This is a powerful book that causes one to want the Glory of God to come into their life in a deeper way. This book causes one to understand that we are created to worship Him, and that God's Glory showing up in our lives is the result of our praise and fruitful life style. This book will ignite your dreams to fullfill your purpose in life. It teaches that there are untapped ideas and creativity that live in all of us that need to be cultivated by having the right environment. I always enjoy reading Dr Myles Monroes' books, as they are about purpose and planting the right seeds in our lives. I have also heard him speak in person and he is powerful! His books have been very inspirational in my life, and he planted the seeds in me to begin writing and to fullfill more of my purpose.

This book is very good for any reader. It is really easy to understand and yet for any theologian brings a great foundation for studies based upon God's word dealing with this subject.
Myles Munroe is very good at bringing analogies which could be understand with ease from anybody 12 to 100 yrs. old. He does a great job expressing his points and allows your mind to wander into areas of your life which need change. The Purpose and Power of God's Glory can be used to be encouragement for anybody whether Christian or non-Christian, but most of all this book will bring empowerment to the reader if they begin to live by this book. Don't take this material for granted, it is vital for any life.

I enjoyed the rich historical knowledge that is shared in this volume of the Images of America Series which I admire very much. It is full of precious photos of P-51s, B-17s and many other planes. The book tells of the legendary Airbase known to all as Quonset Point, Rhode Island...

This book brings back memories for thoes who served in the military. It is also a useful tool for thoes interested in ecconomic development. You will see how different Naval Air Stations have the same things in common -deep water ports-landing strips-rail connections-access to roads to major cities. They are all perfect for industry or intermodal transportation. Sean Milligan has lots more information to share and there are more books to follow on these topics. The photos are great and everyone I let read my book were very moved. It was like watching someone look at an old school yearbook. I think you or your family will get a kick out of seeing this piece of history. ENJOY

This is a really good collection of Photos spanning the history of Quonset. Sean Milligan is a man who has been studying Quonset and related topics all his life. I have known him for many years and he lives and breathes everything Navy, Air Force and Marines. He loves Planes and Ships and it shows in his work.Look for a big book to follow soon on this and related Topics. You will be surprised at some of these rare photos and believe me he has more to show you. This book is a must and be assured there is more to come from this historian. Sean Milligan lives in Pawt. Rhode Island and he is working on other books and a TV program related to this subject. ENJOY.

Kater's book finally gives parents and educators alike the long-overdue confidence they need to raise girls within a world that is always pressuring them to "shape up" or forget about being happy. This book can serve as a teaching tool for young parents, a welcome eye-opener for parents of adolescents, or, for any reader, a fascinating new look at girls' enormous struggles with maintaining body image perspective in the face of our too-often unhealthy mediacentric culture. Kater is a proven leader in her field and someone who we must listen to if the horrible trends of eating disorders and rock-bottom body esteem are to be reversed.

It's never too late to be a positive influence on a child's body esteem! This wonderful, highly organized and simple book shows us how to practice and promote positive attitudes and behaviors that will help children, and adults, develop a healthy body esteem. Whether a child is 2 years old, or 20 or 40, her/his body esteem can be influenced by those people she/he cares most about. The 10 essential lessons layed out in this text show us ways to promote healthy, fun eating, regular exericise and a positive body image. I found that this book not only helped me be a good role model for the children I influence, but it also helped me develop my own healthy body esteem!

Kathy Kater's book is full of clearly-written, practical advice for parents who are concerned about their child's body image. She writes not only from the perspective of a therapist and educator, but from her own experiences as a parent of a son and daughter. Each of the book's "ten lessons" contain suggestions that can be readily integrated into the situations and conversations parents typically encounter. The book is clear, concise and well-organized. It is easy to pick up later and locate information when you need to. I have two teenage daughters, and I wish the book would have been available ten years ago!

Aditional chapters related to PDF or scripts amplify its scopes. Although some points should deserve more explanations in the future (align to grid, problems with styles) this book deserves the maximum awards.

The table of contents tells you everything you need to know about the target audience. It's not divided into sections on Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, GoLive, and Acrobat. Instead, it deals with concepts; for instance, the chapter on "Type" discusses how each program in CS2 handles fonts and text options, which application is best at doing what, and how to use them in combination to do complicated tasks.
As such, this book is definitely not for beginners; it won't teach you how to use any of the individual programs. But if you're already familiar with Adobe's lineup, this will give you lots of ideas on how to integrate the different parts of CS2, as well as showing you a lot of really deep features that aren't obvious. The book's approach is to treat CS2 as one very large program, and by the time you get done with it, so will you.

As another reviewer noted, this is not a tutorial for beginners. It's an in-depth resource exploring the interaction of the CS2 products. On their own, the apps are powerful, but it's important to know how to take advantage of the ways they knit together. The authors are quite knowledgeable, and they impart a *ton* of priceless information in a very readable way. Even if you're just using, say, Photoshop and Illustrator, you'll discover valuable ways to make the most of the interaction between the two apps. I know all the CS2 apps very well (except GoLive), and I still learned a lot! And the content is *not* gimmicky "amaze your friends with silly tricks" stuff. It's practical and beneficial for users involved in production.

Why can't we hear God and understand what He is saying today is the question and "Restoring God's House" tells why. We look like Christians but the things we do as Christians are an insult to God. Dr. Reid has made it simple to understand. We have fallen into a spirit of religion. I thank God I am free, that I have a relationship with God. This book is a good tool for anyone seeking the truth about what God is telling us to do in this hour. Somebody once asked, "Can you handle the truth?" It's time to take the full responsibility for the truth.

This is one of the best photographic books I have ever seen. The photographers who took these photos really captured the feeling and emotions of the artists at the time. All the classic and famous personalities of music are here, from Ike and Tina to Bob Dylan; from Elvis to Bowie to Nirvana; from The Beatles and Stones to Alice Cooper and all that lies between (too too many to list here). An excellent array of both black and white and colour shots. The close ups allow you to see into the sometimes troubled, sometimes happy, but ever changing eyes of these rock icons. The broader shots show some of these bands and performers in their most comfortable and bizarre surrounds. A worthwhile purchase, that allows you to ponder each and every photo for hours and hours. In the back is a complete copy (small version) of the photos together with a who is who. Buy the hardcover; not only is it worth the price, but it will last forever. This is easily the greatest and most comprehensive collection of rock and roll pictures in one publication!
I wish I could have been there when the pictures were taken!

Classic rugby in black and white, large format film glory!
This is a great photo book. It's interesting to see how the game used to look: twentysomething men in tweed suits, often smoking pipes, with hair styles that suggest one's grandfather. They hold huge rugby balls, wear huge shorts and long socks. They don't appear anywhere as fit and muscular as today's pros, but they were stroppy, tough and admirable men... rugby just doesn't look like this anymore.
You also get images of some of the greats: Napier, Wakefield, Prince Obolensky, etc. I once wrote an article about some of the old school ruggers depicted in this excellent coffee table book - [...] - read it and you'll get a taste for the content in this book.
Tennant mentions that in the photographic era before modern digital photography the game was depicted differently than today; you can certainly see this in the photos in this book, and it's fascinating.
Qualified recommendation: my wife only paid $[...] for it, not the $[...] plus I see right now. Not sure it's worth more than $[...]...

What a better gift to offer in Rugby World Cup Year? Great pics that take you back to the days of the glorious amateur sport of rugby football. The communal baths were all the players would bathe after the game, the muddy pitches with any signs of grass, etc. etc. This is the sole high level sport that resisted the calls of professionalism into the last decade of the 20th century. Enjoy the Rugby World Cup, the world's third biggest sporting event!

The three authors offer refined reflections in each of the chapters allowing the reader to reflect not only on sandplay, but also on the depth of the human psyche. It is easy to feel the deep respect each of these very seasoned therapists has for the journey of healing and individuation as witnessed in sandplay. This book is a welcome addition in the field of Jungian Psychology and Sandplay.

This is a wise and wonderful book by three highly experienced sandplay therapists. As readers, we are invited into a mature, clear and deep process of inquiry into the direct experience of sandplay itself. Eight of the most important topics in sandplay therapy: Therapist; Silence; Child; Mother; Self; Shadow; Chaos and Numinous, are explored as the ground of our most basic therapeutic experiences. Within these chapters, the authors' focus on the transformative power of relationship, in it's fullest sense. What is especially intriguing to us about the form of the "trialogue" in Sandplay in Three Voices is the richness and depth of understanding that is evoked in these conversations of three. This is a new and exciting book in the field of sandplay therapy. We highly recommend it.

If you've wondered what sandplay was all about from a Kalffian/Jungian perspective, these three women have a lot of wisdom to impart. Beyond "beginning sandplay" texts which provide a basic introduction to sandplay, this volume explores the essentials of sandplay while also going into depth about salient topics such as silence, the numinous, Self, and chaos. Based on conversations between these three elders of sandplay, similiarities and differences have been teased out to create a rich tapesty of the potential growth and healing inherent in sandplay. I highly recommend this book.

An essential intention of sandplay therapy is to provide a free and protected space in which the client can feel invited to expand his/her consciousness, open to the unconscious and engage with disturbing and difficult elements in the psyche. As Kay Bradway says in the introduction to Sandplay in Three Voices,"Writing this book has been an experience in self-exposure, in letting down our hair. We have let ourselves ask na?ve questions akin to the child's universal question :`Is there a Santa Claus?'"I as the reader, felt invited t that the authors are creating a free and protected space for the reader to engage in a relational and interactive process. The essential interactive and relational nature of Sandplay and depth therapies is demonstrated in an embodied/experiential manner in the format and content of Sandplay in Three Voices. The authors KayBradway, Lucia Chambers and Maria Chiaia, three-seasoned sandplay therapists from three generations, have created a deep and engaging teaching journey into the world of sandplay therapy and its relationship to other depth therapies. One quickly learns that sandplay is not a technique but a way of thinking about the entire environment of therapy. As stated by Maria Chiaia,"The whole experience of doing sand is a numinous experience, and this seems to have something to do with connecting with the silence, with the therapist and with the sand images"(p.179).
There are eight topics each introduced by an engaging, exploratory and gracious trialogue among the authors. These trialogues werei nitially taped, transcribed and then edited. I felt immediately brought into theauthors' process, as they thought, felt, and talked through concepts, theories and meanings together.
I highly recommend this book

One is a whole number. And that is the theme of Savvy Senior Singles. Author Samantha Landy, founder of Christian Celebrity Luncheons, is a savvy senior single who shares her insights in this Destiny Image publication.
Whether you are single by calling, by divorce, or by the death of a spouse, there are advantages to being single and Landy lists them. We don't have to ask if it's okay to go shopping with (or without) friends, we don't have to ask for approval to buy something, we can choose a romance movie if we don't feel like an action flick. We're basically free to do whatever we want whenever we want.
Savvy Senior Singles reminds readers to laugh often, develop a positive attitude, and build a support network. "The Fear Factor" was my favorite chapter. "When we take failure personally, it can devastate us, but when we view it as an event, we can turn it from a negative to a positive change factor" (page 85). Landry is bold enough to talk about sex and the single senior as well as prenuptial agreements, identity theft, and pursing dreams.
Each chapter ends with Points to Ponder, a collection of pithy tidbits mined from the previous pages. She ends the book with an invitation. Send her your savvy single senior story for consideration in the sequel.
A light read, Savvy Senior Singles is a perky pick-me-up for anyone wanting to celebrate their age and embrace their potential. It is a pleasant gift idea for those old enough to take advantage of the senior citizen discount. - PeggySue Wells, Christian Book Previews.com

This book has some great insight for several people in my family. I like the way it is written and have given it to several people. I love the humor! The section on financial security and protection from identity theft is very helpful.

As I Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, I have heard the cries of many who have not followed the advice in the Savvy Senior Singles book. Some haven't pursued their dreams; some have lived in fear, others added another person to their lives without wisdom, or never thought they would get a sexually transmitted disease. Samantha Landy devotes chapters to each of these situations. At the end of each chapter is a "Points to Ponder" page which highlights the main points. Many survivors have sat with me and sobbed because they have no idea where anything is or whom to contact. Readers who complete the Living Network in this book will provide tremendous help to surviving family members and eliminate this problem. Married or single, if you're age 50 or older, you will profit from reading Savvy Senior Singles.

An attack on then and still fashionable scientific realism.

Bas van Fraassen rejects the current trend in philosophy of science toward scientific realism. In this book, he advocates something he calls constructive empiricism as an alternative; his constructive empiricism has a neo-positivist feel to it, but the development of his own position is not the most interesting aspect of this book. His criticisms of scientific realism, which really form the heart of the work, are extremely detailed, forceful, and interesting; they present a challenge which, after a decade and a half, scientific realists have yet to meet.

bas van fraassen in claiming to offer a viable alternativve to scientific realism has indirectly acknowledged the existence of unobservable entities in saying that we will nnot know eveything there is to know or everything thaat can be known in the universe/life.As an empiricist or form of it he generously engages the dicourse that unobservable entities DO have meaning but that they cant exist because any such admission would be a saving of realist theory(scientific realism posits the view that these objects have not only existence but meaning too).scientific realism is optimistic in that it belives that everything can be known or discovered by advocating this view of science, but vF rejcts this but by doing so he has created an entity that will remain forever unknowable to the mind,an unobsevable entity technically if nothing else he creates their existence and this is contrary to his position. paul neilan an NUIG student.

This is a must read for anyone wishing to sincerely engage in philosophy of science. It should change the way you think about science, but it does not deny anything essential to science. Just so you know, Van Fraassen is a Catholic, so he does seem to believe in unobservable entities, though he denies that empirical science as it is commonly understood can tell us anything about them directly.

In this book, van Fraassen put forth a 'constructive empiricist' anti-realist account of science. The book contains many metaphors and even a short story. Yet it is often unclear whether he is prescribing norms for scientists, and merely describing their practice. (This may result from his counterfactual account, which strangely seems to warrant belief in propositions containing terms allegedly referring to unobservables that have nevertheless not been observed. At best, the account makes perfect agnosticism preferable to belief-formation with respect to propositions containing unobservable terms, where such prescriptions are justified on the basis of something other than facts.) The book represents what positivist philosophy might have become in the absence of thinkers who were more sensitive to the subtleties between the philosophy of language and ontology.
