I expected to find a book filled with questions and possible responses, and the book does have a few dynamite questions to ask, but for the most part this is about much more than just interview questions. This covers the full job search from preparation to presentation to post interview follow up. You'll find lots of ideas that are easy to overlook and that just could be the extra touch you need to set you apart.

A great buy - very worthwhile!

Finally, a career book that delivers on its "no nonsense" promise, and then some. This is truly among the very best I've found. Concise and to the point, without all the hocus-pocus stuff that just devours time, the authors get right down to business and actually show you how to build a quality resume. How refreshing! I've read a lot of resume & career advice books, and they're all pretty much full of great philosophy ("do what you love; find your true calling" type stuff) but they're not very helpful when it comes to actually getting a real job. If the goal is to write yourself a resume that really expresses what you can do for an employer, in your own words, then this one's for you. (And there are some great sample resumes, too...)
Thanks to the authors for finally getting it right! I can only assume their No Nonsense Cover Letters book is equally excellent...

I find this book by Blanpain very useful for my ongoing research. It touches on HRM, labour relations and labour law. These three topics he fused into one. The language is very clear and very easy to read and understand. I recommend it for every student and researcher interested in this area of study.

Few understand ERISA and non-qualified deferred compensation plans as well as Attorney McNeil. Even fewer, could explain the concepts as clearly as he can. This is one of several very will written books by Attorney McNeil.

Whether or not you agree, this is a powerful arguement

This is by far the most in depth and comprehensive arguement for Affirmative Action. Edley manages to write about this worn-thin issue with a new and interesting angle. Factually compelling as well. This is a must read for anybody at all interested in the contreversies of race-politics.

I happen to be part of one of the families discussed in this book. I found it to be quite nice. I wasn't mentioned in the book but my mother, grandma, granpa etc. was. I think Geta did a fabulous job in making this book a success! It took a lot of time to archive this information about my family, and through this book, I am able to know where my ancestors came from and pass the book on to my children in the years to come. thank You.

Sincerely, Sommer Hayes

Short on plot, but long on ideas
Helpful Votes: 16 out of 16 total.

Pompey Casmilus is a secretary living in London in the 1930's. In this book, she describes her thoughts about love, work, friendship and the Germans, amongst other things. If you're looking for a plot this isn't the book for you, but if you want emotional honesty and a startlingly original (and up to date) viewpoint, then go ahead and read it. Don't let the book's surreal style put you off - there's plenty of thought-provoking material in there.
