Amazon has not provided any information about this book, so I am going to list some that I found on a card dated October 17,
1929 inserted into the copy I have. Hopefully it will give you some clues about the book if you are considering reading it:
"Dear Friend, I have read "The Identity of Douglas Bain" and consider it the most startling autobiography I have ever seen. Aside from being a fascinating story in itself, it answers perfectly and understandingly the questions of the inquiring thinker relative to God, the Church, the authenticity of the Gospels, and the present sense of existence, of disease, poverty, death, etc. And its careful exposition of the fruitage of sensualism is particularly valuable to those seeking spiritual advancement. Everyone, irrespective of religious training, should read this remarkable book. Sincerely, Harry L. Notter, Chicago Ill."
Now I have no idea who Harry Notter is, but the other side of the card has this to say:
"Why is this book so remarkable? Because of:
1. The absorbing story it contains
2. The astonishing incident of the healing in the desert
3. The Syrian's prayer, than which there is nothing more helpful in print
4. The fascinating revelations of the electrical nature of matter and the inescapable inferences
5. The recent discoveries as to the origin of the Old Testament
6. The new archeological discoveries and their bearing on religion
7. the recent discoveries as to Jesus and his teachings
8. The startling facts regarding church organization
9. The revelation of what is occurring in the churches, colleges, and all departments of human thinking
10. The array of facts on health, disease, life, death, immortality
11. The skillful setting forth of these and other data in a story of such power and beauty as have not been equalled in modern times.

I bought this as a gift for somebody who do not speak English and that wants to learn about oil painting... the gift turned
out to be pretty well welcome and its highly treasured as it seems that provides great guidance.
The book arrived in the tight timing and perfect condition as well.

I haven't read such beautiful poetry in a very, very long time. David Parker is truly an amazing poet. If you are looking
for romantic poetry this is the book you need to read. The poems gave me goosebumps and that's not very easy to do. They
will make anyone fall in love. I recommend this book to everyone. My favorite poem from the book is called "Her Ocean" Ladies
you will definitely love it.

perdon pero solo en español:Este modesto libro es para el buscador espiritual una joya de dificil apreciacion.Su riqueza permanece
en la humildad y versacion de su autor y permite vislumbres insospechadas en su titulo.Quizas debiera llamarse Una mirada
al camino del Saber.Lo recomiendo calurosamente , especialmente para no iniciados.

Civil War buffs who know a little about society in the Old South are common enough, but putting that together with some knowledge
of traditional Gypsie culture produces an unusual, amusing, and romantic novel in which a band of gypsies find themselves
in a land where they are no more welcome than free blacks.
