Gives good explanations of the important stuff for the exchange 5.5 test. I used only this book together with the actual product and passed the test at first try. But beware, the test is very difficul, and this book has no sample questions that are anyhting like the real thing.

This book can teach you Exchange in no time, easy and interesting reading, i highly recommend it.

Tthis book showed that a woman is capable of doing more than staying the ship and watching little blips on the screen. She is able to take care of her family, another species, an entire planet, and the bills, all at once, all the whil watching her toddler. Great book and great villians!

Explores memory, mind, and self in action format

I believe that this is Stith's best (haven't read 'Reckoning Infinity' or 'Scapescope'). Protagonist is an individual living in an O'Neil type habitat who has undergone a procedure that rmoves memories of personal past for the previous several years. The rest of the book is the story of regaining his memory with the help of a cleverly written AI, and, of course, foiling a plot to end civilization as we know it. I really like Stith's writing; his characters are not necessarily the deepest, most convoluted personalities you could concoct, but they are very engaging. His writing, combined with an inventive plot, and the exploration of what memory is and how it relates to ego make this a very enjoyable novel. The worst thing about it is that it is out of print.

Hypnotize yourself with the Mutant Master
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2005-02-20
Book 18 of this Space Opera is the beginning of a trilogy of adventures with an Evil Mutant Master.

Monterny is a mutant capable of mind control - a type of hypnotism that can even control the minds of Perry's elite Mutant Corps. Monterny's unique power to read and control the thoughts of others extends far enough so that he may control the actions of his evil mutant corps while safely hidden in his lair in Salt Lake City, Utah - and his operatives are in the Gobi Desert! Monterny begins to try to take over as world dictator by bringing down Rhodan's General Cosmic Company, and due to a small glitch he fails. But Monterny keeps trying.

The 2nd part of the trilogy continues with number 20 - "Mutants Vs Mutants".

I've never been this impressed by a series. I'm reminded of old cliffhangers like "Buck Rodgers" or "Flash Gordon" when reading these marvelous books. This series is still being published in Germany and is now well over 2,000 volumes. It's too bad American publishers stopped these after only about 120 books. I had to learn to speak, read, and write German in order to continue reading Perry Rhodan.

This book also contains another editorial, another science fiction movie section, and another fan letters page. And there are extra stories - one continuing adventure, similar to a serial, and some "Shock Shorts" - continuing a series of SF short stories at the end of each book. Although these stories have nothing to do with Perry Rhodan, they are worth looking at. It's well worth reading the entire Rhodan series.

Great Book on Zerstorers
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2001-03-31
This is a great book about the Zerstorer aces of world war 2. It covers the fighting of the Zerstorers in Poland, Denmark, Norway, France, the low countries, Russia, North Africa, Italy, and Finland. It also covers the Battle of the German Bight, and the Battle of Britian. It has lots of pictures, and the color plates are nice because they show how the planes were painted. Also the Ju 88c and Me 410 are also pictured and talked about a little in this book. Some of the pilots talked about are Werner Methfessel, Heinz Nacke, and Theodor Rossiwall.

A dark and scary vision of humanity's future.
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2006-11-16
This is the 1963 Ace paperback. Original publication date: 1927! And, yes, the Fritz Lang movie was indeed based upon this classic (Lang was von Harbou's husband). It pictures a world a century ahead of its date (now only 20 years). An unforgettable vision of a metropolis grown to gargantuan proportions, of humanity fighting to keep its soul against a monstrous combination of machinery, robots and complexity which had been spawned in the 20th century.

It wasn't until 1963 that Ace Books, at the instigation of Forrest J. Ackerman, finally put the novel between paper covers. Ackerman adds a long introduction.

Highly recommended for students of military aviation history

MiG Alley To Mu Ghia Pass: Memoirs of A Korean War Ace is the military memoir of Cecil Foster, a young man born into poverty and hardship, and who joined the Army Air Force in 1943 as a private, eventually retiring in 1975 as a lieutenant colonel. Foster served a multitude of tasks during his Air Force career, but perhaps the most outstanding and remarkable part of his autobiographical history was his service as a high-scoring ace pilot in the aerial battles of the Korean War. Foster's record of nine destroyed MiGs earned him 12th place on a list of 38 aces. Each of the aircraft he destroyed was shot down in a section of airspace called "MiG Alley," which runs along the Yalu River that separates North Korea from China. MiG Alley Mu Ghia Pass is an involving, personal look into one of the countless people who have staked their lives to serve and protect the United States of America. Highly recommended for students of military aviation history in general, and the Korean War in particular.

MY DAD USED TO SHARE FAVORITE COMIC STRIPS WITH ME AS I WAS GROWING UP.
HE ESPECIALLY LIKED 'MISS PEACH' WHEN HE WAS IN HIS FIFTIES. NOW THAT HE'S GONE, I ENJOY THESE 'FUNNIES' AS FOND MEMORIES, AND I CAN STILL HEAR HIM SAY, 'SEE YOU IN THE FUNNY PAPERS!'
