I teach many computer and DTP courses and rely extensively on texts for source material and as references. This book is simply the best book ever written on the subject of vector based computer drawing and DTP. Period

Easy to read, easy to use. Great package for Quark users who want to create multimedia content. I took the book home for Christmas and by new year I was creating rich interactive presentations. Limited only by it's lack of support for databases.

Excellent resource for both the physician in training, as well as the seasoned practitioner. Easy to follow, excellent anatomic images, allowed me to understand the relevant anatomy and improve my success rate for techniques!

it is a very intresting boo

This CD-ROM contains some of the techniques used by one of the best guitarrits in the world: Richie Sambora, from BON JOVI. He teaches you how to play some Bon Jovi songs, and at the same time, he teaches you some riffs. Also, he shows his best and favorite guitars. If you are a guitar player, you MUST have this CD-ROM.

"Cool Mac Apps" Third Edition by Robin Williams is an excellent information provider for anyone using Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Covered in this book are the mac applications iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iTunes, Mail and more, twelve in all.
There is an explanation of the application and instructions on how to do each of the functions within the application. The book is quite detailed. For example iPhoto itself is 97 pages.
This is an excellent book for reference after going through it at least once. I have prior editions and refer to them whenever I have a question on a covered application. Of course with each new Edition many features are repeated from the prior but the latest Edition incorporates all the new features of those applications.

This book is now part of my reference library and it is highly recommended. I would give it a 5 star rating.

This book was even better than I was expecting. I found it very entertaining to read. It teaches basic principles about the iphone and then goes into a lot of advanced depth, including work arounds and extras. It mentions third-party sites and other things to make using the iphone even more fun. This book is monochromatic--blue and white--with no 4-color photo images. I thought this would bother me, but it doesn't because the layout is simple and clean. I'm glad they went that route to keep the price around 10 bucks. I found this book more helpful than other books about the iphone and for half the price. For instance, Scott Kelby is really great (I saw him at Photoshop World), but I was quite disappointed when I didn't really learn anything from his book. Maybe he'll publish a second edition that will have more info.

I bought this book about 3 weeks ago and I still find myself picking it up every now and then. I always find something new to learn. It's small size (about 5x6) makes it easy to transport in my bag so I can take it anywhere.

Pros: While this manual is not as complete and technical as the phone-book size Missing Manual (Pogue), it is very detailed. It is written in language anyone can understand with many clear screenshot llustrations. I think it would be an excellent book for someone who is very new to Apple OS X. I have been using Macs for more than ten years. I bought this after using OS X (and now Jaguar) for over a year and I learned how to take care of some annoying things and also how to use many things I didn't know I had. It is laid out as 24 chapters (thus the 24 hour title) clearly named in the Table of Contents so you can easily find what you are looking for. The chapters end with a summary and a helpful Q & A section that often covers troubleshooting questions. These are followed by Workhop (practice), Quiz questions and Activities. Almost every option from the file menus of every program is defined in simple English as you learn about the program.
Cons: Some of the programs have been updated either with Jaguar or with downloads and these latest features or options aren't covered. As I said before it is not as technical as others, i.e. you will not find sections on Bluetooth.

Great for anyone who wants a "hands-on" guide to the mechanics of scanning & printing. Lots of comparison charts to show different techniques, loads of explination of those hard to grasp subjects. Brilliant worked tables. Well worth the money! :O)
