Although intended as a lesson on occupations, the book also serves a purpose in the ESL classroom. The book is written in
a simple pattern which renders it easily comprehensible by ESL students. ("Who helps Mr. Noisy find a good book? The librarian.")
So it could also supplement a lesson on the interrogative form.
Watch the price, though; the book is only 16 pages.

As the Author of Cultural Diversity in Health and Illness, 4th. edition, I've been involved in the field of diversity for
over twenty five years. At no time have I encountered a book such as Multicultural Celebrations that is as sound, practical,
and valuable as this text. Dresser delves into the unasked questions of our day to day lives and offers invaluable pointers
for "what to do" in a wide range of social encounters. Given today's rapidly changing environment, she provides basic information
for our enhancement and enjoyment of living in a multicultural society. This book makes a valuable contribution to the
cultural information needed by all of us - in both our work and personal lives.

My Very Own Halloween is a great book for children to use to create treats to eat, as well as crafts to decorate for the occasion.
Each food/craft has a list of the items required to create it. Then it shows a numbered list of descriptive steps to follow.
There's a photograph of every creation and suggested menus combining the creations.

Great Insight Into Chinese Business Practices

This is one of the best cross-cultural guides to doing business in China that I have ever read. As a consultant who has been
training both Chinese and Ex-pat staff in the area of cross-culture for many years I found the material up to date, fresh
and well written. West and Chee do not prescribe to the notion that China's economy is a house of cards ready to fall--or
to the equally spurious claim that China is about to take over the worlds economy with its mythical 1.3 billion consumers.
Instead, the authors paint a realistic and pragmatic picture of what the 'real' situation is in China and how western business
people can best position themselves to meet the challenges of entering its growing market.
This book is written with a genuine affection for China and its culture and it's obvious that the authors have a wealth of insight and experience in dealing with both business and cross-cultural matters on the mainland. I particularly liked the format of the book, which took 10 popular myths about China and the Chinese and debunked them using solid evidence and prescient insight. However, this book is not just about demolishing stereotypes and myths. It's about gaining a realistic view of China, its people and its economy and then getting the reader to understand how they can adjust their work and communication style to leverage their ability to work and live more effectively in China
At a lean 148 pages (British edition), Myths about Doing Business in China has no fluff or filler and can easily be digested in a few hours. The only downside to this book is the $42 price tag that the Philistines at Palgrave, Macmillian extort from the buyer! Yet with that said, I also have to admit that in the long run you'll still consider it money well spent.

This book was published in Great Britain, and it shows. The Brits have a way with presenting "how-to" information in a stylish
yet clear manner. Each napkin holder or napkin folding design is on its own page, with full-color photographs of different
steps and the finished product. The instructions are easy to follow.

This book offers the reader a humorous but sensible view on the art of easy entertaining. It is obvious that the numerous
tips given have worked for the author and will indeed work for the reader. Simple ideas are given for table arrangements
and decorations that are inexpensive yet attractive. Organizational tips are given on what to do each day before a party
is given. Complete lists are offered as to what a stocked pantry should always contain. Ideas for what to keep in the freezer
are also advised so one can always be ready for drop-in guests. Numerous recipes are available with ideas on how to incorporate
them into an entire menu plan. The book also reveals the author's personality and background through the humorous anecdotes
that are interspersed throughout this easily read book. The author's goal of taking the worry out of entertaining is achieved.

This is an amazing little book; wish I had purchased it earlier. It is factual, interesting, and a quick read. It is especially
helpful for those who are going to travel in the Netherlands, but also a good book for those who want to know more about where
they may have already traveled. Great little reference.
