I liked this book a lot. It's been buried in Amazon's Business section when it's really a social history. There's some great dirt in here, especially about how pissed off catalogue employees were when 9,000 of them got the axe in one day in 1976. My dad was one of them. Loved the Buyer's chapter and didn't know that Eaton's employees actually lost their lives on the Titanic, Athenia, and Lusitania. And the description of how Eaton's Japanese employees scrambled to protect the contents of the Eaton's buying office safe after the 1923 Yokohama earthquake levelled the buying office, is wild. The war chapter is also amazing. Certainly proves that not everyone loved each other among the Eaton family behind the family! Funny stuff about Santa too.

All in all a great read! Highly recommended. Pictures are a great touch. Phenix has a nice ascerbic style at times; writes like a man. But her picture on the dustjacket certainly proves she isn't one! (little sexism here, ha!)

Effective Department and Team Leaders is an outstanding handbook for all school administrators. Mr. LeBrecque provides the reader with hands-on, immediately useful information for leading content area departments through curriculum improvement efforts especially at the high school level. Areas that are covered particularly well are self-evaluations, supervision, conflict management, and organizational structure. Throughout the book there are specifically designed excersizes for the reader to do that press home the objective of the chapter she or he is reading. I recommend it to anyone in education who has assumed a leadership position.

This book is extremely well written and comprehensive. The fundamentals of electrokinetics are laid out in the first six or seven chapters followed by a discussion of each of the main topical areas in the field. Coagulation and deposition are also discussed which is a bonus. The book ends with two chapters on Numerical Simulations and Applications respectively which are very useful.

I teach a class in electrokinetics and may use this text in the future.

Eleven Elephants Going Up is a great book. My 7 year old loves to search out all of the elephants on each page and my 2 year old loves to try and mimick her brother as he counts to 11. The illustrations are bright and fun!
