The Vision" and which President Wilford Woodruff called "a revelation which gives more light, more truth, and more principle than any revelation contained in any book we read." This book provides you with a fascinating look at this virtually unknown treasure and gives you a deeper understanding of one of the greatest revelations ever recorded.

One line stands out for me in To Take Away The Hurt by Flavia Weedn. It is "Sadness and emptiness are difficult to bear, but that which brings us sadness has once brought us joy." This is the essence of this beautiful little book. Flavia has found the silver lining in the worst of situations and shows us that heartache challenges us all to grow through the love and lives of others.

I've had the Toolkit for Happiness for about six months now and would highly recommend this practical and easy to use workbook to everyone! I've used many of the book's suggestions for co-creation and soul-evolution and have found them to be easy to use, valuable tools for making my life even better. Being happy is not what society tell us it is - it is a state of mind where serenity and excitement exist simultaneously - and what a wondrous feeling it is to know that happiness is a state we can create for ourselves that has nothing to do with material gains, wealth or power! Reading this book changed my life, helped alter my deeply imbedded negative thinking patterns, showed me concrete ways to manifest what I wanted and needed in my life that could increase my happiness. Since reading this book, my life has still been one with discomfort, but now I acknowledge the discomfort as a sign that I can make changes, shift deliberately into a happier state. What more could one ask for? Definitely worth the time to read, and even better to give away to friends and family who need a bit of extra happiness in their lives.

Russel and Lin Jones' have the uncanny ability to "connect."
Their simple approach should not be considered "simplistic."They obviously have a knack of telling real life stories that are appealling to the young reader. And, probably more importantly their stories have a point that strikes right to the struggles of most young people.
Then if that is not enough the authors challenge the youthful reader. If they have been touched by the words in this book and they want to apply some of what they have learned the authors ask the reader to "pledge" their commitment to be themselves -- to grow and enjoy life. What a neat message.What a neat book! This is probably the only book my two children have read and reread!Now that's saying something about the book!

If you are in need of some spitural uplifting and inspiration then this book is for you. Ms. Harris talks about the struggles she has experienced from early childhood until the present. She has overcome witchcraft, demons, a loss of her daughter and much more. Through it all she overcame because of her total committment to Jesus Christ. This is a must have book and Ms. Harris gives you many scriptures to refer to help you get through your struggles. I truly enjoyed this book and because of it I feel that I can overcome any struggle as long as I pray everyday and keep God first in my life.

Unlike any of his other books, this one is more of a sefer. Its a great spiritual read!

(Late) Prof. Rafiq Zakaria (1920-2005) visualizes an imaginary court consisting of the seven Islamic experts in Sharia (Imams of the Islamic schools of legal thought) who have lived in a time span of thousnad years.

These Imams are, viz., Imam Bukhari (810-870), Imam Muslim (817-875), Imam Abu Hanifa (700-767), Imam Malik (716-795), Imam Shafi (767-820), Imam Hanbal (780-855), and Imam Ghazali (1058-1111).

These Imam, herein, debate whether Islam has any proviso for female political leader. (The answer is yes.)

This book is a good reading. It has excellent thought-provoking insights into the status of woman in Islam as well the issue of leadership- i.e., gender based.

About the author
A doctorate from the University of London, Dr Zakaria also represented India at the United Nations.

His other books include studies of former Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the founder of Pakistan, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, and an intellectually provocative study on whether Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the break-up of India. His son Farid is the editor of Newsweek International magazine.

I found this book by accident. It would not have been on my list at all. However, it looked interesting, so I bought it. I am glad that I did. It is written with a light, and airy sense. It also tell you all about those billion dollar brand names that you see all the time. It also tells you a little history about them, and what kind of markets they have won. It is a book for everyone, not just business majors. I was so interested in all of the info on the brands that I knew so well, that I read the book in three days. That is very fast for me. I think everyone will enjoy this writing, and I highly recommend it for all those who might be interested in learning more about those brands they see every day.
