The work teaches how to reduce a large body of knowledge to a
precise set of facts and rules. A cognitive psychological
model may be formulated because humans have a highly anticipatory
system of modeling the world to increase the likelihood of
survival.

The author sets forth some fairly sophisticated rule structures
at the meta level. For instance:
o A meta meta system sets forth distinctions that specify
further relations amongst distinctions on lower levels of
the decision-making process
o A set of distinctions sets forth the basis of the comparisons
o Models generate data on comparative relationships between
and amongst individual models
o Distinctions about particular events are analyzed
o Same or similar systems distinctions are made

This book is for the student at the intermediate level of
artificial intelligence sophistication and model-building.

For Catholics, any individual can experience revelation;; whereas for Muslims, prophets are the ones who experience revelation. For Catholics, "revelation offers humans an intimate knowledge of God, and Christians experience faith as a gift from God that enables them to respond positively to this offer." In Islam, the Arabic word "wahy" is used for revelation; "as such, 'revelation' us used for those special modes of communication through which God speaks to the Prophets and the Messengers." In spite of the difference in focus, both Christianity and Islam regard revelation as a special communication, or working, of God or Allah which renders individuals more aware of the God; and individuals who experience revelation work to spread this awareness. This difference is not so much in what is revealed as in the subject experiencing revelation; which subject is the source for communicating what is revealed to others. The short, pithy summary--little more than a pamphlet--of the "Dialogue" specifies differences and identifies commonalities between this concept of revelation which is central to the faith and beliefs of both major world religions.

After watching the Bleep movie, I felt overwhelmed by all the information. Dr. Joe really puts in simple terms the control we have over our own life. He is humorous, to the point and very powerful in his message. I have listened several times, and would love a companion booklet to go along with it. Very good.

Allen (Professor Emeritus, Administration of Justice, San Jose State University, California) Risk Reduction: Interventions For Special Needs Offenders is a selection of superbly presented essays by various learned authors considering cogent and scholarly assessments of the very real issue of handling criminal offenders in the American justice system in order to encourage rehabilitation and prevent future offenses. Individual contributions address the assessment of psychopathy in very clinical terms, utilizing accepted checklist tests and other scientific means to evaluate the human psyche, effective DWI interventions, intervention with sex offenders, and much more. Risk Reduction is very highly recommended for anyone involved heavily with our justice system and its treatment of special needs offenders, and a welcome contribution to Criminology Studies reference collections.

I appreciated the insights the speakers give. It has fantastic insights into the Atonement and the teachings carry a strong Spirit. I recommend it highly.

I'm proud to say that I read William P. Wanker's book when it first came out, many years ago, and it changed my life. Despite it not becoming the literary classic I had expected it to become, I'm glad to know that Wanker's popularity is again rising amoung young readers, making him, despite his age, an up and coming author. I highly recommend the book to anyone, whether an urban or rural resident, since its importance cannot be understated. Excellent. William P. Wanker, we salute you!

Jack Fagan has written a delightful guide to foot trails and carriage ways in this interesting part of the Gunks. Superb illustrations.

Be sure you get the third edition released in 2006; Chapter 9 is extensively rewritten to include new land and trails. The New York New Jersey Trail Conference carries up to date changes in the trails, parking and access points. All three areas are located 90 minutes from New York City.

Background information.

Minnewaska State Park Preserve is a 14,500 acre park located on the Shawangunk Ridge in New York near New Paltz, New York. There are outstanding views of the nearby Catskill Mountains. The park has a complex history of hotels, fires, and lawsuits. Eventually New York State bought the property in 1987 and opened the Minnewaska State Park Preserve in 1993.

Mohonk is anchored by the Mohonk Mountain House, a grand 265 room Victorian Castle built in 1869. It overlooks Lake Mohonk in an incredibly beautiful setting. Day hikers have access to Mohonk's 85 miles of hiking trails, and sometimes to other facilities available to Mohonk guests, including tennis, midweek golf, lake swimming, boating, ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and children's programs.

Sam's Point Preserve, owned by the Open Space Institute and managed by the Nature Conservancy, is located just outside Ellenville and covers the highest points on the Shawangunk Ridge. Verkeerderkill Falls is a spectacular waterfall that drops through a notch in the sheer white cliffs. This is a particularly good area for hiking on weekends, when Minnewaska and Mohonk tend to be much more crowded.

"Gunks" is a shortening of the "Shawangunks" (Sha-WAN-gunks) Mountain Range which stretches over 50 miles in a southwest to northeast direction from Port Jervis to Rosendale, reaching 260 feet in height (2,200' above sea level), and is home to the four most popular and prominent climbing cliffs: the Trapps, Near Trapps, Skytop and Millbrook. The ridge and its slopes contain over 150,000 acres spreading across 16 towns in three counties. Continuing south, the ridge becomes the Kittatinny Mountains in New Jersey and then part of the chain of Appalachian Mountains all the way down to Georgia.
