This was a very helpful book for contest seeking. It has only one fault, which is it only says whether people from grades 7 through 12 can enter. So, for instance, say their is a contest open to grades K-12, the book would only say 7-12. Other then that, it was thorough, well researched and overall, very, very helpful!

Children love recognition for a job well done. The Ultimate Guide to Student Contests, Grades K-6 lists competitions for a number of academic disciplines open to elementary school students. Although published in 1998, the information is fairly current. Most of the listings provide web sites for further information.

There is something for everyone inside the chock-full book of websites. Find "clean" search engines, things for your kids to do, shopping sites, education-related sites, like math and science, religious sites (of course), sites for family and marriage, and so much more. It took me a while just to read through this. Now to go back and actually GO to all these sites, well, there's just so many. I am very pleased with this book and I have recommended it to all of my friends.

This is a great book to keep beside your computer! There is a Christian Communities section which profiles 4 web sites, including crosswalk.com & gospelcom.net. The book is family oriented, and there is a wealth of subjects covered! You can find web sites about many different topics, including art, Bible, career, health (with sections for children's, men's, & women's health), entertainment, games, genealogy, God & theology, homeschooling, "Internet 101," music, science, shopping (yeah! LOL), travel, & women's studies, just to name a few! One neat feature is space to write in your own favorite web sites. There is also an email address included to "submit a site" for future editions of the book. There are safe surfing tips in the front of the book...important for families with children. There are some really good sites that are specifically for kids. Overall, this is a neat book for the entire family and a wonderful value too! A fun and fascinating book for seasoned surfers as well as "newbies"! I highly recommend it!

I picked up this book at the public library and have tried some of the recipes. The zucchini enchiladas are delicious and the zucchini hot cakes are tasty, too. I plan to purchase this book.

The various coffee cakes and muffins we've tried have become family favorites, particularly recipes such as "Root Beer Muffins", "Maple Muffins with Maple Butter Glaze" (so rich!!!), "Peaches and Cream Muffins" and "Snickerdoodle Coffeecake". And the various custard dishes are wonderful, too.

This is by far one of the best if not the best research tool for looking up the towboats during the steam era. It list the boats what type, type of hull, who built it and where, and a complete history of the boat from begining to its end. With the Way's Packet boat Directory you have a total history of steam river transportation. Totally unsurmountable in knowledge for your research or just curiousity of the history of steam travel.It includes wonderful black and white photos that enable you to feel like you are ready to board and take a trip into time.

If you are looking for a great source of web sites this book is a real deal.

The only downside is that it is updated so fast, you'll need to buy the next one just as soon as you get and read the first.

This book is quite insightful. It gives all points of view on the various conspiracy theories with which it deals and there is lots of information which I had never heard before as well as some lesser known conspiracy theories. Really fascinating! Since there are so many more conspiracy theories around, perhaps a volume 2 of Web of Conspiracy?
