I just finally got through the plethora of data in this book. It might not give you all of the after mission details that we got after each mission, but it tells you all of the basics of Voyager, Pioneer, Cassini, Galileo et al. You could write an outer solar system space mission from this book. The double sided DVD as usual is brilliant, there are some amazing videos of each mission. Described by the people who lead the teams, you get the feeling of excitement that these people generate from being the first to do something extraordinary. If you are a space enthusiast you cannot afford to be without this book.
Well done once again Apogee Books

Learn Flash Today, The Deke McClelland Way
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2001-06-11
This may be one of the best, and no doubt the most useful, books I have ever read. When I first ordered this book I envisioned myself learning how to make stickmen wave, make poorly drawn cartoon dogs wag their tales or a small car bobble along a highway. I could not have been more wrong. I never would have thought that in just a few short months I would become an advanced Macromedia Flash designer. From making short action cartoons, to in-depth site intros for my friends, I feel there is no limit on what I can achieve.

The book starts off slow, making it very easy to pick up, even for the most basic of users. The pace soon quickens as you learn the ins and outs of flash programming. At no point while reading this book did I feel overwhelmed or that the book was moving to fast. Even through the more complicated sections I felt comfortable.

I would recommend this book to anybody looking to get into Flash programming, regardless of skill or ability. This book gets a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. Keep up the good work Deke McClelland, and keep supplying us with quality entertainment Amazon. Thank you.

Outstanding Practitioner's Guide
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2002-02-21
This is one of the nmost readable treatments of the subect of EPSS I've come across. Designed as a practitioner's guide, it also provides an introduction for business executives and decision-makers to orient them to what EPSS can, and cannot be expected to accomplish.

All fundamental technologies of EPSS are describe in plain English, followed by implications for instructional designers and performance technologists who will be defining functionality, information architecture, navigational and interface designs and assessment of applications. Sample code and design templates, along with over 3-dozen planning and implementation job-aids, and a side-by-side comparison of development tools and technologies make this an invaluable addition to one's library.

Improve your DVD.
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2007-01-11
This is a clearly written book for producers of DVD's with ideas of how to tighten up your workflow; how the intended output dictates choices. I wanted help with navigating the material on a DVD. DVD Studio 4 makes this easier than version 3 and this manual clears up some issues as well. Book clarifies some procedures that the manual covers not as clearly.

MovieMaker Magazine - Issue No. 63, Volume 13, 2006
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2006-07-26
Serving as proof that even the most inauspicious of beginnings, i.e. the dreaded "viral video," can lead to great success (author Graham Robertson co-wrote and directed the hugely popular online spoof Superfriends Wassup!), Robertson's Desktop Cinema: Feature Filmmaking on a Home Computer is exactly the kind of user-friendly moviemaking guide that most directors strive to write (and read), yet rarely do.
The book is a pleasure to read and packed with all sorts of useful information (you never notice just how much you've actually learned until you've moved on to the next chapter).
Written from the perspective of someone who knows what it's like to struggle as an independent moviemaker, it's therefore chock-full of do-it-yourself tips and a handy CD-ROM that includes the first 17 minutes of Robertson's all-digital, sci-fi feature, Able Edwards, as well as storyboard templates and other forms that will definitely come in handy in your own moviemaking endeavors.

The most comprehensive book I've written on multimedia!
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 1995-10-02
Hi, I wrote The Desktop Multimedia Bible! A special "howdy" to my regular readers at NewMedia magazine. I wrote this book for people who want to understand the fundamentals of multimedia. It is not specific to platforms of products, because they're always changing. My goal is to communicate the background knowledge so that you can interpret the new stuff as it happens. It breaks the subject matter into sections on Graphics, Audio, Video, Computers, & Interactive Technology. Each section has three chapters covering Technology, Tools, and Techniques. 635 pages in all. If you are more interested in how to think about multimedia from a business standpoint, check out Multimedia for Decision Makers (Addison-Wesley). If you're a Windows user and want a to learn about the coolest software and test drive them on a CD-ROM, check out Multimedia Studio for Windows (Random House). Enjoy! Jeff Burger

A must-have if you do any OS/2 multimedia programming
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 1997-11-25
From the developers of MMPM/2 itself, this book covers all sorts of information that you just can't get anywhere else. If you're doing any sort of OS/2 multimedia programming, even if you think you know what you're doing, you really should have this book. The one drawback is that it doesn't cover any new features in OS/2 Warp 4 like DART and the audio mixer API's.
