It's a shame the revised edition wasn't updated. Still, highly useful.
As an aside, it's highly unlikely that the comment above attributed to McIver is true. McIver comes across as one who _always_ belived in evolution (see, for example, his articles in "Creation/Evolution" and "Skeptic") ... methinks I smell a hoax.

Excellent way to brush up on the bookReview Date: 2007-02-23
EVERYBODY should read this book.Review Date: 2007-01-10
The author recounts stories from IDEO, to give examples for the ideas presented. I found myself wanting a job at IDEO after reading only a quarter of the book.
The lessons that can be learned from this book extend beyond business analysis. A CEO, manager, teacher, priest, parent or any type of leader will be able to gain insight and make positive changes in their organizations using the ideas presented. If you're in any type of leadership role, READ THIS BOOK! If you're not, buy it for your boss - You'll benefit from it too!

Brings You to the Production Floor LiterallyReview Date: 2008-08-11
Prior to reading this book, I thought all the creatures in Alien vs. Predator (AVP) were computer generated, but somehow they look too real to be products of 3D models. After reading the book, I have more respect for the people in the field of creating these creatures. They are good, very good.
You'll read about how the movie was conceived. There are numerous biography on the artists involved and the two founders of ADI.
Every single page of the book is filled with photos and captions detailing the process of creating the characters and bringing them to life on the big screen. It starts on the drawing board where sketches were done, the creature was then modeled into clay, photographed and made into mold, painted for textures and goes onto the set.
A lot of effort was put in the making of this book. You can tell just by the incredible number of photos taken and put onto the pages.
If you're a fan of AVP, this should be in your collection.

A Candid & Relevant ViewReview Date: 2007-11-03
While examining other issues within the framework of Baptist theology, all issues of difference among Baptists devolve to the fundamental principles of whether the Bible addresses those issues directly or indirectly; and can we trust what it says. If it is truly the word of God and has been passed through history without error, as Baptists have historically believed, then all matters of life and practice must ultimately be ruled by the Biblical view.
Theirs is a powerful call back to the key, first issue - the first presuppositional commitment - Baptists and all true Christians must finally decide; that is, what and who their authority will be. This is also a glimpse into the seminal thought processes of Dr. Thomas J. Nettles as he, with others in the Southern Baptist and Reformed Baptist community, developed a strategy to return modern-day Southern Baptists to their historical theological roots in the doctrines of grace, or Calvinism. That strategy has been to pray, to open the Bible to many, to tell the truth about the historic faith regardless of personal cost, and to teach all who would listen, all who have ears to hear.
(That in itself is an incredible story of a significant level of success, from all outward appearances at least, in returning a denomination to doctrinal soundness. Though none would claim that it has been completely successful in returning the entirety of the denomination to doctrinal purity, the gradually growing return to the faith of their Baptist and Reformed fathers has been a fascinating display of the power of God in working through his people. Many - myself included - chose to leave the Southern Baptist Convention, convinced history has demonstrated clearly that denominations on a downgrade never recover; and yet there are signs that the Southern Baptist return to historic Christianity - historic Baptist beliefs - is taking place.)
Every Baptist should make this part of their library; every pastor should read this with understanding and decide which side they are on. Every church should use this book to check their own position and recall a cornerstone of the Protestant Reformation: 'Sola Scriptura' (Scripture alone).

A Must Read for All Southern Baptist PastorsReview Date: 1999-05-01
If you don't understand why there are so many opinions and disagreements among Southern Baptists today then read this book and your eyes will be opened and your mind will be stretched as you follow the history of Baptists and their view of the Bible from the 1600's to the present day.

Following the stock market crash of 1929 a mother wearing a fur coat was not commonplace. The hats do grab your attention - - perhaps they were designed to draw eyes away from any shabbiness in shoes or dress? My own wardrobe during those years is remembered as a blur of nondescript cotton print dresses, and that was long before no-iron fabrics were invented. Those were the days when the father's shirts were sent out for pressing. They were returned, folded around cardboard inserts that the children eagerly grabbed for their drawing projects - - which might include original paper doll designs!
Some will purchase this *American Family of the 1930s* - - possibly to leave it uncut for a collection. Fewer children receive paper dolls as gifts now, but when they do they probably get busy drawing & coloring clothes that fit the mod taste of most girls nowadays. Reviewer mcHAIKU enjoys Tierney's dolls as historical statements even though these fashions do not help grandchildren to 'envision' her growing-up years.
