This book was very well written. It was one of those books you just can't put down reading. I have read it and reread it now three times. Each time I get new insights out of the book. I'm thinking about starting a Bible study and using this book as the course to teach off of. Thank you Matt Webster!!! Kudos to you~a masterpiece!

Yoon's words and pictures tell of a time when people were interned for the way they looked and their ancenstry. She allows the reader to be drawn in by the helplessness that must have been felt by Japanese Americans during WWII. Her descriptions are haunting and will never let you forget the words of those that were interned. She has a way of writing that conveys her deep feelings for those who were imprisoned and pulls the reader in emotionally. This book expresses feelings that I hope will never be felt again.

A very good book. Very funny.

I had a great time reading this book. It takes you from the heartland of Wisconsin to places (literally) out of this world. The plot, a sort of ecological love story, is pretty complex, but Hampel is a skillful writer and I never got lost, not once. The part about the Green Bay Packer-backer is priceless. I found myself laughing out loud several times. Highly recommended.

I loved this book!

I loved this book! A friend got Wherever You Go, There You Are, in a bookstore in northern Wisconsin, and recommended it to me. I got a copy and wasn't able to put it down for the whole weekend until I finished it. What I liked best was Mystery Rock Hill and the Synandra Wasson character, who has the most amazing relationship with our planet earth. She's guided by an old Indian medicine man who also has amazing magical powers. Synandra's a truly magical person in a magical world, and is now one of my favorite literary characters. The book also has a strong, but upbeat ecological message that I liked. I hope Hampel will write another book about her and Mystery Rock Hill.

This is the most wonderful book. You find yourself wishing fervertly to God that you had known her. This is a book that I read at least once a year, maybe more, along side "A Prayer For Owen Meany". Please read this book.

Side-splitting and Heart-warming

Aloise Buckley Heath, the late eldest sister of William F. Buckley, Jr., and herself the mother of 10 children, periodically wrote essays for her brother's magazine, National Review, during the 1960s. Many of them addressed life with her children, and several were about their preparations for Christmas. However, the title derives from an episode in which her child asked Aloise whether a neighbor was committing a mortal sin by voting for LBJ. Mom explained her views on responsible and moral voting, then composed a song predicting that the neighbor would go to hell. As she explains, she really couldn't blame the children of the neighborhood for calling Mrs. Major morning, noon and night to sing her the song. Mrs. Heath had, after all, delighted as her own kids brought all of their friends round to hear Mom's outrageously funny song, and pretty soon, Mom was arranging harmonies and rounds. The poor children probably couldn't think of anything else.

Mrs. Heath's look at life -- at soap operas (and their necessity for the modern housewife), movie magazines, politics, child-rearing, and husbands -- was imbued with self-deprecating humor and an unusual insight into and respect for children. Her book reveals a compellingly sympathetic person, for whose sudden death (of cerebral hemorrhage) the reader grieves, even decades later.

This book is one of the most inspirational books you will ever read. I have struggled with many illnesses throughout the course of my life. I have experienced considerable pain, hopelessness, fear, and overwhelming emotion. This book has given me the strength and determination to keep fighting. It is filled with countless experiences of remarkable individuals who have overcome their hardships and have become role models for others who walk a similar path. Reading this book has shown me that there is always hope and love for those who need it during times of adversity. It is a must read for anyone facing hardship that may seem unbearable and forget that life is a fight worth fighting.

This book is for anybody who might encounter tough challenges. In other words, this book is for everybody. In sixteen short and very readable chapters Dietz offers an abundance of practical advice which can transform hopelessness into optimism, sullenness into joy and a defeatist attitude into a willingness to overcome every tough challenge life may present.

Beautiful poetry about timeless places and people

Despite the title, Brodsky's work does take us back, back to the feel and joy of a youth spent in the North Woods and the places where youth ought to be spent. Great reading for those who just want to revel in the beauty of words descibing beautiful ideas.

This book is critical to any Nebagamon lover's library, alongside such works as Willy Stern's "There's an Old Southern Saying" and Brad Herzog's "States of Mind."

Great book, great memories, especially for anyone who's ever spent a summer in the North Woods. If the words "Sawbill," "Muggs Lorber" or "Upper Diamond" mean something to you, you'll find yourself reading these poems again and again.

I'm generally out of the house for 12 hours each day between work and my commute, and this is a life saver cookbook! There are tons of yummy recipes that don't require much prep work, and then you have a great meal when you get home! Note--you may have to cut the recipes down because they're made for large crockpots. Learned this after my first try!
