I gave it as a gift to someone whose husband was beginning dialysis. She reported back that it was very informative and useful.

My father is on a new renal diet. He just started going to dialysis three times a week. This book helped us cope with the sudden demands of a renal diet and really helped calm our fears. Cooking for a dialysis patient isn't nearly as complicated and daunting as we thought. Highly recommended!

This book is basically a list of foods with the nutritional content important to renal patients. As such it is a good guide when preparing a meal. It should be noted that this IS NOT a cookbook. It has no recipes in it.

My husband began dialysis over a year ago and it's been a constant search to find useful information--finally found it. This book is an absolute essential tool for those who are serious about dealing with their problem. It is not to be confused with a cookbook but is a wealth of information on almost all foods. Not much missing. Worth it's weight in gold to us. As a side note--the staff at his center were unaware of it and are now looking in to purchasing a number of them!!!

Kathy has a delightful way of writing that engages the reader and makes everything she writes easy to understand. Her mother had Alzheimer's disease and Kathy cared for her. She did so with compassion and good humor. Her writing reflects this positive outlook on working with people who have dementia. A must read for families and health care professionals who are caring for someone with memory impairment.

I love this book. I misplaced it and nearly went crazy trying to find it!
The recipies are simple and healthy. Alot of them use canned tomatoes, which is good and there is a make ahead section. I have enjoyed every recipie, and some I have made more than once. I recommend it and won't be offering mine up for sale!!
