Deke McClelland makes studying Elements a joy. Not only does he clarify everything so clearly, he does it with humor. It is much easier than attending a classroom where everyone is at a different level. Because of time limitations I have not finished the complete DVD, but now I can start wherever I need to and pick up where I left off. I highly recommend this product.

I am overwhelmed at how good this video is. Deke has a very personable style and teaches in a language that is very easy to understand, follow along, and most important of all duplicate.

The DVD comes with 100's of sample images, of his kids by the way, that you can play with without worrying about messing up any of your own.

I set up the DVD on a small floating screen in my browser and then opened up Photoshop Elements 5 and just followed along every step of the way.

He has made very large learning curve soooooo much smaller.

Deke's DVD is great! The most important benefit I learned from the DVD is how to have an accountable bird's view of the different features. Deke's explains the organizer and the editing of images in a very simple and comfortable way. I was very satisfied with Deke's DVD.

As always Deke has done an excellent job of presenting Photoshop Elements 5 and showing how to use the product. He is very good in defining every step of an application. I have enjoyed this video as well as others he has done and learn something every time I watch it.

This is a great tutorial- even if you are already a knowledgable PS user, you can glean great tidbits from this well organized, thorough program.

Nowhere else can you find such in depth instruction on navigating CS2 from a photographer's perspective. There is a wealth of information for the advanced photoshop user, yet Chris's teaching style conveys these concepts with such ease even a beginner will not feel lost. If you've ever had the pleasure of seeing Chris Orwig speak, these tutorials are a real treat.

I liked this training course a lot---it was just what I needed. It is a video training course on two CDs. It is played on your computer (Mac or PC) and includes high-quality QuickTime movies. These are not DVDs for a DVD player.

I've been using Adobe software for many years (mostly Photoshop and Illustrator) but most of my web design was with FrontPage, a Microsoft program that has been abandoned. So when it came time to develop a new website, I decided to switch to GoLive CS2 because I already owned it as a part of the Adobe CS2 Creative Suite. However, when I started to work with GoLive, I found it very frustrating because I'm mostly self-taught with regard to web design and HTML coding. Most of the training that is available, like Adobe's book "Adobe GoLive CS2 Classroom in a Book" and the video training from Total Training assume way too much. They assume that you already have a pretty good understanding of web design and they leave too many gaps in their explanations. I'm a quick learner but I needed more basic help to get me started.

Now I'm ready to learn more about cascading style sheets (CSS). Garrick shows how to create them with GoLive but this is a very large subject for more advanced users (remember this training is for beginners and intermediate users).

Not all training movies are alike. This guy's training style is intuitively organized, thorough and accessible. He organizes this particular title in such a way that, depending on how absorbant your little brain is, you could have a reasonably functioning css based website up and running in, like, a week. Maybe less if you're the genius of the family; which I am not. But I am the cascading style sheets go-to person of my entire circle of friends now thanks to Garrick. Mind you, I travel with a non-computer crowd - but I mean, isn't that the point? Now they can safely hire me to do their websites and I will have a clue as to how to do it. Be ready to have note paper ready there are pointers he gives you will NOT want to forget. Arranging paettes, for instance; simple but elegant arranging for we who do not have max-cap screens. Look, don't waiver, Mr. Chow has taken this old "PageMill v.1 user into the 00's - in as smooth a transition as I could have hoped.

Let me first start by saying the entire line of Lynda.com videos are first rate. In fact they are so good the training department at our company studies them learn techniques for doing online videos/tutorials for our software.

As for this specific title I was very pleased with the knowledge I walked away with. I watched it twice because I was so interested how this process could work for my company. As an avid reader of Anne-Marie's work on many topics is was much easier to watch and listen to her as she clearly and in detail showed me the ins-and-outs of a process for which she is clearly an expert.

We are a small publisher with 15 years experience. Having graduated through Publish It!, Microsoft Publisher, Pagemaker, and now InDesign, we thought we had a good handle on workflow issues in the publishing business. We had no idea why we should use InCopy or even what it is, even through we are an "InDesign house". To answer that question, I decided we should take a look at Anne-Marie's training with InCopy just to get a handle on why we should consider it.(It's not particularly obvious why one would use it instead of, say, MS Word.)

About 30 minutes into the presentation and we were hooked. Our entire staff is now going through this training program and we've converted our entire publishing workflow over to an InCopy/InDesign routine thanks to Anne-Marie.

Her training is clear, well-paced, organized, frank, and she made the transition from our old MS Word workflow to InCopy both easy and painless.

These types of transitions can be difficult when the staff resists change. In this case, her training made everyone want to leap on it with gusto -- which we did. Essentially, we were up and running in less than a day and have deepened our appreciation of the advantages of this workflow as we've progressed through the full training course.

So, bottom line, I have no hesitation in recommending InCopy with enthusiasm, but I'd strongly suggest Anne-Marie's training as the key that unlocks the door to this publishing paradigm. In fact, I'd actually looked at InCopy CS2 a few years ago and rejected it because, quite honestly, it just didn't make sense. I wish I'd had this training program back then. It would have saved us so much work and stress over the last few years with CS2. I'm glad we, at least, found it now.

If you are using InDesign in a team environment for publishing, do yourself a favor and take a look at InCopy -- and there is no better way to do that than to go through this training program with "Her Geekness." She makes its advantages clear; she makes its implementation easy; she makes its intricacies understandable; she even makes the leaning process fun. How many stars am I allowed to give? Only 5? Not enough, in my opinion.
