Winning the net game is an excellent book for small businesses trying to develop strategies on the Internet. What I found interesting is how she used a story of a family business in an effort to apply examples to the real world. The information relates well to anyone that may not have a clear understanding of how the Internet can enhance their business. Winning the net game in my opinion is a must read. This book is a "must read" for anyone thinking about starting a Web-based business. It is also good for those who currently have a Web-based business and want it to be more successful. Caroline Howard writes in a clear and concise style - and deftly covers such topics as choosing your domain name, competitive market analyses, developing an e-commerce business plan, e-tailing, peer-to-peer computing, the value chain, marketing and customer convenience. I highly recommend it!

This great little book is jam-packed with infomation! Obviously, Ms. Edwards knows the ins-and-outs of starting a small business, and she is very generous in sharing her knowledge. The pages are full of ideas and encouragement. The chapters about selling online alone are worth the price of this book. She also includes several pages of online resources for where to go for additional information, and even includes sample business forms. And her writing style makes you feel that she is with you every step of the way on your journey to success. This little book is a real "gem!"

This is a book for someone wanting to get a birds eye view of the business side of the Jewelry biz. Right off the bat she brings you in and leads you down the "yellow brick road". Not a flashy book cover wise, but super great direct, honest info. Her connections to the "fashion" industry, via her website are outstanding. I just received this book in the mail and can't put it down. The chapter on finding a sales rep is worth purchasing the book. Valuable information for all artists, not just jewelry makers. I hand dye silk fabric full time ([...] ) and am finding many of the principles in the book to be applicable towards many types of crafts. Highly recommended if you are a crafter and you are interested in selling your product.

As a consultant, I am forever selling my services or a recommended solution to someone. Do-it-yourselfers like me can use all the sales help we can get. "The 10 Immutable Laws" is a book that I can pick up, start anywhere, read a few pages and find something that helps. I've tried other sales books, but none seemed as complete or conveniently organized. For me, I prefer to read a little, digest, absorb and apply the contents, and then go back for more when I am ready and need it. It could be even better to look for pages that would support the day's activities and read those. In any event, reading straight through, cover to cover could be a bit taxing. Who knows? Using the book regularly, I may even turn into a sales professional.

10 Immutable Laws of Power Selling is easily one of the best sales related books I have read. The author succinctly addresses something on the minds of sales professionals today - how to survive in the 'new' environment. The book's ten laws are fantastic -- they're clear and concise and supported with real-life examples and case studies. What really separates this book from other sales-related books I've read, though, is the author's premise that there is a common thread that runs among power sellers -- they are leaders. By explaining what sales leaders do and know, the author gives readers a goal to strive towards--the goal of becoming a sales leader. To me, the book was downright inspiring. After I read it, I couldn't wait to try out the ten laws. Highly recommended reading!

If your job is selling then you have to know how to sell no matter what the economy. You have to understand demand for your product and how it adds value to a customer. Although the principles apply to all forms of selling including department store selling, the focus of the book is really on those who sell larger value products where there may be an extended sales cycle. It seems that there are always a few real sales stars with any endeavor. What makes this small percent successful at selling when none around them seem to be able to sell anything? Author James DeSena examines this and has found that there are ten laws that a sales person must understand and use if they want to be one of these power sellers.

These ten immutable laws are 1) create high value, 2) decide on your market, 3) develop customer expertise in your selected market, 4) build relationships for repeat business, 5) start with a leader's perspective, 6) lead from within, 7) make it a team effort, 8) build lasting success, 9) drive toward exceptional results, and 10) manage multiple customer priorities. Each of these laws is given its own chapter to fully develop what the law means and how to apply it in the real world. Mr. DeSena also provides many useful examples with stories from companies such as American Express and Honeywell.

Although there is nothing really new in the book it does represent a summation of the best practices in customer-centric sales theory. "The 10 Immutable Laws of Power Selling" is a recommended read for anyone who wants an understanding of the customer-centric approach to selling and how it provides long-term success as a sales person.

I read Litak's first Christmas book, about his experiences as a Small Town Santa; it was smooth and gentle, but with a real catcher at the end.It was a delight to read, yet it really made you think.

I expected 101 Questions to be similar; the only similarity turned out to be Santa Claus.

This was a smooth and quick read, loaded with humor, but also loaded with insight. That insight and humor make it my choice for that gift for the "hard-to-buy-for" on my list.

My younger brother (age 10) really loved this book, and I (age 15) got a kick out of it as well. It includes the answers to all the questions that anybody has ever asked or idly wondered about Santa Claus.

Some questions are quite general, and I'm sure every reader thought about them as a kid, for instance, "How can the reindeer fly?" Others are quite specific: "What does Santa eat?"

What makes this book special is that it puts both children and adults in the Christmas spirit: Although the answers to the 101 questions are filled with jokes, they make it seem that Santa really does exist, and gives explanations why. The answers will be too charming to make anybody but a Grinch want to rebut them.

Your favorite answer will most certainly be the one to question #101: It is a short, poignant essay on the nature of Santa. It points out that he will exist as long as children keep on believing and looking forward to his visits.

Many answers are funny others make one stop and really think about it. Good book for a gift for all ages I loved the answer to "Do elves have to go to school?"

At a mere 323 pages, I was eager for an even more in-depth study of the blazing hot market for South Asian snow-removal technology. Surely there's more to explore. For example, why not include the riding variety? We can only hope that will come in volume 2!

That said, after reading it, I'm seriously considering starting a Mumbai-based snow-thrower franchise. I think snowmobiles and muk-luks and anoraks (using traditional Indian fabrics, of course) are also going to be part of the business.

This six-year outlook may seem at first to be a juicy treat for only those investing in the snow-filled regions of the Indian subcontinent. However, I have found it of lasting value in the fluff and blow business across the Americas as well. Non-riding dual-stage attachment-free snow blower consumers are a tight bunch of enthusiasts and businesses, and groups in the Americas keep an eye on Asia to hint at trends for next year's hot items. The projected drop in diesel kilohp snow blowers in urban Kandahar starting in 2009 is sure to have repercussions through 2011 in the Alps and Andes regions. Luckily, consumers aren't tapped into these high-quality niche datafeeds, or the bottom would drop right out of our futures. A must-have.

I am an ever-procrastinating Christmas shopper. But this year, I need not wait any longer. This book will make THE perfect stocking stuffer for EVERYBODY on my list!

I've recently said to my wife, "It seems like all people talk about anymore is the latent need for improved snow management in the southern hemisphere. You can't walk into a coffee shop, a barber shop, a grocery store nowadays without overhearing somebody gabbing about this issue!"

I am ordering a dozen. At only $495, I can't imagine they'll be able to keep these things on the shelves! Who knows, I may even e-bay a couple of them down the road to pay for my children's college educations. Thank you, Phil Parker.

After listening to this series and applying what I've learned I have a few reasons why master copywriter and business consultant Drew Eric Whitman selected the title.

Maybe it relates to the fact that I would have paid $50,000 to him and the 10 other experts that have literally super-charged my business and increased profits. And at that price, it would have been a steal.

Or maybe the $50,000 references what average business owners can add to their annual profits after listening. I know in my case, $50,000 would be a low estimate for the increase in business I expect over the course of the next year as a direct result of listening to this course.

Whatever the reasoning behind the title, in my opinion this is material that every person running or thinking of starting a business should own. It delivers essential business and marketing information (some of which I've never heard before but works almost like magic), and it spoon feeds it to you in such a way that you not only completely understand it, but you're excited and can't wait to start applying it to your business immediately.

I've had many nights where I've only grabbed a few eyefuls of sleep since owning this. But I want to thank Drew Eric for giving me the information and motivation to get in and do something that's responsible for literally putting more money in my pocket while making it fun.

I confess to buying too many business tapes. I am also too often disappointed by the quality of the production as well the content.

THESE tapes, however, are fantastic. The speakers are all interesting to listen to - not boring. No fluff. Recorded in a studio, so you can ALWAYS hear the speakers. The topics will be valuable to any small to medium size busines owner or marketing executive who wants to expand and grow their business.

You may have heard SOME of this material before, but you haven't heard ALL of it -- and it's all in one powerful package.

IMHO, it's worth a listen -- again and again.

Nothing puts a point across better than a story. And hardly anybody tells a more meaningful and uproarious story than Seth Godin. Learning can be a whale of a lot of fun, but not many authors seem to care much about that. Seth sure cares. That's why I felt so good as i was absorbing many of the life lessons that I learned in the book.

Readers should thank Seth for getting to the point, cutting to the chase, writing on the bottom line and saving us time. I've read 500-page books that were less meaty. Then again, everything around is less meaty than 99 cows.

99 Cows is a super accompaniment to Seth Godin's Purple Cow, a manifesto for the remarkable. Although it's not really a "workbook" in the traditional sense of the word, it will give you more ideas on harnessing the power of purple after you read about the reasons why you should in Purple Cow.

It didn't surprise me to find that many of the companies, products and Online services that I consider cool are purple cows, since I would consider myself a sometime innovator, usual early adopter and constant "sneezer," (you might say I was purple when purple wasn't cool ;^)

The 99 cows in this book are great examples of the kinds of ideas that make people like me take notice of you and your company, buy your products or use your services, and, most important, become the kind of raving fans that tell others about you. Word of mouth is the most powerful marketing there is. As usual, Seth Godin provides great examples of its power in action.

Having been an advertising executive of one of the largest companies in the world, I was fascinated by this book.
The Cover Design itself is a billboard that draws attention.
You buy the book and then can license the TM's inside.
I would recommend it to all in the ad business and also to
university professors who teach communication skills.
