Learn How to Unveil the Mysteries Surrounding ERPReview Date: 2001-07-19
One of the most complete and sensible guides I've readReview Date: 2001-05-21
Chapters 4 through 8 cover the implemention details, beginning with life cycles and sequences, addressing project teams and transition strategies, and the nuts and bolts considerations of data conversion, prototyping and testing. The information in these chapters is a good basis for an implementation work breakdown structure.
I liked the chapters on organizational change management and consultants, which are critical success factors for implementing an ERP system. I also thought that the chapter on project planning sessions was a highlight of this book and something that anyone who is involved in managing the implementation needs to carefully read.
The remainder of the book covers developing a request for proposal and evaluating vendor responses, total quality management, ROI and other factors that are extremely important to ERP (or any system) implementation project.
Some of the things that make this book invaluable include: (1) clear writing and innovative use of graphics to display relationships, comparisons and workflow; (2) the fact that each chapter can stand alone as a focused and complete discussion of the topic covered, and (3) the common sense approach taken by the author.
I strongly recommend that this book be augmented by Scorecard System For World Class Enterprise Resource Management by the same author. These two books combined with provide you with all of the information you need to select and successfully implement an ERP system that fully meets your requirements.
A great book for who are interested in ERPReview Date: 2002-02-09
I wish if i can give this book 100 stars. Amazing Book.....Review Date: 2001-07-31
Implementation details are cover in chapters 4 to 8, starting with life cycle, building your project team, prototype and testing and other important implementation issues. I think this is the best book ever written about ERP, don't waste your time searching for other books. You will find everything related to the ERP in "ERP: A-Z Implementer's Guide For Success"

Selecting Warehouse SoftwareReview Date: 2008-01-21
Great overview of WMSReview Date: 2006-02-26
Overall, this book is a great educational tool. It is well worth the money for any organization looking to embark on a WMS project or wanting to improve an existing implementation.
An Enthusiastic Endorsement for Phil!!!Review Date: 2007-10-01
From here I was able to move, and more competently frame the requirements for our own organizational needs. The author approached this written work with a sensitivity of the immense challenge the average person would face when taking on the warehouse universe and its technical requirements, by him demonstrating a simplistic and readable way of presenting the invaluable information contained within the work. The section identifying WMS software vendors and ERP supply chain software providers is simply priceless, and worth the cost of the book all by itself. I have since purchased more of the series and can now intelligently approach "applying the right software solution" with added confidence.
First step in your WMS project.Review Date: 2004-09-27
Yes, it may seem a little pricey, but in the context of the overall costs associated with a WMS project, it's a minuscule price to pay to increase your chance of getting it right.

The Ultimate Bible for Financial Configuration and Design.Review Date: 2008-07-18
A deliberation of competence and mastery in the field of SAP ERP Financials. I would say this book SAP ERP Financials: Configuration and Design by Naeem Arif and Tauseef Sheikh Muhammad is the ultimate and completely educational - it guides you, step-by-step through the process of complete implementation and integration of the Financial modules in SAP ERP and in particular ECC 6.0. A wonderful work by the duo for the beginners and the consultants who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge in SAP ERP Financials.

Best book out to start learning SAP SD moduleReview Date: 2008-07-08
A treasure chest of SAP Sales and Distribution KnowledgeReview Date: 2008-04-16
There is an appendix of nearly every transaction code related to SD, as well as in depth steps on how to configure the backbone of SD in SAP, that is pricing, sales documents, Basic functions etc. This book also has brief information on peripheral integration topics such as EDI and user exits in SAP SD.
This book is far better than his previous best seller, with better print and screenshots, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a book explaining how to configure SAP SD, and to advanced users of the SD module.

The Arts & Crafts Studio of Dirk Van Erp =Dorothy LamoreuxReview Date: 2003-03-24
It has been estimated that there are less than two thousand extant Van Erp pieces in the world today. I feel that a reading of Dorothy Lamoreux's excellent book will make we happy owners - and the rest - appreciate the passion that went into their creation.
Buy this book. STEAL this book. Read it, surely.

Excellent ResourceReview Date: 2008-02-09
Brian Carroll's 2nd edition of "Lean Performance ERP Project Management - Implementing the Virtual Lean Enterprise" provides management and operations practitioners with an excellent guide and reference as to how these two powerful systems and tools can be combined to achieve the productivity gains that companies are seeking. The book includes a history and evolution of lean manufacturing and an overview of lean principles and tools. Included also is a step-by-step guide for the project manager to apply these lean principles and practices while at the same time getting the full benefit of the power of an ERP system.
I can tell you from personal experience that these tools work. Having used Brian's methodology within my own organization we were able to achieve significant improvements in business processes and achieve our performance improvement goals of reduced cost, reduced cycle time, improved delivery performance, and the elimination of defects. I know that this book can also be a great resource for you company's improvement projects.

The simple, concise, easy-to-understand way in which the author, Travis Anderegg, presents the information slowly `strips' away the layers of mystery and misunderstanding that have often been associated with ERP projects - small or large. Not only does a reader gain insight into the history of ERP but also is introduced to definitions and terminology associated with Enterprise Resource Planning.
It is a known fact that approximately 80% of all ERP projects fail. Many times, companies will blame the vendor (they misled us), the software (it does not fit our business), the consultant (they should have told us not to pick this package), etc. Often times, no one was `truly' at fault; it is a matter of not understanding how to plan, select, implement, maintain, and take ownership of an ERP system. This book covers all these areas from the initial decision to consider a company's ERP software strategy through planning, evaluation, decision, negotiation, implementation, and change management. Various critical success factors are identified throughout the chapters.
It also provides diagrams, charts, and questions to aid the reader in `gleaning' the pertinent points from the chapters. The book also points out the `pitfalls' and how to avoid making costly mistakes. The concepts presented in this book can be applied not only to ERP but also to other major IT procurements, such as HR/PR systems, CRM, and DPM. This book can also prepare individuals to pass the CIERP examination and be recognized as CIERP (certified implementer of enterprise resource planning) certified.
As the book shows ERP is very much a people system - not just software. The more educated people are, in regards to ERP, the more likely that a company will be successful. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone who is or will be involved with Enterprise Resource Planning:
· Business executives, senior decision makers, IT/IS managers, Department managers, and Project managers who are or will be in the market for an ERP solution
· Consultants, industry analysts, software vendors, and their staff who are in some way connected with the sales of ERP, as it provides insight into the buying cycle and the "contortions" that companies go through when purchasing this type of technology
· College and University level professors or students in Marketing, Information Systems/Technology and Project Management
This book is filled with all the knowledge anyone would need for preparing and successfully implementing Enterprise Resource Planning.
