Wonderful! A Must Have!Review Date: 2008-08-19
My only unhappiness comes from the high price tag. I think $14.95 is about what it should be. But It is really a one of a kind helper. The size is great for taking along to the store with you also.
great reference!Review Date: 2008-07-16
The only thing I am not happy with is the organization. It is easy to use. I just would have organized it differently. For example, instead of listing all of the Tylenol products together it is broken down by sleeping aids (for Tylenol PM) and cough/congestion section (for those Tylenol products), etc... I also feel like there are products missing that are gluten free, so I do not completely rely on this book. One example is Starbucks. Certain Starbucks products are gluten free but this book makes no mention of them in the coffee section.
Best Gluten Free product reference I've used!Review Date: 2008-05-15

Shop for happiness, discover wisdomReview Date: 2004-12-11
The heart of this mystery is about finding happiness. As the shopper works his way through the odd stores on each level of this surreal five-level mall he begins to understand that happiness isn't something we stumble upon, it's something we create by recognizing the five ingredients of happiness-each one symbolized by a floor of the mall.
All the clues are there but solving the riddle requires the shopper to give it some thought - not just daydreaming thought, but focused, puzzle-solving thought. On the top floor the shopper meets a plucky young woman artist and a sagacious old man and together in a provocative dialogue they grapple with the hard questions of life: why so many people only make it to the third or fourth floor of the happiness pyramid and why so many take the stairs when there are elevators. Carson, in his subtle symbolism, has perceptively hidden the elevators in the back of bookstores. Excellent books like this help lift us to the apex of happiness without having to keep taking the stairs in life.

Get Stuffed, Italian-StyleReview Date: 2001-11-12
His subject is the Italian food of New York City, which means--with just a few exceptions--the best in this country, even this hemisphere (if you've ever tried Argentine or Chilean Italian cooking, you know what I mean). He divides New York City, wisely into several areas for the reader's convenience. First there is Manhattan, which is subdivided into neighborhoods also, thus putting the best and the most on display, conveniently formatted so it's easy to find out opening hours and days and time, which credit cards are or are not accepted, and so on. Information at your fingertips is the rule here. Then you come to the meat of each review, which ain't chopped liver. No snappy one-liners here, no "witty" and quick dismissals: the author actually discusses each establishment at a length that convinces you he's seriously studied it. Robertiello does have a sense of humor--he just doesn't use cheap laughs as a cover for shallowness.
From Manhattan he goes on to Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx, all of which have jewels that are missed by diners--and critics--who are afraid to cross the river. The only borough he's missed, it seems, is Staten Island, where there is a Sicilian vasteddi shack he needs to know about.
Restaurants
are the main dish in this guide but far from the only one. There are also bakeries (some for pastry, some for bread), cafes,
pizzerias, snackeries, food stores, butcher shops and joints. (A joint is a raffish sort of place whose charm usually escapes
your friends, who think it's a dump.) He rates some on their overall cooking and others on the basis of specialties, which
is important to folks who are, for example, eternally searching for the Best Pizza. He even has a 'best restaurant with music.'
Such a place is normally to be shunned but the wordly-wise Robertiello knows full well that it can be a life-saver when you
need to treat the in-laws to a memorable evening while ignoring them at the same time. A Top Ten list of Italian restaurants
is provided but hardly necessary because the level of Italian food in the city is quite high. But his short courses on wine,
pasta, olive oil and cheese will be of great help to neophytes.
Civilized men can disagree, and I have to quibble over his estimates (too high) of Bruno Ravioli and Manganaro's Food. Maybe that's because I make ravioli myself and life almost nextdoor to Manganaro's. Neither am I convinced that coal cooks pizza better than wood. Those sre small matters: This book is the real deal.

Children learn by example & watching youReview Date: 2008-03-24
This board book is about a young boy and how he is aware of that even he can do things that can help save his world one bag at a time. The book talks about how using and bringing your own shopping bag you are saving trees and reduce plastic bags in our dumps. The book comes with a very cute Tyvek reusable shopping bag that says I Love Earth by using the letter I , a red child's colored heart and globe just like the one shown on the cover.
Our family is trying to be more aware and have been recycling bottles, cans, using our own shopping bags and it's so cute to hear my daughter say " We're going to take than home and recycle it,.... right mom!" It's something we never thought about growing up, but now need to think about how we can make our world and homes "greener" and more environmentally friendlier not just for our children but for their children as well.
