The model is simple and yet powerful. I found myself doing a self-examination and applying it at home with my children. It will take some time to master the techniques and I'm optimistic it will greatly assist us with future corporate changes.
It's my intention to put together a training program for the entire company as it will help everyone better face business and personal change.

Good practical tipsReview Date: 2002-03-16
This book is relatively brief (125 pages, you can read it on an airplane flight.) Despite its length, it packs a ton of wisdom, suggestions, tips and logic into its contents. Read this book you'll understand the employee's true perspective, the real needs and how to provide for them without breaking the bank. I especially like the ideas of how a small company can provide the same benefits as huge corporations. (There are also lots of other ways that a small company can compete with the giants for the very best employees.)
Like I said, this short book is tall on content. It is also a lot of fun to read. You'll enjoy Turner's wit and attitude; he really drives his points home.
This is a cracker-jack business book. You'll pick up a lot of insight for your ten bucks.

My niece Chloe is a sophomore at Beaumont University near Dallas and wants to be a teacher. She had this book with her this summer while she worked on our farm. She kept talking about it continuously and praising it. So finally I borrowed it from her and started to read it. Only got about 1/3 through though because it bored me . . . I like raising crops and chickens not teaching. But the book does what is claims and shows a way of "initiating, conducting and measuring the effectiveness of an action learning process" (quoted from the editorial review that).
My only real complaint other than the boring subject matter (not its fault) is that it continuously mispells common words such as "center" as "centre" and color as "colour." This is very distracting and implies that the author (Annie Broodbark) are ignorant.
She should have spent a few bucks on a proof-reader or used spell-check!
