For Xmas, I gave the Man & Can series to my college-age sons who are moving into "landlord" housing this semester. These cookbooks, with their easy to follow, illustrated recipes, prove that cooking is not hard and can be fun! Cooking for yourself is a lot cheaper and healthier than fast food. These cookbooks give them a place to start! They were really tickled with the gift, even though, their buddies thought it a bit odd. My sons told me that their buddies will appreciate the books, too, once they are eating the good food made from them!

Perfect Cookbook for Men and Women!

This is a great cookbook for anyone who is learning how to cook, or for someone who wants quick simple recipes!
Very few ingrediant recipes, that also include pictures of the ingrediants needed, such as a can of tuna. It gives a new cook a picture so they know what to look for at the store.
The recipes are also created so that they are healthy, which is always what I am looking for.
I would recomend this cookbook for anyone!

I just bought this cookbook at my son's book fair this afternoon and am already loving it! The recipes are easy, fast and completely tailored after a man's appetite requirements (think meat and potatoes) . Since I am the only female in a house of men, this type of cookbook is exactly what I was looking for. It contains 50 simple meals and snacks that men will adore-what more could a woman ask for? Buy this if you want the man in your life to be amazed at your sudden culinary skills or to give to a college bound son or nephew who is in need of fast, easy, filling fare.

The illustrations are amazing. The scenery and characters look like they are made from cloth. My children wanted to read this book over and over and over :). The last page was especially fun with the lamb hiding under the little girls school desk.

Mavor is a genius in using scraps of whatever to create a textural world that is as comfortable as this classic story poem. Look at each page, and look again, there seems no end to details that embellish these sewn illustrations. Yummies for your eye, and if only we could touch!

Our daughter keeps asking to read this classic poem/song again and again. Mayor's illustrations are a masterpiece of three-dimensional textile work, combining many different techniques. She has also captured many historical details of the era in which the poem was originally written. The result adds depth and detail to a simple story, which makes it a pleasure to read again and again.

Perfect first book!! My son is 5 months old and loves this book. The bright colors and rhythmic flow of the silly words are just wonderful. Not too long, not too short. If he's fussy, we sit down and read Maurice the Hippo over and over and he is happy. I would recommend this as a first book for every baby.

I bought this book and put it with all the others. Recently my 11 month old girl has started to bring me books to read and she will bring this one 4 or 5 times in a row - it's her favorite. The book has a cheerful, irreverent feel with sing-song rhymes and bright illustrations.

We renewed this as a library book three times before we broke down and bought it. We are also giving copies to a few friends this Christmas. Our eight month old LOVES this book. The bright pictures and rhymes just mesmerize her. Another nice feature is that it is a board book, yet larger in size than most board books. She loves to turn the pages. She gets excited just LOOKING at this book. Highly recommended for little ones.

The book is greatly entertaining to toddlers.

This book might seem silly to the adult at first, but the more you read it to your requesting toddler the more it starts to make sense. A shy hippo is lead unknowingly through different situations to eventually arrive at his birthday party. The colors are attention grabbing and the tone you develop while reading it aloud becomes as entertaining to you as to your listener.

This book is an excellent source for the boards. It reviews important topics that are important to know and gives you an advantage. I liked the format of the book and it made studying painless and more enjoyable. I also used the following:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers
(ISBN: 0971999635) by Patrick Leonardi
I used both books for the USLME and it defintely helped me pass the USLME with ease. I felt both books gave me an advantage over other students taking the test. Both books are a must for passing.

I used this book primarily during my microbiology course. I did reference it while I studied for Step 1 also. The end of this book that contains "Summary of Medically Important Bacteria/Virus/Fungi/Parasites" is a great resource to have. Get this one early and read it, then reference it as needed for your board prep.

Warren Levinson is a genius! This book is absolutely brilliant. I would recommend it to almost anybody who doesn't like dumbed down books like Lippincott. Levinson's Microbiology is clear and comprehensive. It tells you exactly what to focus on, and cuts out extraneous details. The immunology section is even better! You'll love this book. The questions are even fantastic in helping you remember all the bugs, and the quick summary reviews at the end make this book worth your while. One recommendation for the next edition is to add more clinically relative laboratory perspectives. Make tables and keep reviewing until the day boards comes.

When I ordered this book, I thought it would have the names of only the body parts--it is so much more than this. The sections in this little book include:
My Body
My Face
Eyes (with eye colors)
Hair (brown, curly, straight, etc.)
My Hands
My Legs and Feet
Baby Faces (with emotions like surprised and excited)
What can you do? (ex: sit, crawl, etc.)
I can (ex: touch my toes, etc.)
Senses: seeing, smelling, hearing, tasting, touching
Summer clothes
Winter clothes
What time is it? (time to drink milk, time for bed, etc.
Counting 1 to 5
Counting 1 to 10

This little book is packed with a lot of information! Great job DK!

My first Spanish Body Board Book is a bilingual word book with English and Spanish
words and lots of fun colorful pictures. Many of the pages teach sentence like: "Puedo tocarme los pies" - "I can touch my toes."

Cute babies are found eating cookies, splashing in the bath, trying on hats and playing games. There is also a page of facial expressions, hair color and eye color.

A cute little book for parents who want to teach their children Spanish or English at an early age.

Ignore the age description of 9-12 year olds--this book is for toddlers! I snatched up Baby Animals, Jungle Animals and Farm Animals in an airport store as soon as I flipped through one book. These are great for 1-3 year olds. My son still hasn't tired of the pull out animals which appear black and white on the page, but come to life in vivid colors once you pull out the tab. The animal set teaches toddlers to recognize different animals and learn about colors at the same time. A great gift for baby showers, although the babies probably won't really learn to interact with them until they are at least 1 years old.

I got this book for my grandson when he was around 9 months old. He was absolutely fascinated with the way the colors would change when you pulled on the tab and the picture came out of the book. He pulled on it really hard so many times and did finally destroy it. He is now 18 months old and I bought him another one because he loved it so much. He now knows how to push and pull the pages out without destroying it. It is still his favorite book.

We got this book as a present and my daughter absolutely loves it. I started reading it to her around 6 months and showed her how to pulled out the tabs. By 10 months she could do it herself and was so excited to see the animals change colors. To this day, she still takes the book from the shelf and climbs on my lap to read it. It's great for little ones developing their pinching skills too!

I really enjoyed the romance between Nora and Blake. She's so very endearingly clumsy and her attempts at being sophisticated made me giggle. Blake may sound like the stereotypically arrogant alpha male we've all known from romance books, but he's really honest and quite sweet. Now, this doesn't mean that this book wasn't hot and sexy! Because there were some pretty well-written bedroom scenes that rounded this book out. It had a unique plot (as all of Susan Napier's books do) and the characters were fleshed out really well. So well that even though they've only known each other for a short period of time, you get to know them and believe in their romance. I really, really enjoyed Mistress For a Weekend - worth every penny!

Mistress for a Weekend was one of the best love stories I've read in a long time. It was funny, fast-moving and very sexy. Not to mention loveable characters.
Tycoon Blake MacLeod thinks Nora has something special - confidential information. And he'll keep her in his bed to prevent her giving it away. Blake is really a sweet charachter which is shown with the way he works to win Nora's love, how she understands her fobia etc.

If you enjoy reading romances that are pure escape, romantic, with memorable dialogue & scenes, Cinderella-type romances, I highly recommend this book.

A must-read! A story full of passion, caring with funny moments.

This is one hot book! From cover to cover the relationship is steamy. Not much of those distracting & irritating dishonest by-play of words, keeping them from saying what they really feel about each other. The hero is attractive, wealthy, confident and surprisingly honest about his wants and needs. The heroine may be clumsy & awkward at times, but lovable in her sincerity & attempts at sophistication. I couldn't put it down. This is the first time I read a book from this author, but it certainly won't be the last.

Our baby has enjoyed "Daddy Hugs" since he was five months old, and Mommy wanted equal time, so we bought "Mommy Hugs" for Christmas -- another hit! The baby loves the Karen Katz books. He listens intently as we read them, looking at the colorful illustrations. This book holds his rapt attention until we reach 9 hugs, at which point he knows bedtime is coming and gets antsy! This is a fantastic book and I highly recommend it.

Mommy Loves Her Bunny

ISBN 0439443229 - The cover of this book, alone, earned it the fifth star - Mommy and baby bunny are soft, fuzzy and pet-able! The text is okay, and bound to please readers of the sort who think petting a book is cool, if you know who I mean.

Each page features a Mommy/baby set of animals - bunnies, duckies, piggies and mousies - with simple text. Every baby loves their mommy and each Mommy, in turn, loves them back - including people, of course!

I'd really have liked them to carry the touch-y feel-y cover into the pages, but even without that, Mary Morgan's illustrations are very nicely done. There isn't a kid in the world who isn't going to enjoy a book in which he or she makes an appearance, however short (the book ends with "and Mommy loves you!").

I started trying to read to my daughter when she was 3 months old and I couldn't find a book that had just a few words per page, any more than that and I would lose her interest. And the last thing I wanted was for her first experience with books to be boring. So when I found this book I was thrilled. It has a great message of love and you can stretch out each page as much as your child's attention span can take by eleborating on the scenery, etc. My daughter just loves it and she is now 14 months. It always sooths her when she is fussy. A very sweet book.

My son LOVES this book. It's suitable for a 10month old, but the rounds monkeys are made of cardboard and got destroyed pretty quickly from being gnawed on. At 13 months, he knows the book by name, and I have to read it ten times a day. It's only 5 pages so not too annoying for me. :)

My 15 month old nephew loves this book. While his coordination is not so good yet that he can drop the little pog-like monkey disc in the slot at the bottom AND be able to watch it tumble, he "helps" me drop the monkey in and watches. My stepmother says her friend bought one for her two year old granddaughter and the kindergarten-aged brother loved it too. He read it to his sister and they both enjoyed it. Also, the book comes with two monkey discs so I suggest stashing one in a drawer and only leaving the kids with one at a time.

My 18 month old granddaughter LOVES this book. Matter of fact, it's a replacement for the original! Good for her coordination as there is a round 'chip' with the monkey on it that she has to put in a thin slot at the top of the page and then open a flap to get it out. Loves it!

My 14-month old loves to read this book b/c it is interactive. It comes with two little monkeys on cardboard discs. You drop the 'monkey' in a top slot and you can watch the monkey tumble down to the bottom of each page. While my little one doesn't really pay attention to the words he loves to lift the flap to find where the monkey tumbled to. It is a unique and fun concept. I'm looking for more like it.
