...from a cancelled product line. Birthright was one of TSR's most innovative settings, so I was startled that it was cancelled
after less than 3 years. There were misfires (a couple lackluster adventures and the seemingly endless barrage of realm books)
but this supplement proves just how good Birthright could be. The spectacular glimpse into a distant past when noble Giants
ruled the land is worth the price alone.

Uniquely written in the style of the epic poem

Robert F. Kauffmann's The Mask Of Ollock is a wonderful and distinctive fantasy, uniquely written in the style of the epic
poem. The lengthy saga of a world torn in conflict among politicians, wizards, and demonic spirits is recounted in rhyming
verse and powerfully illustrated with stark black-and-white artwork. A superb book for fantasy enthusiasts who tire of the
same old prose and long to enjoy a thrilling new experience. Ollock grinned in his golden mask/in deep abiding satisfaction:/"Let
us withdraw to yonder hill/To discuss our imminent alliance together/Chosen from among our faithful following."/And Arrack
and Ollock withdrew as stated,/Signaling soldiers to follow in train.

Modern fairy tale that's fun for the whole family

The Monotonia Chronicles are anything but! This CD collection of stories has entertained my whole family on numerous road
trips to the mountains. And the fact that my 6- and 9-year-olds keep asking for it speaks volumes.
There are three related stories, and each is clever, fun, and unpredictable in its own right. Together, they form a story arc unique to most fairy tales: a courtship, the early years of a marriage, and parenthood (plus a lot of adventure along the way). In other words, the Monotonia Chronicles are inventive and modern, while maintaining the fun of a traditional fairy-tale structure. Being the most handsome isn't what gets you the girl. :-)
The stories are also nicely paced (and very well-read by Cynthia Marcucci -- she does great voices!), and should appeal to both kids and parents. Our collective favorite part involves a hex that throws the unfortunate bearer into the mud at every chance. This is a really fun CD!

The Witch King was a fantastic Book. I read it last year, and it was very interesting. I liked it so much, I read it three
times through out the year total. I really liked the Character Wolf, and the king was great too. The best part about the
book, was...wait a minute...I don't want to give it away! Allright, I liked the Spell performed that Made the Ocean wash
up on shore. This book also contains a very deep plot, centered around saving a Town, or Destroying it. A must read for
any fan of Spells, Magic, and Science Fiction in General!

In a superior series, this is an oustanding book. Explaining so much about the Gunslinger we love, yet loathe at the same
time. I couldn't put it down.

My opinion is that J.K.Rowling is a Gifted author. I think it speaks volumes that the Harry Potter series of books and movies
have captured children and adults of all ages all over the world. These books are literature, they are brilliantly written.
Personally I don't think there could be enough books that make the point of acceptance, tollerance and standing up for one's
own beliefs and values. I've read them all multiple times and will continue to do so.
Excellent audio-book!

The audio book is truly excellent. I strongly recomend it, not only to youths. The CD is a full version of the book. It's
performed by Jim Dale, who does an excellent job so that it's hard to believe that there's only one actor.

The 4 books in the set are:
1. The Shamutanti Hills (Steve Jackson's Sorcery, Sorcery! 1). Begin your quest by traversing the wilderness from Analand to Kharé, ending the book in a climatic battle with a vicious man-eater.
2. Kharé: Cityport of Traps (Steve Jackson's Sorcery, Sorcery! 2). Continue your quest by finding and deciphering the four lost lines of a spell that opens the Northern Gate of the walled cityport Kharé.
3. The Seven Serpents (Steve Jackson's Sorcery, Sorcery! 3). Survive the dangers of the Bakland wasteland while thwarting the serpentine messengers of the evil Archmage from warning their master of your progress.
4. The Crown of Kings (Steve Jackson's Sorcery, Sorcery! 4). Storm the Mampang fortress and put a final end to the rule of the evil Archmage.
The original series also featured a fifth book, The Spell Book, but all necessary information is included at the back of each book in the current set. Unfortunately, these books are unavailable in the US, as of June, 2008. However, Amazon Canada and UK have them for sale at times.
