Board Games Books

We got this for my 6 1/2 mos old and he absolutely loves it. I agree 100% with the other reviewer. He loves feeling the different textures on each page and almost seems to anticipate whats going to be on the next page. It's not a tiny board book (like many others) and it has large, colorful pictures which keep his attention. The pages are thick, too, so it should last through the teething stage! I only wish it had 1 or 2 more pages to it ...

My 7 month old loves this book! It's great because he's at the age now where reading to him is hard because he wants to chew on the pages. The pages of this book are much thicker than the average board book, so it's practically indestructible. Plus, each page has lots of different textures that he loves to feel and it actually holds his attention. With other books, he gets bored and looks away. He actually gets excited when mommy says "let's read about the puppies".

Part of a quartet of books by the same author and illustrator, What Can You Do in the Sun, presents pictures of joy in the simple pleasures of the summer. The illustrations evoke images of a childhood well spent in wholesome outdoor experiences. Sadly, these may not be experienced by many children unless parents take the ideas from these little books to heart and let their children lead the way. Have fun making and chasing rainbows!

A sweet look on the beauty and power of the sun. Contains excellent color illustrations and will be of interest on the Kindergarten level.

I am a 4th grade teacher and my students love these games. I use them as literacy centers. My students help make the game boards and I laminate the cards so I can use them over and over again. You will love ALL the books

Stduents love playing these games! They are great for providing differentiation in a classroom with varied reading levels!

This is a great book for those interested in go studies. The commentaries are verbose and and very thorough. It contains all the final games in the 1971 Honinbo and all of Ishida's (the winner) games in the tournament.

I played this game frequently when I was a teen-ager. I loved Sherlock Holmes stories as a kid and this game is a perfect extension. The game encourages reading and listening skills. A short mystery is read aloud at the beginning of the game and players visit different parts of the board game collecting new pieces of information. The first person to correctly solve the mystery wins. The only downside of the game is after you've read all of the mysteries, there may not be any refill packs available to refresh the game for continued playing.

This book is excellent for adults who travel by car over long distances. It has games and puzzles that require thought, logic, and creativity. This is *not* a book for children because of the complexity of the games. It is, however, a great book for friends or family who are traveling together. I highly recommend it!

I think my child is too young to understand the puppets included, she does love the stories and the size of the book is nice, a bit larger and lots to look at! Maybe better for 3 - 3 1/2 year olds who get what the little felt puppets are? I would still buy it, however!

When I saw this book on the book shelf I couldn't put it down. It's fun rhyme goes through the alphabit using foods. The book is uniquely shapeed to look as though someone has taken a bite out of the book. At the end of the book, you find out who has been eating their way through the alphabit. My child enjoyed this book as much as I did. (maybe I enjoyed it more ;). I also felt this book expanded my childs vocabulary by teaching her what Quail, Kiwi, and other uncommon foods meant. This book would make a nice addition to any child library

This was one of the first board books we tried with our son and he loved it from the first or second time we tried reading it to him at age 4-5 months. There is not much to it, but the photos and graphics still appeal to him months later. He has other books with photos of other babies, but he doesn't like them, but for some reason he enjoys the photos of babies in this book.
