Before I review the book, I must say a few words about the author. I first met Eileen last fall at my favorite club, Nashville's in Timonium, Maryland after corresponding with her via CompuServe. In addition to being a writer, she is an excellent dancer! Before we parted company, she signed a copy of her book for me, which I read cover to cover. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! It covers everything a person would need to know before venturing out on the dance floor. She talks about the history of honky- tonks, how to dress, and how to act on and off the dance floor. Then she gives a detailed listing by state of clubs that have been around the longest, and finally a listing of newer clubs throughout the U.S. I can't wait to read Eileen's next book and dance the El Paso with her again on the dance floor! The book tells novices how to dress, act and proper ways of getting around the honky tonk scene. If you knew nothing about honky tonks and dancing this book tells you the ins and outs of the club life. She speaks from personal experience which adds to the text and makes you feel ready to face the action. I recommend this book for anyone interested in learning more about the dance scene.

This book is fascinating and remarkably useful. it`s great both for browsing and for reference. I`ve already bought and read two books I found described here and have added several more to my "to read" list. Hooked on Horror is worth the price for anyone who likes horror stories--not only is it enjoyable in itself, but it leads you to other reading within your areas of interest that you may never have known abou otherwise. I know that's true for me.

This is a great, easy to use book, with all the information needed to get online, get reservations and learn more about where you are going. If you're an expert with a computer or, just some who doesn't have a clue, you can use this book to get great travel information.

I can't give this book enough credit!! When I was younger I used to write to sports stars all the time, always using the addresses from these books (I had all four). I now have numerous autographs......Steve Young, Cam Neely, Brian McBride, Eddie Belfour, Mike Modano, Jeff Gordon, and many more. They are all real! It is so great..... for people looking to buy the books, I recommend using the team addresses in the back of the book but putting a name at the top instead of the team name. The addresses in the book just go to fan clubs, but if you send it to the team they will give it to the players!!! Anyways, enjoy the book. It's awesome!

This book is incredible informational and fact-filled for young kids who are interested in writing to their favorite athletes in search of autographs. I have found from my personal experience that if you are polite enough in your requesting an autograph from an athlete through the mail, that they will usually respond in a positive manner, although occasionally it does take quite a long time to get a response from the athletes.

I may be a bit biased in my recommendation of this book, as my wife was the editor on the project a few years back during an internship she had while in college, and the author was one of my good friends from college. So Dylan and Inga... WAY TO GO!!! Thanks for giving kids such an informative and valuable resource for trying to get in touch with their sports heroes!!!

I buy this book every year and still have a copy of the original 1977 edition. It is amazing how much information is contained in a "pocket" book. I own a retail wine store and recommend this book to my customers (and send them to Amazon as I can't match the price!). Of course I do not agree with all the information/ratings in the book, but I'm just one palate. However I love Hugh Johnson's comments about "scores". The thought anyone can really taste the difference between an 89 point wine and a 90 point wine is ridiculous, but I know it makes a big difference in retail as many people are "point buyers" and do not rely on their own palates.

This is the latest and greatest from the very long-running series of pocket guides from Hugh Johnson. Johnson has long been known as authoritative by any measure, but many value him most for his down-to-earth approach to wine. When it comes to this guide, "Pocket" is beginning to be a stretch. This edition runs 320 pages and the guide is now nearly an inch thick!

While you would think the extensive coverage would be sufficient, trying to cover available wines in a pocket guide in a world where ever more wine is available in ever more places is a losing proposition. Take it to a restaurant and, chances are, a fair number of the available mainstream wines will be listed. If the restaurant has a deep list, however, or if it's a specialty restaurant, many will not be.

This guide is still worth having and toting along, particularly if you do not have ready access to an alternative. Shortly, such portable print guides will go the way of the world in favor of online guides and those adapted to mobile devices, however. Wine Spectator has their Wine Advocate Mobile software, with full access to their 200,000 wine listings, for example. Parker has his website subscription service. There are many others. Johnson himself had software at one time, though I don't know if it has been kept up-to-date. The barrier for most people is the device and their current cell phone service.

If you are getting ready to update your cell phone or service, have a look at the newer alternatives. I can personally attest to the usability of the iPhone for internet access. If you are not up for such a change, in hard copy pocket guides, there are none I like better than this one.

All three of her books I have read and enjoyed each tremendously. The size (length) may scare away some readers, but they don't know what they're missing. Each of her novels are hard-to-put-down reads. I'm just sorry she has not written more.

This book is brilliant. I can't actually describe how I felt when I read it. I couldn't put it down.

It is about 2 people who love each other more than life. They love each other more than eternity + eternity.

Wish I had found this sooner. Saved me lots of time, and introduced me to gear companies I never even heard of. I even learned a few new things in the glossary section. VERY COOL

A bought this book as a gift for my husband, who likes to mountain climb and skate. He and I really liked the way the book was laid out, making it easy to locate information. The number of resources listed for each sport were incredible and many of them you would not be able to find without this book. We bought equipment and items through resources listed in this book that we had not been able to find in our home town. This is a must have for anyone interested in "extreme" sports.

The International Directory of Military Aircraft is the best single-source reference for military aviation. I am looking forward to the March release of the 00/01 edition. I do not have the Civil Directory, but I am sure that it is good as well. I also have the 98/99 edition, which is very good. I hope every aviation buff owns a copy of this wonderful book.

The International Directory of Military Aircraft is a great book.I really like to study military aircraft and this is a good resource book.All the planes in it have awesome pictures.It tells you all the details you need to know about almost any type of plane you can think of. If I am trying to find who makes a jet to the weight and dimensions of one this is the book I reach for.Recently I ordered the latest version.I would have to say out of all of my military aircraft books this would be the best one. So if you just like neat pictures of planes or if you really go nuts over them like me then you will love this book.It is a great book just to have around the house to look up something every once and a while or to study in your free time.
