No matter what you think about differential equations, you just got to have that book. The software that comes with it, is dynamite, and fully adds to Mathematica's Dsolve. Fact is, after you read the book you may understand what Ordinary Differential Equations are all about. "By the way there is nothing ordinary about Differential equations". These guys really know their stuff. Even better they can really explain it well. The book reads like someone is constantly talking to you or guiding you. The presentation is great. My only problem is that I finally understood the stuff. [ A pleasant one at that] The other fascinating thing about the book is the historical backgound of the mathematicians who contibuted to the discovery of DEs. This makes the book so enjoyable. Read this book and your girlfriend/boygriend will think you are a true inspired genius. However make it fast. They are bound to find out for themselves. This book will be true classic. BTW, you c! ould also look up another great book on DE. Authors are Blanchard, Devaney and Hall. Published by Brooks/Cole. These two books are all you should ever need.

Really good, if not best. It is the resource text as an example for textbooks for the years to come. You learn to work out analytically first and then computing and numerically. The Mathematica notebook format of the acompaning CD-Rom is not only containing all the 900 pages of the book and it's graphycs but also animations and the solutions to exercises and Mathematica exercises. I would have liked that my first ODE textbook would have been like that one. Fantastic!

I am very pleased with this book. It's small and easy to transport, yet it has soooo much great information. The color photos throughout are large and clear, and the troubleshooting chapter alone is actually worth the price of the book (especially when you consider that it comes with two free audiobook dowloads). Great value and very useful!

Comprehensive and helpful information for Mac and PC users make this a great gift or buy. It is literally a field guide and is smaller then a regular book so you can take it with you to learn as you go.

When I was talked into reading this, my hopes were not too high seeing that there were no Japanese names in the credits, however disappointment was not the case. It looks like Samuel Bohon actually puts his heart and soul into drawing these characters and bringing the story to life. I would not be suprised if one day this manga comes to the screen in the form of a series, the story is original and well executed. I don't want to spoil too much, but the dragons are awesome and the character depth is better than most modern comics. Anyhow, I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking for something new and original.
My first manga..and a great one at that!

I read this the day it came out, was anticipating it's realease for a while...I was pleased with the artwork, gorgeous ink work! The story starts off without any hesitation, and you go right into the depth of the main character, Ita. I at first got lost on certain portions of the story, but going over it one more time actually helped me better understand it. This book is well worth getting, especially if your into samurai/ninja assassins, dragons, and of course butt-kicking women. You should totally pick it up, you want regret it!

I love this book. Watching it be made and put together via updates by Tim on his website (http://www.cad-comic.com) was amazing! The book has the first 150 comics from the archive. Now, I know you're thinking, why not just read the archives for free? Well, you could do that, but the extra content is absolutely worth it. Tim put commentary on every page, not just from him, but from the characters (Ethan, Lucas, Chef Brian, Lilah, Ted, Scott, etc...). He also included an original story that is endlessly amusing and fun. The comic itself is a gaming comic, but it also is just plain funny. I'm not a hardcore gamer and I find it amusing.
I highly recommend this book to any CAD fan or anyone who just wants to get into webcomics.

Ctrl Alt Del is a wonderful comic, I should know, I've been reading since the beginning and I know Tim Buckley, I worked with him, I reviewed games and movies for the site. However the peculiar thing about this page is that Jim Starlin, credited as the author of this book, is NOT the author of this book, the author is Tim Buckley, who goes by Absath online. And, as far as I know, he does not offer the book through Amazon. My advice to potential buyers is to visit www.cad-comic.com and watch the newsposts until Absath says otherwise. If anyone has ordered this through Amazon and recieved a copy, please let me know at andre.galan@gmail.com .
(Edit) On further investigation, I have discovered some things. The publisher is Starline Media, this may have something to do with the Jim Starlin error. Jim Starlin, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with Starline Media, which has more to do with Real Life Comics than anything else. A simple google search will reveal that Ctrl Alt Del has had dealings with Starline Media before, if only being seated at their convention table. A search at the Starline Media site for Jim Starlin yields no results. Furthermore, the Ctrl Alt Del official store, Gamer Warez, has no mention of the book as of 10/20/04. Buyer Beware. I'll update/remove this review as I deem necessary.

I have wanted to learn about Java applets. I just got the CD uploaded and checked the applets out myself. the "Hello World" int he first chapter does not work, but the rest of them do! And believe me they are awesome! Java gurus at work! No lie! I kid you not! I had no idea you could do such awesome tricks with applets. Java truly is powerful!
This book is for those who seriously want to learn advanced tricks and read a book that explains the code as well.
As I said before the first applet "Hello Worls" does not work but the rest(and there are lots) work perfect!
I give this book 5 stars and look forward to reading the rest of this book.

What a fantastic set of expositional application commentaries on the New Testament! The volumes on Matthew, Mark, Romans, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, and 2 Peter and Jude are particularly outstanding, but all of the commentaries have valuable explanations and applications of the scriptures. This is a good set to own, especially if you are preaching and teaching God's Word.
I like the format of the NIV Application series, which divides the discussion of each section into three parts: Original Meaning, Bridging Contexts, and Contemporary Significance. I should say that occasionally, the way the commentators apply the text is a lot different from the way I would apply it, but even so, I get a lot out of the original meaning sections.
If there is any drawback to this set, it is the crummy Pradis software engine, which is slow and sluggish. When you try to copy, cut, and paste lines of comment onto a Word document, it takes a long time. It's a pain.
But it is a minor pain, because the set is well worth owning. I highly recommend it for pastors and Bible teachers.

The NIV Application Commentary is a must for Pastors who want to
communicate biblical insights with relevant application. The commentary takes each section (or paragraph)of scripture text and gives you a basic 'original meaning' section, a 'bridging the context' section, then finally a 'contemporary significance'
section. Each section has helpful insights. Some may wish to suppliment the orginal meaning section with further research in
other commentaries. Each book of New Testament commentary is written by an author who has done extensive work that biblical book. I have found it a helpful tool in sermon and bible study
prepartion.

Legal Guidance More Valuable Now Than Ever Before

The greatest value of this book will be derived from the guidance which the various forms which Battle provides because they will indicate precisely what information will be needed to complete them. In that sense, this book really is for "everyone" in need of such guidance. With regard to the forms themselves, it is important to keep in mind that there are three different codes of law in the United States and that some laws vary (sometimes substantially) from one state, county, or municipality to the next. Therefore, it would be prudent to obtain legal counsel to review the completed forms before they are filed. Obviously, thanks to Battle, the cost of such counsel will be substantially reduced. (The title of Chapter 2 is "Finding the Best Lawyer for You.") A significant value-added benefit is the CD-ROM on which all forms are contained. There is another, perhaps less obvious benefit: Careful completion of any of the forms enables those who do so to understand the legal context within which information is assembled. For that reason, I urge those who purchase this book to read all of the 24 chapters. Thoughtfully, Battle also provides an appendix for those seeking "Sources of Additional Information."

At first I thought that Lightwave was very complex but when I finish the book I found out that it's simple, very easy to work and you can do amazing things in no time. This book also serves as a reference resource once you're working with the software. I highly recommend this book to beginner-intermediate users.
