The explanation of the first paragraph of "Finnegans Wake" alone is worth the price of admission! Keep this book in mind every time you're in a used bookstore.

I have read Avalon romances and Avalon career romances for the last few years, and the quality varies greatly from book to book and from author to author. Labor of Love is one of the best. Well-written, engrossing, deeply romantic, and intelligent, it is a novel that I really enjoyed. Some Avalon romances are written in a shallow, eighth-grade style; this one is terrific. I was born and raised in St. Louis, so I appreciated the St. Louis setting, also.

This is a tribute to the brothers and sisters who have suffered line of duty deaths in the FDNY. The authors spent hours poring over old records and newspaper archives to make the first comprehensive list of these ever in NYC. Each member has a discrete entry with a little story attached and photo if that was found.

For quite a few of the members this is their quite overdue first 5-5-5-5 (5-5-5-5 is the last alarm signal transmitted in memoriam over the city alarm system when a firefighter dies) as their deaths had not been officially been recognized by the city as in the line of duty due to clerical errors or carelessness.

Proceeds go to the FDNY Foundation.

Far too many claims about law departments and their management offer no support or metrics. I gathered data from about 60 sources, some unpublished, and presented it in 230 color charts. Standard quality for anything put out by ICPC and if you are a police chaplain you should know what I mean.

This is a wonderful product giving clear advise on how to handle tough situations. It is a must have for any minister/chaplain who may work in an officer down situation.

Just hold this book in your hands and you can feel the dedication and energy that went into preserving the history of the Lawrence Police force. Full of pictorials of officers past and present, you can see the changes in the uniforms, equipment and in the city in which these Heros Wearing Blue have dedicated there lives to. I would recommend this book to anyone that has a sense of patriotisim as much as this author has.

This is an excellent book for members of the fire service and for individuals interested in the law as it pertains to today's fire service. It is informative and easy for the law layman to read. It describes the law and provides relevant and up to date examples of the concept presented. This book is a definite must for fire personnel.

It presents basic legal and civic concepts in clear, concise, easy to understand language accompanied by many pertinent case studies or examples. This book will be an invaluable tool to not only the fire service officer but to every firefighter and public safety responder.

Worth it's weight in Gold! The best reference on Naval Officers in existence for Naval researchers. If it happened before 1900 in the U.S. Navy it's in this book in some way or other. A must have for serious Naval Historians.
