Chief Coleman has been a prolific writer over the last 20 years and his topics are alway timely and accurate. I have had
the fortune of meeting him on several occassions and respect him very much. This book is excellent it covers a lot of topics
from your basic run of the mill situations to those that require significant finesse. Chief Coleman handles them all very
well and adds his considerable experiences to help the reader understand the issues. I am still reading this selection and
keep it at work to use as a reference source.

As a busy new mom, I'm finding that I no longer have oodles of time to linger over menus for the week. This book has easy
& nutritious meals already laid out for four weeks. I enjoy not having to think through what we're going to have for the
next week. All I have to do is write down my ingredient list & head out to the store. I can only think of 2-3 recipies in
the book that aren't tasty... if you have your own Fajita recipe, I would use it instead of the one listed in the book. Also,
the apricot muffin recipe just doesn't seem to work as listed; the result is too wet. Our top picks from the book are the
bagel/tuna melt and the chicken stir fry recipe.

Evidence-based educational program for COAs

This is the Bible of working with school-age children of alcoholics and addicts. It was written by Jerry Moe, currently Director
of Betty Ford Clinic's Children's Program. Jerry is one of the most positive and energetic child therapists in the country.
This is his grab bag of about 150 group activities to do with COAs. It's positive, upbeat, and helpful in restoring children
to normalcy. I use this daily in running a community program for children of alcoholics and addicts. We have groups in schools,
treatment centers, the juvenile detention center, and anywhere we can find folks that can benefit. The Kit is available free
from SAMHSA in unlimited quantities.

When Cassy the clumsy crocodile gets a job at Everglades Department Store, she certainly makes things happen - but not in
the way she hopes. Toys, food, china.....she leaves a trail of destruction behind her in every department she visits. But
in the end, Cassy's clumsiness saves the day and turns her into a hero.

More little-known Post-WWII and Cold War History...
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 1999-02-04
Review Date: 1999-02-04
Robert Newman not only leads up to his highly praised history of the Owen Lattimore story and the influence of the "China
Lobby" with this account, but gives much denied credit as well to the history of the left which had been censored, denied,
and castigated... Included is a little-known quote from Lillian Hellman in her opening remarks to the Waldorf Peace Conference
in 1949, which she co-organized. The Waldorf Conference was a credit to the post-WWII anticolonialist peace movement fueled
by the activism of the radicalism of the 30s. This social/political/cultural movement included among others Hellman and W.E.B.
DuBois, who founded the Peace Information Center in 1950 and circulated the Stockholm Peace Petition at a time when the Soviet
Union was allegedly running a "peace offensive" and at a time when anyone who promoted peace or who criticized U.S. policy
must therefore be viewed as being an agent of a foreign govt. in the McCarthy hysteria. Not only was anyone associated
with those promoting peace at risk of suspicion, but also anyone who showed any independent thinking regarding foreign policy,
no matter how extensive the institutional experience (as in Melby's case) or how well-founded the logic. This was the case
with John Melby, chief editor of the China White Paper which acknowledged the inevitable failure of the KMT and the subsequent
"loss of China." Just as anyone associated with the Waldorf Conference was eventually brought before HUAC and/or blacklisted,
so anyone associated with authorship of the China White Paper was subjected to loyalty security board hearings and their
careers ruined, but for different cause. The irony of this book is that it illustrates how the relationship of Melby and
Hellman resulted in a collision of these two very different worlds of thought, intellectual culture, career, and experience.

This book is a lifesaver, complete with flowcharts of possible problems, descriptions of illnesses, what to do for your child
and when to call the doctor. Most helpful of all are the many pictures of what rashes, etc. actually look like. I heartily
recommend this for anyone with children.

Reports from the Front Line in WWII

Experience has shown that psychiatric disabilities are a major problem in a modern army. While training attempts to get a
feeling of realism of the modern battlefield it is at best a week simulation of the first experience of combat when people
are actually getting killed, and furthermore getting killed in very messy ways.
The amount of psychiatric problems being experienced by a unit is also an indication of the overall effectiveness of that unit. As such, the incidence rate should be carefully monitored by line officers at all levels.
This book is the result of studies made during operations in North Africa and the Mediterranean Theater of Operation during World War II. The book consists of a series of articles written by serving officers of the Medical Corp and relates their actions and observations during the actual treatment of individuals.
While the time period of this book is now many years ago, this was the last time that huge numbers of American soldiers were engaged in combat. While there are differences in today's more professional, smaller Army, the experiences described here should not be ignored.
