System Management Books

I just started reading this book this weekend and I have been very happy so far. It's on a topic that almost nothing has been written about, and importantly it is CURRENT © 2006! So much of what little is out there is too old.

Prior to this book I had read `Analysis of Panel Data' by Cheng Hsiao, Andrew Chesher, Matthew Jackson but that book was more academic, and dealt more with traditional panels, and `longitudinal panels' (data that follows a given sample of individuals over time).

Andrei Postoaca's book on the other hand is more relevant for the other 95% of research, which is more often than not conducted Online these days with dynamic panels. Andrei is clear and honest and covers important issues from sample quality to costs/margins.

The book definitely deserves to be included in the serious marketing researchers library.

To come up to speed in a new position within an ASP, I bought three books on the subject. This one is the most clearly written of the three, and would be useful to anyone newly employed by an ASP, or a professional responsible for making decisions on using an ASP. The book clearly navigates the reader between the two extremes of most technology books - which are books that seem to be written for people who have never bought a computer, or books that are heavily laden with computer science/techy jargon. I was truly amazed at the content of the first chapter, which has given me a new perspective on the recent past and possible future of commerce - a real eye-opener.

Our MBA class is currently using your book in our Management Science subject and find it very relevant and easy to understand. Our only concern is that we are having difficulty finding your book in our local book stores. Also, can we request for a non-hard bound version, to make the book more affordable? Please let us know. I first obtained a copy of this book from a good friend. Although the title was interesting, I was too busy with my new "dot com" job to read it. However, it was not until the "dot com" company I work for started growing that I really appreciated this book. The book simply teaches you simple and to the point problem analysis and proving solving. Most importantly, unless the useless volumes sometimes produced by the big consulting firms, this book offers APPLIED problem solving analysis. After reading this book I was able to identify problems and express them in quantitative terms. This made a big difference when it comes to finding a solution to the problem. I'm recommending it to my entire organization.

This is first place to start when getting into S88 and batch control. The language is written so everybody in your organization can read it from the instrument tech, to the process engineer, to the plant manager.
The book helps clear up a lot the confusing nomenclature from the actual standard by using real world examples.

This is the ONLY book I found in the market, covering "canonical synthesis" as a database design methodology. The book also has a good chapter on communicating with databases in natural languages

This book provides an excellent introduction to programming ArcObjects with VB. I had very little programming experience, but found the book explained the subjects very well. The exercises were easy to follow and quickly allowed me to pick up most of the basic principles. The book is well laid out allowing you to work through the sections that you are most interested in whether that be customising the user interface, working with macro's or programming an application with Visual Basic. The mix of theory, examples and excerises is well thought out, giving a balanced book that is easy to read. I thought it was well worth the money for an introductory level, although it doesn't contain the details needed for more advanced programming.

This book is designed to be a resource for people who want to give serious thought to changing their schools in some fundamental fashion. To achieve this aim, it includes material of interest not only to administrators, teachers, and boards of education, but also to parents, community members, and many students. Leaders in both the private and public sectors realize that those who do "front-line" work need to be involved in making decisions about how their organization is run, and they also need to be capable of making good decisions. They need both information and opportunity. This book will help provide people in schools, education's "front line," with better information to use as they make decisions that will affect their schools.

There are way too many nursing books out there where the author is more interested in bloating their own ego than actually making a readable text. Linda Eby takes psych and makes it understandable. I used this book in nursing school and I actually started using it for concepts my other text books made way too hard. You won't be sorry you bought this book. Buy it.

I purchased this book for my mother who was recently diagnosed with "massive degenerative osteoarthritis of the spine". Her pain is chronic and she was feeling extremely distressed. When the book arrived she stated she read it from cover to cover in one day. Her whole demeanor improved about the disease because this book was so informative and well written.

My mother stated several times "this book is a must read for every person who has this disease."
