Deet is a 13-year-old boy whose father is arrested for drugs that he used to stay awake for his two jobs. Deet is very shocked to hear this news. Now mom is forced to work her old job at the diner. Her and Deet sets up a monthly budget to live by. Deet now has to take care of his two younger siblings and also cook dinner. Now Deet has to grow up quickly if their plan is going to work. Deet also has to juggle his schoolwork with this new plan. Deet has been regularly going to the jail to visit his father, after school is finished. He has learned that jail is not such a horrible place as they show it in the movies. This is a fictional novel. I would recommend this book for any middle school student. Want to know how Deet juggles everything. You're just going to have to read the book and find out.

A Charming, colorful, easy to read book for children. In this day when children need education and guidance in how to help protect our environment and the animals and reptiles that inhabit our world,this book is a great starting point.

Kevin L. Smith does an execellent job of getting his point across and being very thorough. During the course of this book you will be taken back in time to the early years of this country's business infrastructure development(pre-imancipation America). He does that to give a historical bases for his ideas on the slave mentality that black business persons must overcomed if their going to be successful in their entrepreneual activities. He then discusses the roles of the Family, the church, and the community in shaping how young black kids think about business and investing and their chances for success in the business arena.
Although he dedicates a good portion of the book to the above topics, he also concisely covers all of the aspects of starting, operating, and managing a successful business and outlines the pitfalls black enterpreneurs should avoid, mentally, spiritually, and socially.
It is my opinion that this book should be considered as required reading for all junior high and high school students. Although the title states "Financial attitudes and language for African-Americans", I feel everyone, no matter your culture or ethnicity, could benefit from reading this powerful business tool.

Everyone especially Christians should read this book. Thomas Young was gifted an experience from God and he put it into a book. The book is a very easy read and I actually read it in a few days. The book is amazing. I highlighted like 25% of the book. The entire book is based on 8 verses but it goes into detail. It shows you the entire attribute of our Savior Jesus Christ and lets you know exactly the nature of the God you worship and serve. Please read this book.

This book is for anyone willing to look at themselves and are ready for a change. The author is full of wisdom, compassion and truth. A must read book for those with cancer, or being touched with a family member or friend with cancer. It goes way beyond dealing with cancer. In fact the whole book is about being well and staying well through mind, body and spirit.

THis is an awsome book by Wm Lynwood Montell that is written about the life and times of the Cumberland River. Wonderful book just as all Mr Montells books are.
