This Book explains everything you need to know about upgrading, making small repairs, and troubleshooting. I found it very useful all around and keep it on hand like a bible. My technicians find it very resourceful. Very helpful in business as well.

Even though I currently use Pagemaker 6.5 - this book remains at my side. It is quite simply the best reference on the subject of Page Layout. Even if you use another program, Ms Williams tips on good design are worth the price. Though Pagemakers interface has changed, nearly everything in this book pertains to the current version. Its also without doubt the most readable and beautifully designed computer book I've read to date. BUY IT! before its discontinued, You won't regret it.

I bought the book first and then bought my IPOD! The book was a great resource for a 'techy' novice like myself and was a great help in getting started! Damon kept the language simple, but made sure you understood the IPOD jargon. My friends and I trade tips now that we all have the book. When I ran into something I wasn't sure how to handle, the book enabled me to get unstuck. I also appreciated the size as well as the ability to condense the necessary information to be able to enjoy the IPOD quickly!

This book is very well written book. Most information in this book remains vaild such as good power saving techniques and what to bring while on the road. Information about the PowerBooks are about the 100 series so its about a couple of generations behind. It would be nice if this book was updated with another edition

I found out all I ever wanted to know about the Power PC chip and it's development. This is a very interesting book and a must-read title for anyone who ever wanted to know about the hardware that makes their Mac tick.I would really LOVE to see a new book describing the G3 and G4 chips and beyond by this author.He made even the most complex descriptions of chip architecture understandable and appealing and I'd like to have the same wealth of info on the new technology we've gotten since the publishing of this book. I hope I can find a way to contact Mr. Pronk, as I find his descriptions fascinating and complete.

Power Macintosh Programming Starter Kit is an excellent book on PowerPC programming. Mr. Thompson has gone to great lengths to present as much information on the inards of PowerPC programming that the average programmer can handle. The code examples were very informative, and the example programs were actually useful. Recommended for anyone who is interested in PPC programming.

This is a cool little book that slips right into the carrying case for my iBook. There is so little out there in print for supporting iBooks and PowerBooks, and who wants to lug around a big book anyway. This portable little guide covers all of the basics and then some, and has already saved me hours of wasted time trying to set something up or troubleshoot a problem. (It's tough being one of only three or four students in the dorm with a Mac.) This is just what I needed.
