This is a great book. The authors know their subject well, and more important they know how to explain it in language that is easily understood. (Plus, it's even kind of funny sometimes.) To put it simply, I'm getting more out of my Pocket PC than I was before--much more than if I'd just tried to figure the thing out on my own. Again, this is an excellent aid--and for me, necessary.

Trying to use the Dell manual left me frustrated but this book has been invaluable. Even things that were mentioned briefly or not at all in the manual, are outlined step by step in this book.

A couple of years ago, I got Podcast Solutions and was really impressed with its' overall content. For its' time. Of course, with everything on the web, practically everything changes and thus, a new edition of this book had to be released. And it's still probably the best book out there. Lots of updated information on how to create, edit and upload podcasts and for the most part, do it on the cheap since if you're really looking to make a million bucks doing this, keep looking. Lots more stuff on video which has truly taken off thanks to YouTube and similar sites and newer ways to promote and get advertisers to your site. You'll also learn how to use WordPress and similar blogs and create a podcast site as a result. That's what I did with one of my clients. Not as thick as the Bibles out there but at least you won't get a hernia trying to lift it. You should be getting ideas for your own (or your clients own) podcasts within minutes of surfing thru this book.

The perfect book for all podcasters.

Yes that's right, this is the perfect book for any and all podcasters. If you are a podcaster, or want to be one or just want to find out what it's all about buy this book.

The title says it all; Podcast Solutions. Chock full of info, written concisely, humorously, intelligently, informatively and in language that anyone can understand (even me) this is the one book to buy on the subject. It takes you step by step down the road to conceiving, creating, recording, producing and profiting from your show idea. This book covers every nook and cranny of the considerable field of information on both podcasts and vodcasts.

I personally have used both editions of this book to help me get my podcast going as well as optimizing it once it was up and running. What I really enjoyed about this book is how the authors explain things so that not only do you know what to do next but also why it works. Not only that there are many highlighted sections where the authors share a personal experience that really drives a point home. This brings the whole process into very sharp focus.

And their personal experience goes way beyond the technical aspects of podcasting and vodcasting. On page 85, for example, they share a tip that is critical to anyone who really wants to make effective communication with their material. And that is this; "speak as if you are speaking to one person". That one piece of advice can turn a blah and lifeless presentation into one with depth and impact. This book is loaded with tips like that.

I can't say enough good about this book. Without it I may not have gotten my podcast going. The two guys who wrote it have been doing this since it began and they know all the tricks. Don't think about, just buy the book. You'll thank me and more importantly you'll thank the authors Dan Klass and Michael W. Geoghegan.

I picked up this book at a bookstore, and even though I didn't buy it, It looked really good. Now of course this is a good book only if you like pokemon. This is the first Choose Your Adventures Pokemon book. You should browse through it first to see if you like it, but I say that it looks like a really good book.

I am a retired professional sales engineer that founded a couple of manufactures' rep. firms and a construction company in the Houston area. Because my name is almost identical to the author's, I thought it would be interesting to know where he lives and from which limb of the family tree he comes!

I read this book cover to cover, and must admit its alot to read... but the book is filled with great ideas for using the power of a personal computer to increase sales performance. It's easy to tap into the power of PC's to help a sales person work "smarter not harder". A great deal... the book also includes Sales Ally software diskettes in the back. We've found it to be a full featured and powerful sales contact software product. You get alot for your money with this book. I bought it out of print, and its still fresh and new... it was easy to get.

I bought this book with a sense of unease. ... This book is well worth it. Whether youare a beginner, or advanced in the subject matter, I feel this book is worth the investment. It takes through basic concepts, to design strategies, all the way to execution. If I had to say one bad thing about this book, or if I could have a wish list for future editions, it would be that I felt the treatment of software should have been more complete. Delving into the pros and cons more. Don't get me wrong, there was an excellent chapter on software. I just walked away wishing there was more. Other than that, this book is excellent.

This book is well organized and offers a large number of very practical suggestions that will benefit an existing multimedia development or that will lead the beginner down the correct road. This is a thin book that offers exercises and case studies. Additionally, it is full of pictures that demonstrate well the practical application of the suggestions they offer. This book is a must have.

Being new to the field of multimedia design, I read many books hoping to get the basic idea of what is involved in creating an interactive project. This book provided me with exactly the introductory level materials I needed to begin building a solid foundation. I now have a plan of action for what I need to focus on in order to be successful in designing multimedia projects. Kudos to Lisa...I anxiously await the release of your new book!

A friend of mine recommended this book (he works for NASA) and I'm glad he did. This book talks about the basic principles of design necessary to creating a good web site or multimedia design project . . . in a way understandable to us non-programmers (but my tech-head friend at NASA liked it too). One of the strengths of this book (and there are too many to list) is that the author doesn't get trapped in talking about programming. This is very unlike other books that quickly go out of date due to a focus on the technology-of-the-moment. Ms. Graham talks about how to design interactive projects in a way undoubtedly valid 30 years from now. I feel as if this book will become a classic in design books. Even better yet, this book is very informative and not a bit condescending in tone. The book was an easy read and left me with plenty to think about.

And the cover is cool and the illustrations informative and interesting. Altogether a very good book and one that will have a place on my bookshelves for decades.

Wow! This is a super cool CD-ROM and book that make printing projects fun and exciting. As soon as I got the book I was excited to start printing, I printed a brightly colored lunch bag which turned out to be a total hit at my lunch table. This has endless craft ideas for everyone! I absolutely recommend this book and CD-ROM, the projects all turn out wonderful and the book includes instructions for each project. This is the perfect printing project publication!

I just love this print projects book and CD. I am a total klutz when it comes to being creative and this CD/book does it all for me. The graphics are colorful, bright and fun and the instructions are easy enough for even me. Even the more complex projects are made fun and easy. Just a partial list of projects are party kits, holiday and party decorations, crafts, iron-on transfers, scrapbooks, games, coloring pages, cards and stationery, even canning kits and jar toppers, photo family tree, recipe cards, garage sale kit, pet stuff like placemats, note cards, new pet announcements, videocassette covers, labels and even a mother's quilt! You do these and many more projects all on your printer! The author tells you all about the different paper types and ink to use and also how to print on non-paper media. I will be using this book alot! Highly recommended!

Great Addition

Although there have been several SMS 2003 related books released lately (and long overdue in my opinion), each one has something additional to offer to the SMS Admin. SMS 2003 is a complex thing to understand and administrate, and I found "Pro SMS 2003" to be another useful addition to the books available. The emphasis placed in the first few chapters on understanding your network topology *before* starting to deploy important. Hopefully if a company is considering SMS they take to heart the planning stages as the critical step they are for a successful SMS deployment. The book also takes one through step-by-step setting up the agents, inventorying options, and some of the addons (like patch management and Feature Packs). To quote Rod himself "This is the book I wish someone had written for me when I first started working with the product."

Excellent Introduction to PLC
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2004-03-09
This is an excellent book for learning about PLC's. It starts with basics and ends with PLC control system design of Dehydration columns. In chapter 2 Binary logic fundamentals are introduced which lay the foundation for understanding PLC's. This chapter is clearly written and easy to read, which makes understanding following chapters very easy. Basic Electrical and Electronic fundamentals are clearly explained in chapter 3. In chapter 4 Input/Outputs systems are very nicely explained. The best part of the book is the way to explains memory, addressing and ladder logic. SFC's are very briefly explained in this book. This book justifies theory with nice practical examples. Most of the examples are based on AB PLC or Siemens PLC's. This book explains all practical aspects of PLC's very nicely. I strongly recommend this book for beginners and Instructors.

Good explanation of most aspects of PLCs

Review Date: 2002-02-01
This book is a good textbook for beginners and a good review/reference for more experienced PLC users. Its explanation of the new IEC 61131-3 programming languages is helpful, since many of us in the US have never dealt with anything other than Ladder Logic. For examples that require reference to a particular PLC, the book most often refers to Allen Bradly PLC5 and Siemens Simatic S7 series.
