I have learned Italian at school with the book and I have used this cassette tape to help me with pronunciation and to get me used to real Italian speaking. This is the greatest book on Italian language I have come up to so far, and this cassette tape, I believe you wouldn't regret buying this ever. Now that I am finished with my first semester of Italian, this is helping me all the more for keeping me maintaining what I have learned!

4 months prior to my arrival in Tanzania for a 2 year volunteer stint I began to use the Teach Yourself book. In that time I gained a good grasp of the grammar of the language.
The book with the dictionary were invaluable; I didn't use the tape much but no doubt it would be helpful to fulfill what to me are the most difficult parts of learning Swahili: listening and speaking (and being understood).
Now I am using Peter Wilson's Simplified Swahili quite happily - I gained a good foundation of understanding how to create sentences from Teach Yourself and Wilson's Simplified is giving more detail.
These 2 resources are great if you're looking at understanding the grammar and learning vocabulary.

I really like this program and wouldn't change a thing. The "audio flashcard" format really works for me, and addresses the fundamental difficulty of learning any language: gaining critical mass of vocabulary. Over the past three months I have fairly well memorized the 1500 words and phrases of level one, and will soon start level II. Mostly this has been on my commute. Two disclaimers: this is an invaluable supplement to some other course-- it will not teach you how to make a sentence in Swedish. The other is that there is no effort to make this entertaining, so those that expect an enging story or song might be dissappointed. Me, I find anything that makes such efficient use of my time enjoyable, and I am grateful for the help the course has been.

A delightful Christmas story full of humor, suspense, and the happy ending that all Christmas stories deserve. For those of all ages to enjoy. Children can relate to Sydney whose over abundance of energy and clumsiness cause problems and how Santa helps the kangaroo. In the same category as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, this book is a must for children and those young at heart. Deserves five star status and a place on your book shelf.

Jo Condrill has a way of cutting to the chase. She gets directly to the point and provides practical and sound advice. Condrill's book offers simple instructions that are guaranteed to improve your circumstances. I have also benefitted from other books written by Condrill and look forward to reading future publications.

This book comes with cassette tapes that get you actually speaking German (Deutsch). I am an American who has lived in Germany for over a year now. This is the best of its kind, I think it was made in Britian. I want to order it for Mother's Day for Mom, but it seems to take 4-6 weeks to get it, so I will probably send her my copy instead. She is coming to visit for a week in August. This cassette and book set puts the words that you need to travel well in Germany right into your mouth, in conversational context. I am familiar with the excellent (German) in a Week series published in 1989-1993 or so, and this is even a cut above that. This is not a "Ja" = "Yes" tape, it is first learning in context, then "something in German," now how do you respond? They give you time to try, and then provide a good answer. Truly, this earns its name: "Talk German."

I've taken language courses in high school and college, and I hated them all. This program made it fun for me to learn some basic vocabulary. Honestly, it felt more like a game than an exercise. The points system encourages anyone with a competitive spirit to out-perform anyone else in their lessons.

Overall, I think that they did a decent job of putting this language program together. However, I would have liked it if they would have put in a section that covered the alphabet.

First, I'd like to let everyone know that this is a CD Rom ONLY! There is no text or workbook to follow along with. When I had ordered mine, I thought that it was a text and CD Rom, so there was disatisfaction upon opening the box. I liked the ease of operation and the basic phrases and words that were presented. My whole family plays with the CD, and we have already begun to use some of the words in the home. The games are fun and make the learning more interactive and fast.

LIKE ALL TEACH YOURSELF BOOKS, THIS IS A GREAT BOOK, JUST LIKE GERMAN EXTRA, BUT NEWER, JUST MAKE SURE TO BUY IT WITH THE CD'S, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
