Motwani is indeed somewhat eccentric; but a "hack" is generally considered someone who cranks out illegitimate garbage. While Motwani has some bizarre tangents in his books, 95% of the book, which is the pure chess material, is first rate. This boom is a collection of very well annotated games by most of the players who are the best in the world in the early 21st century. The annotations are sharp and insightful, and Motwani has a tremendous enthusiasm for chess, which shines through on each page of his works.

In this book, he comments several of his winning games against Japanese 9 dans and illustrates MANY important concepts. A good buy for anyone under 1 dan pro :)

Very captivating for kindergarten age group. Kept my son very interested. All the books in this series are great.

I got this colorful book game/poster/punch out model set when I was in 5th grade along with a rain forest one. it is great! the colorful pages caused me to want to learn more about the animals in the pictures creating a lifelong love of aquatic animals. I still have the books, and want the rest in the set. I am studying to be a teacher and you know that these books/ posters/ and games will adorne my classroom. (the models are long since gone as I got these when I was 10 years old. :-)
