The book is a classic and one you must have in your kid's book basket. It's one of those that take you back to a simpler time in life, yet you feel like you can capture a little bit of that as you read the book to your child. My kids love to get lost in the pictures as they imagine what is happening, which always leads to great questions like, "what is she doing?"

Hildegarde Ford's "My Go to Bed Book" is a treasure, as are Mary Win's illustrations. This book hearkens to an earlier era, and I love its simplicity and style. Each illustration is a beauty, and it illustrates too a loving relationship between the mother in the story and the child.
The fact this book was originally published so long ago is amazing, as children still enjoy it today.

MY GO TO BED BOOK by Ford & Win is a refreshing, timeless classic. The boardbook style is comfortable and durable for pre-schoolers. The art work and colors are soothing, simple, and balanced to hold the child's attention. The author's words rhythmically weave bed time rituals into pleasant sounding rhymes. Children will quickly memorize and "read" back the story to the parents with great delight! The intimate message is that bed time is a meaningful, shared experience between parent and child.

This is a wonderfully whimsical book on the ABC's: U-Umbrella, V-Vegetables, W-Whale, and so forth! The illustrations are artistically striking, brilliantly colored, and are sure to stimulate babies senses while teach small children the ABC's. "My Little ABC's Book," is an enchanting little board book, vibrantly animated, that will fascinate your children and teach them too. Birth and up.

Bob Staake has done it again with quirky, colorful illustrations that appeal to little readers (and little listeners) everywhere. One of the best features of this book is the row of complete alphabet letters on the bottom of each page with a different letter highlighted. This feature helps children see the order of the alphabet as well as each letter's position. The repetition is a great teaching tool, and original letter-to-word relationships make the book all the more fun. This is a great companion to the Little Golden Picture Dictionary (illustrated by Staake) that will be released this June.

I bought this Bob Staake book for my 4-year-old, and now we BOTH fight over it! The design and visuals of the pages are extraordinary -- something about it as compelling for adults as it is for toddlers. Have not seen any children's book quite like this, and wholeheartedly recommend it. I only wish more toddler books were this sophisticated and smart.

We LOVE this book.

Using various NFL players in a variety of action and non-action poses, this book introduces young children to opposites. Big & small; narrow & wide; over & under; off & on; and various other opposites are shown. Adults may enjoy this book more, trying to identify the different football stars (some who have left the game) who are pictured in the book (some include Terrell Davis, Will Shields, and Randall Cunningham). However, youngsters who enjoy football will probably learn a thing or two from this book, too.

A football book that is truly educational!

My son loves anything having to do with a ball. He brightens at the sight of any ball. So, when we read this book together, he pays very close attention and loves to try to find the football in every picture. But beyond the fun, my son has learned the words: hello and goodbye, empty, on and off and others. We have other opposites books, but because this one has bright colors and of course footballs scattered throughout, I really think he learns faster from this one. He definitely has more fun reading it. I highly recommend it as a learning tool as well as a fun book.

One for me and my children and the other to donate to my local Library, so that other moms that are struggling to help their Autistic children potty train will have something to help them. I hope that this book gets wide spread rappidly as it is a great book for getting your child potty trained quickly and efficiently. Enjoy!

I used to work as the children's coordinator at our local public library, and this book was a favorite for the age 1-3 year crowd. Now that I have my own children, this is the must read book before bed. My 14 month old "reads" this book to me every night. The simple text and cute pictures are perfect. She says the words., then does the animal sound. Ath the end, she kisses the baby goodnight and sometimes has a conversation! This is a must have on your shelf!

This is a wonderful, simple book with gentle art and two word phrases on each double page spread. It is a good start for very beginning math: the concept of one and one to one correspondence.

The hook is the final page. Children will want to hear this over and over.

A simple little book, that seems like fun. What really sold me is that my daughter started 'reading' the book to us, after having it read to her a few times. Plus, she has so much fun reading this book. After deciding this was the perfect book, and that we should get a copy for ourselves as well as some extras for gifts, I was surprised to find it out of print. For a two or three year old, this strikes me as a classic book that should never go out of print!

My daughter (2 years) loves this book. She can recite the book from cover to cover and delights in finding new words to describe the lively animals. She never gets enough of the surprise at the end and always wants to read the book again so that she can look at herself in the mirror. An excellent choice to start youngsters on their reading journey.

I first read Zimm's books when my oldest child was a baby. We checked it out at the public library and it was an instant hit! When my second child was a baby we checked it out several more times. My child's first words and sounds came from these two wonderful books. My older child also loved these books because she could "read" them to her sister. I have another baby who continues to laugh and giggle as her older sisters read her this book over and over again. I hope Amazon can work a miracle and these books can become part of our family library collection.

This is a great first book for babies! The simple black and white drawings grabbed my daughters attention at 2 months of age. At one year of age now, she loves for us to sound out the animal sounds! This has been a great gift for all my friends who have small babies too. I keep hoping that they will begin reprinting the companion book: Ba Ba Ha Ha. The two books are wonderful! A must have for all parents and thier babies!

This is my three-month-old's favorite book...and has been since he was only six weeks! The simple black and white animal faces are perfect for babies to focus on. At first my baby would just look at the pictures, but now he smiles back at the smiling animals and coos at them. Give it as a gift to every friend you have who has a baby...I'm sure it will be a classic for their children too. This is a very high-yield little book written with Step 1 in mind. As the title implies, it focuses on pathology and pathophysiology. There is no wasted space, and don't be fooled by its small size, there is quite a lot of information in there. It is especially helpful as it contains useful information about refining your differential diagnosis (how to tell two similar diseases apart) based on sublties in the presentation. There is a lot of information you might not get in your pathology course (e.g. prerenal vs renal azotemia based on urine chemistry.) There is a section on zebras/syndromes (if you're like me, these are a devil to remember), a few pages of nice glossy images, and 75 Step 1 style questions with explanations in the back. Overally, a lot of information in a small package, including many unusual diseases not mentioned in many other review texts. A worthwhile read!

I'm also looking forward to using it on rotations starting this summer.

I could reduce the number of service calls I perform by over 50% if the pin owners simply followed this manual. The truth is, there isn't any other book that puts pinball repair in layman's terms. How many pinball owners can actually read schematics? How many really do their own circuit board repair? The point I would stress is that all the repairs in the book can be performed by just about anyone, no kind of previous experience necessary. It is truly an outstanding manual and should be required reading for all pinheads, novice or skilled.

This book has step-by-step help for people who have never maintained or repaired a pinball machine. The book has a full section on general repairs, another full section on fixing flippers, and chapters on what to look for when buying a machine, disassembling and setting up the machine, protecting the painted backglass and playing field, checking fuses and checking batteries for leaks.
The book has information about the balls, rubber rings, locks and missing keys, lightbulb types that should not be used, wiring problems, tips for making the machine faster and more fun to play, and where to find parts and game manuals.
This book gathers all this information in one volume, with a separate terminology section that describes the parts and operations of a pinball machine, a lengthy index, and over eighty illustrations. Highly recommended, best guide of its kind.

If you already own a machine, Bear's book will help you make repairs that you never dreamed you could do without a professional repair person. The explanations and drawings are presented for the novice. If you are a professional repair person, you will still probably pick up a tip or two from this book. I have many detailed repair books for pinball but I keep coming back to this one.

I acquired a 1971 Williams Klondike that had almost no maintenance performed on it in almost 25 years. Mr. Kamoroff's layman terms and step by step troubleshooting technics and hints saved me considerable money in returning a dead game into something special again. His simple approach to what may seem a difficult problem coupled with a everyman's writing style made for not only a handy manual but a very good read as well. I recommend this book to anyone who has an old pinball machine and I would not recommend anyone to even consider purchasing one without reading this book first.

I have been a fan of the writing of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross since college. She has a writing style which is tender, kind and honest. As with all of her other books you will find answers to your questions and feel comforted by her words.

A straightforward and compassionate follow-up to On Death and Dying.
Helpful Votes: 23 out of 24 total.
Review Date: 2005-08-16
Questions & Answers on Death and Dying is an extremely helpful resource to those who are bereaved or are on the cusp of being so. It is also a good introductory book, as was its predecessor-On Death and Dying-to the area of counseling psychology, specifically thanatology, the study of death and dying, for there are many issues in the dying process that are addressed: nonverbal symbolic language, prolongation of life, sudden death, suicide and terminal illness, fear, faith and hope to old age and just plain coping. Encompassed in the very latter, coping-wise, is not simply the patient and family but also the medical staff. The dynamics of dying have a process and to witness a loved one going through that process is obviously painful; it is the agonizing but inevitable hurt that no one wants to go through. But it can and will make the living stronger. This work in particular is helpful in many respects, because it is not necessarily a "how-to" guide on how to grieve or cope; it simply tries to answer the most fundamental and frequently asked questions that people have in respects to death and dying, i.e. emotional and physical pain, loneliness, anger against God and healthy people and finding some caliber of meaningfulness in their life while simultaneously being in the throes of the dying process. The questions asked are sincere, moving and eloquent. The dam of curiosity is opened, and Elizabeth Kubler-Ross eloquently answers all questions, even ones we would not even think of asking. Her insightful and kindhearted responses go to the core of what we're all essentially curious about; she herself admits that in doing this work, it has created a religious belief system that she believed was nonexistent, as one question illustrates: "In all your research on death, what is your personal belief of what happens after death?" "Before I started working with dying patients, I did not believe in a life after death. I now do believe in a life after death, beyond a shadow of a doubt." What is so nice about this book is that it is a gap filler to the first book. What Elizabeth Kubler-Ross started with in On Death and Dying, the general public-the living and the dying (by their questions)-completed with Questions & Answers on Death and Dying; it went full circle, and it reads as such. This is a valuable work to have. Many, many topics are addressed, and there is no compassionate condescension or nihilistic overtones, just truth, information and loving understanding.
