I just finished reading this book the other day, and I think it's very cute and funny! Diglett is having a birthday party and four of it's friends have come to celebrate. However, there's one problem: Diglett's cave is so dark that no one can see anything! However, Diglett continues to have his party even though his friends can't see. I think it's cute to guess what Diglett and his family look like. We get to see the inside of the cave twice: once when the candles on Diglett's cake are lit, and another time when the toy plane that Diglett got for his birthday breaks a hole in the roof of his cave and lets light in. I think this a very cute book because kids can use their imaginations to envision what the members of Diglett's family look like.

In my opinion, this book isn't for Pokemon fans who want to catch more Pokemon. It's more of a little kid's book. A lot of Pokemon are living together in the forest, when Clefairy loses it's voice. This is bad, because it's Clefairy's job to wake all the other Pokemon up in the morning. The elder tells the Pokemon that someone has stolen Clefairy's voice, so Clefairy's friends go on a search to find it. They look all over the forest for it, but it turns out a little girl found Clefairy's voice, trapped in a bottle. The little gives it to a Ponyta and Clefairy gets it's voice back. I think this is a good book because it teaches two lessons. One, it teaches kids not to give up. Two, it teaches kids that sometimes you need help from others to get a job done. All in all, I think this would be a very good book for kids.

Both my boys love this one. We read it every night before bed for a week. It is a very sturdy board book and a cute story. There are a few sentences on each page. The pictures and story are fun! I like this author's books. If you like this one you might like Pikachu in Love by Tracey West. It is a picture book with several sentences per page.

This is a great book: it teaches how to evaluate the balance of teritorry, which is a fundamental ability for players of all levels.
One cannot just play blindly, but make all decisions according to the situation: should play aggresively when behind, and cautiously when ahead.

Here are thirty-three games annotated over 172 pages in the inimitable Mednis way. In my opinion, Mednis was the best grandmaster at annotating for the masses (not that many even attempted it). Other than the necessity of having this book for games annotated by Mednis, the independent value is that these are modern games, with lots of Sicilians (10). Along with Mastering the Strategic Game, and How Karpov Wins, this is an essential part of my collection. Each chapter oopens with a brief description of the theme to be fleshed out by the games in that section. The whole book consists of complete annotated games. Nicely produced as well.

I got this game for my brother, who is an architecture major. I just thought he'd enjoy the pictures of the buildings, but the game itself is really fun, especially for a group of 4 or 5. It was somewhat complicated to learn, but once we had played it a few times, we all really enjoyed it. It involves collecting the cards that, when put together, make up a famous building. There's also an element of speed and being the first to match cards.
There is some information about the buildings included, but the game does not teach you about the buildings and having prior architecture knowledge doesn't help you with the game. However, this item would obviously be cooler for someone who appreciates architecture than for someone who doesn't.

This is a fascinating book that goes into great detail on cheating methods for many gambling games including slot machines, poker, roulette and craps. There are also discussions of three-card Monte, cheating devices, carnival games, counterfeiting, pool, horse racing, and "miscellaneous schemes and frauds." Protection is rich in visuals, including slot machine schematics and reprints of old news stories about cheating. It's a great reference work!

I have never heard of this Laura Logan, but she is an awesome illustrator. Her artwork is very fresh and affectionate. I would love to see more of her artwork in children's books.

Snorlax has one of the biggest appeties in all of Pokémon-dom, so how does he satisfy such a hunger? Well, when you're surrounded by Oddish (looks like a raddish) and Tangela (oodles o' noodles), I guess you'll have to make do....
Cannibalism amoung Pokémon.... weird...
How's Snorlax to get himself out of this predicament? I guess you'll have to find out yourself, because I'm sure as not going to tell you! So :P
