I have the original 1895 first edition of the book. The author covers all aspects of heraldry, including origin and development of heraldry, with many full color plates and illustrations of Colonial Armory, seals and crests. This is a must reference work to have.

This is a great book to read. The author illustrates the essence of creative nonfiction and provides factual information in an interesting way. I loved how the author was able to grab the reader's attention with vivid descriptions and details. This allowed the reader to follow the author's journey in life, his passion for baseball, and the journey of the glove. It was interesting to see how the author was able to use a simple object and turn it into several stories that helped represent his life and define who he was.

This book published by the Department of the Army is one of the most complete and authoritative studies of the German campaign against Russia. The material for this book was obtained from German militry records now in the custody of the Adjutant General, United States Army. Documents written by former German general officers who had an active part in the planning and operations provided additional information. The authors of these documents include Gen. Franz Halder, Chief of Staff of the German Army from 1938-1942; Gen. Gotthard Heinrici, a former corps, army, and army group commander on the Russian front; and several others.

The book includes very detailed analysis of the German strategies, the actual campaigns against Russia, many charts and maps (some fold-out maps), a chronology of events, and a list of German military leaders 1940-1942.

As a second year CPE student I found the book to be an excellent handbook to keep on the shelves. I borrowed it from our hospital chaplain, and am hoping to find a copy to purchase. Unfortunately, it appears to be out of print.
