I have not finished this book, but I have about 3 hours invested in it. It's message had an impact in my state of mind that gave me a sense of optimism as to what is possible if we can learn to treat our bodies and our mind as a resource we have learned to keep under tight control. The message really gets down to why are we not creative, and if you can learn this, you can understand how the exercises he gives can lead to higher levels of creativity, not just when you want to be more creative, but throughout the day.

The word Unconscious is key to this book. As such, one see's this book written close to two decades ago, has no reviews, and sells used for half the cost of shipping. The author Harman has written other powerful books with major heavyweight authors who admire him (e.g. Margret Wheatley). The reality is, people do not take serious their ability to have any impact on their Unconsious thoughts, or that if they could, why bother.

I bought this book years ago, and it did not stick. After reading the book Power of Now, this book has found its mark with me. This is a book that fundamentally is about how to create a mindset that will enable you to not only accomplish more, but become fulfilled with a sense of your own potential.

I would not buy this book if you are skeptical about one's own Unconsiousness, that exploring that area is too illusive to try.

The content about Rene Descartes alone is worth the reading. He uses his story to tell us what we can do today. It is in Chapter 3 "Looking Where the Light Is" subsection "The Man Who Dreamed Up Science". I had no idea how Rene had accomplished what he did, but this book tells the reader the man knew. Yet those who write of Rene tell us the Rene was overtired when he used these so-called methods, and they were not real. "The Taboo Against Inner Knowing" explains why no one pays atttention to these approaches today. I guess that is why no one will likely ever read this review - and people will be able to buy to book used for less that a dollar.

Very different from other more popular books on creativity, like The Artist Way, for example, wich compared with this is just what it is anyway, an empty pretentious book with a beatiful cover whose only object seems to be to make you feel oh, so special, so arty, so morningpage like (actually not a discovery of the author, it was mentioned half a century before in the wonderful "So you want to write" and in Dorothea Brenda's book about writing. "Higher Creativity" actually teachs you many things. Wonderful and interesting facts. It gives you a completely fresh new look on the world and in yourself.It gives you not only the technics but, more important, the why, the base of the thinking to understand why you are more than what you think you are.

And apart from being efective in teaching is really, really, well written and interesting. I've felt like I wanted to study (not only to read) the whole book and I have started taking notes from it.

It was the personal stories that made this book great. Who needs another book of theories? The authors illustrate every point with stories from their lives that bring the points home.

Excellent stories that I could relate to with my own experiences. I came away with a sense that there is always a positive outcome for the most unusual and frustrating situations people face today. Thanks for this group of stories and I hope to meet you two at a seminar some day.

If there is a college administration/student personnel services program that DOES NOT have this as required reading, it should. This is the most comprehensive (and heaviest!) book in the field---summarizing research and theory that is most relevant to today's college administrators and educators. Not only should it be on their shelves---but should be taken down and referred to often!

How College Affects Students : Findings and Insights from Twenty Years of Research (The Jossey-Bass Higher and Adult Education Series) by Ernest T. Pascarella, Patrick T. Terenzini is one of the most valuable reference resources an educator can own. Should be mandatory reading for anyone in coporporate univesities, higher education, or in the policy or management arenas revolving around learning. It was one of the essential references I used while writing Transforming Higher Education, Strategic Change and Strategic Choices. A must buy and well worth every penny.

I am a former SMI franchise owner. I know the value and cost of a Paul Meyer program. If you ever wanted to own a SMI program and felt you could not afford it, do not pass up the opportunity to read this book. You can't afford not to.

Paul Meyer is a master at writing the essence of a topic. There are so many golden nuggets in this book you may discover it is the greatest value of any book you have purchased.

I think this is a must read for anyone that has dreams they want to achieve. It should be mandatory reading for anyone in a position for responsibility and leadership. Invest in yourself big time with this book!

This book is a must read for anyone interested in accomplishing more in their lives. The principles and techniques explained in this book have allowed me to earn 6 figures for the last 12 years, Building a Dream House and enjoying a life most people just dream about. This is not pie in the sky. The principles work if you work them!! "If you are not now making the progress you would like to make and are capable of it's because your Goals are not clearly defined." Burn these words into your mind. That staement says so much, but if you are like most people you will believe that these concepts are tooo simple. I challenge you buy this book apply the ideas it contains and one day you too can live your life in the brillant sun of positive expectancy.

This is the most uplifting book I have read. You can't help but feel better about everything in your life after reading this. I have given this book to friends and family and they all love it to. Do yourself a favor and read this one.

This is a fantastic book whether you are a joyful person or not. The principles Kirsten lays out in these chapters will help anyone lead a happier more fulfilled life. There is tremendous power in this simple teaching. Don't let a lack of joy hinder your life. Get this book and study it!

I studied with Howard Morgen 30+ years ago. He is one of the best teachers I've ever had (and I've had plenty). I recommend any book by him.

For all you non-believers, or people who do not think your life can change. This is definitely the book that you need to read. This book talks about the life of a man named Joey Perez. He was living a sinful life, and felt miserable. But God came into his life and made him a knew man. The encounters he had with God sent goose bumps up my skin. Yes, God came down and talked to him and it is revealed in this book. When i read it, i felt it. This is a great book. If you know someone who is confussed or is agnostic, get this book; It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

This little book is a powerhouse of wisdom. It glows with the understanding that comes from years of inner searching and of helping others find their courage to be and to do. I've taken many "Joy of Singing" workshops with Warren in Los Angeles and this book is a reminder of those experiences. You can take a page a day to ponder, or you can take the whole thing at one gulp. Either way, you'll surely have something to think about and help you grow. I highly recommend it.
