this isn't a bad book

This book to me isn't quite as lovable as the claymation feature a grand day out, close shave, and the wrong trousers. It is entertaining and suspensful, but lacks the punchy timing of the movies. It is worth while, but i would suggest owning the movies before owning this.

Anoraknophobia: a masterpiece!

Absolutely brilliant! The story begins when Wallace invents a "Ping Pong O'Matic Automated Home Leisure System", but when the machine goes haywire and destroys the washing machine, Wallace needs to pay a hefty repair bill. And so the man and his dog enter an Invention Convention sponsored by the Acme Corporation- with a first prize of £100. But soon, everything's not all as it seems...

The plot of this book is fabulous, the art is superb and the colours are nice and bright! Of the new characters introduced, the best are Mr. Patel, Wallace's next-door neighbour, an expert on pigeons and prevailing wind conditions, and the hillariously funny Mr. Do-it-all, the Hotel Splendio's doorman, receptionist, porter, bell boy, gardener, barman, room-service operative, and owner: "It's a job share," according to Mr. Do-it-all.

I would recommend this book to anyone- if you've never seen Wallace and Gromit before, you should still read this book- it is absolutely brilliant.

Marillion does the Soundtrack - the next film!?

Yet another classic! Forget CHICKEN RUN, let's see the man and his dog on the HOLLYWOOD silver screen. Better yet, get Marillion to do the soundtrack - their latest album just out is called ANORAKNOPHOBIA! (coincidence? Fate? Act of God?) This book takes the intrepid duo into the realm of Hollywood possiblities with a plot that rivals James Bond and Austin Powers, characters like the enigmatic and intriguing Queenie who is at once frightening and wildly attractive, and the villianous von Struedel who could beat Dr. Evil at ping pong any day! Funny throughout, yet another winner from the folk who brought you W&G: the Lost Slipper and the Curse of the Ramsbottoms. Great bedtime fare!

Wallace and Gromit: Anoraknophobia is a great book for even a person that isn't interested in the claymation movies. It features the oscar winning character Wallace and his faithful dog pal Gromit. The book is very humorous at times but also puts it's share in with suspense. It takes place when Wallace creates a ping pong -o- matic home leisure system. Wallace tests out the new home leisure system he breaks his irreplaceable drum on account of they are on a budget. Wallace decides to enter in a invention convention to raise money for the new drum there and the wackiness begins! This is a great book that is very well drawn and thought out. If you liked movies such as "The Wrong Trousers" or "A Grand Day Out," you should definatly check this book out.

I love this calendar because it has so many new images that I've never seen before. They're not from the movies, and they're not from any shorts. They look great, are colorful, and a must for any Wallace and Gromit Lover!

This is a great book for any Wallace and Gromit fan who has seen the "Were-rabbit" movie. The way this book was put together would make it a great reader for children in grades 3 or 4. One half of the book is Gromit's point of view of what happened through the movie. The other half of the book is Philip's side of the story. Book includes some black and white pictures throughout which would keep a child interested in the story. All in all well worth the money and a fun little addition to any Wallace and Gromit fan's collection. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Adorable, funny and well written

I love the Wallace and Gromit shorts and movie, and this book really made a fun read for me, an adult. The author uses scenes from the movie, "Wallace and Gromit: the Curse of the Wererabbit" to write the diaries, and I was laughing through the whole book. Gromit is contemplative and witty while Phillip is focused more on the physical, thinking about which person to bite next. The book reads fast, as it is a paperback with only 80 pages.

I bought this calendar to add to the theme in our kitchen of Wallace and Gromit because we really enjoy the characters. Each month shows the characters doing something absurdly funny. Only a fan would understand the pictures each month and they are comical and add laughter to our days.

Coolest Calendar Ever!!!

This is an aweseome calendar! The pictures representing each month are well staged and so interesting to look at. They came out with a 2007 calendar which I sat on wait for months and it still never became available. This one however shipped right away. If you compare the pictures Amazon had online for the months within the 2007 calendar, this one is much better. They must have hired a marketing guru who knew how to showcase the characters in funny situations that were not only interesting but true to the characters. Great for use as a calendar or for the collector. 5 Stars!!!!!

There is no way around the fact that there is no such thing as too much Wallace and Gromit. This wonderful little book should be a film! It has all the Wallace and Gromit modis operandi that we know and love.
As much as the rocket to the moon to have cheeze, this story with the submarine was so enjoyable. More Wallace and Gromit, please.

diabolically entertaining and cleverly humorous--this is my favorite "Wallace and Gromit". the penguin adds the much needed tension that seperates the mind set of the crafty dog Gromit from his simpleton owner, Wallace. it is an enjoyable narrative for all ages.

Has To Be The Best Wallace & Gromit Book Ever!

I bought this book as I have an appreciation not only for the characters but the art behind the movie. This book not only goes into behind the scene details, but breaks out the main characters and explains the thought behind each including pictures of unfinished characters either in clay or sketch format. It really helps one get a feel for the process as a whole. Filled with many full color pictures this would make an awesome gift for any Wallace and Gromit fan. It has to be by far the best and most comprehensive Wallace and Gromit book I've seen. Congrats Aardman!

Another simple board book that introduces little ones to Gromit of Wallace and Gromit. There are few pages, no dramatic illustrations, and minimal text, but that is the gist of Wallace and Gromit to begin with. Just an adorable way to bring W & G to your child. It is for very young children, but my 3 year old still loves to read them!

Another board book in the Wallace and Gromit series and might I say its about time! I wanted to get my son interested in W & G and these books were just the trick! This book is cute, a little longer than the others, though it is by no means a novel. Adorable illustrations, just a wonderful little Gem. We love at the end when Shaun lays on Gromits head to keep his ears warm! Again, this one is for little ones, but my 3 year still likes this one too!
